Roshan’Parveneh did not usually think about much besides the next female he might encounter or how to win a bit of time with her for some fun. Whether he was worried about an encounter that had not gone well or just enjoying fond memories of those that had gone to his liking, the male’s brain was almost always filled with thoughts of the females he had met and the activities involving them. He liked to think he just had a fondness for the fairer things in life. Truthfully, though, he was just obsessed with the fairer sex and more specifically the act of breeding.
It might have been a little callus of him, but since coming to the Rogue lands and getting a taste of what it was to be free of his pride and out on his own with females, that could and would make decisions for themselves, he had not given much thought to his family. Today, though, all that he could think about was his family that he left behind and what they might be doing. Were they well? Had his sisters gotten Pads yet? Did his parents miss him? It was so strange to think they might have moved on without him around, and yet they would have had to. What did they think had become of him anyway?

Roshan had never really taken the time to think about what impact his decision to stay out in the rogue lands would take. To be quite truthful, he had never really made the decision consciously. He had just started enjoying himself out here when he had to come out as an adolescent and not thought about anything but having fun. He had wasted away all of his adolescence now and was onto his adulthood, and still he had yet to even start looking for a proper banu to take home. He really should have been looking for a banu this whole time.
Most males brought home a banu before they reached adult, or just after. Here Roshan was, an adult, far from home, and no banu in sight. He was starting to wonder if he would be seen as shameful or if the pride might just think he had gone extra far for the perfect banu. He might have to tell them that to sate everyone when he got back because he had no intentions of rushing back to the pride. He had already wasted time, so he might as well keep enjoying himself and figure the rest out as it came to him. There were plenty of females in the world after all.

Roshan sighed to himself as he thought of his family waiting for him back home in his pride. His mother, his sisters, his father, and uncles were all probably wondering what happened to him. His father likely had more cubs with his mother and perhaps new banus. His family back home was likely growing and expanding without him, and who knew, they really could have thought him dead by now. It was enough to tempt the male into turning around and retracing his travels home. He knew there was a much straighter route back than what he had taken thus far.
The only problem with that would be that Roshan would likely be returning without a banu, and that was not allowed. He had to have a banu before he returned or he was not going to be allowed back into the pride. That would not make his family happy at all. It was better they think him dead than think he had tried to return as a failed Pad! He might be able to find the perfect banu, or at least have some offspring by the time he went back to the pride. Bringing home children he had sired out in the roguelands plus a banu, might win him some bonus with the pride.

Roshan wondered if he had sired any cubs along the way. He did not really travel that fast, so one would think the females would have had plenty of time to catch up with him if he had done so. Just to be safe, he thought he might retrace his same trail back toward home when he turned that way and see if he found any females waiting for him, or with cubs that looked like him. It really would not have been hard to tell if he sired a litter. His bright colors were a bit distinctive. He had to thank his parents for that, since he had not seen many others of similar coloring out here.
With that decision made, Roshan felt a bit better about his catting around. He was going to do the responsible thing and take a bit of time to at least check to see if he had sired any cubs, so that made him a good lion. He might be a bit of a dork and a flake, but at least he was going to take the time to try to do right by any cubs he sired. He would let them know he existed, and if any of them got attached to him, he would take them with him. If they did not get attached to him, well, their mothers were likely to be strong enough to care for them, so why rip them away?

Roshan thought this should please his pride as well. Leave females that were not likely to be much more than Kajira outside where they belonged, bring back a nice banu and whatever cubs he sired that wanted to come home with him. If it worked out, his plan would get him a good reception and likely make more of the Pads in his pride think he would do right by their daughters. That would be important if he ever wanted to get more banus than just the one he brought home with him from the rogue lands.
Roshan’s mind went off on a little daydream about the day he returned home with his banu. A banu beside him, perhaps some cubs following behind, and a banu waiting to join his harem at home for him to take made the whole dream a very nice one. It was not likely to actually turn out that way, but it was his dream. He could make the dream as big as he wanted to, so long as he remembered it was just a dream and kept his mind on practical goals and expectations. His mind kept adding to the dream, making it bigger and better, and as the dream got bigger and better, the young lion’s mood picked up again and his worries went away for the moment.
