Viveti watched the clouds as he walked. Birds flew over head, gliding on the breeze. It was a calm day, Viveti decided, with the sun shining brightly. He was starting his first day of a new adventure. His family had moved on, migrating to a new land. Instead of going with them, Viveti decided to start his own story. His family was wonderful, but he knew that he needed room to grow, to start his own family. Though he wasn't in much of a hurry to start a family, at least not yet. He thought about the lands he's never seen and the different creatures he could finally meet.
As he walked in the savannah, he heard the chirping of an insect. He looked down and saw a beetle on its back. Carefully he put his paw near the beetle and pushed it so it was on its feet. “There you go little one. It wouldn't be fair if something hunted you while you were helpless like that. Now I suggest you hurry before a bigger creature comes and makes you their dinner.” He watched the bug scurry away. Once it was out of sight, Viveti decided that he would like to really feel the wind blow against him.
He took a deep breath in, before running toward a distant watering hole. He darted past animals and plants, careful not to hit any of them. Once he reached the watering hole, he took a moment to take a rest. He took a couple sips from the water. Then he found a good spot to law down, a little bit a ways from the other animals. He laid down and looked up at the clouds. This was sure to be a good day.

Sometimes the best place to practice for upcoming races was out in the rogue lands. There was one particular "track" Aoife enjoyed running, and it ended at a watering hole she had been frequenting for a while now. Fionn was resting this morning, or off doing her own training, so Aoife was on her own, not that it mattered. She loved her sister, but she didn't need her twenty-four seven. She was a big girl and could take care of herself.
Besides, she was fast.
As the tall grasses whipped at her, she shot like an arrow down the track she'd been practicing on for a few days now. She always did a slightly different loop at one point or another, but it was still good, it was a lot like the actual track in the Makono lands.
Her breathing got a little harder as she finally slowed to a trot and stood out on a rock looking down towards the watering hole. Before she could do her ritual dive into the water to cool off, she spotted someone.White and black, sleek and thin. Another cheetah. Her ears perked forward and she eyed him for a moment. Truth be told any social situation with Aoife present became awkward fast. She just didn't know how to treat others. Fionn understood how she thought and why she acted how she did, but others mistook her shyness for an awkwardness, and her social skills really needed work, which did not help her at all.

While he was laying down he noticed a cheetah approach the water. He was amazed by her speed. When she looked at him he grinned. It was always nice to see a fellow cheetah amongst the array of animals. He debated about whether or not he should go say hello to her or not. It was always nice to meet new cheetahs, but it was also sad because he knew their friendship would not last too long. Eventually they would part ways.
However sometimes it was a pain that was worth it. There had been many friends that he was glad he got to meet, even if they eventually had to go their own way. He got up and headed toward the cheetah, not knowing what he would say. Usually he just would say whatever came to mind.
“Hello there! I thought I would tell you that you are incredibly fast. I won't lie, I was a bit jealous of how fast you were. It made me feel a bit lazy.” He said with a soft laugh. Occasionally he would run, but normally he preferred to walk. That way he could really look around, and see the world around him. He thought that the world would be just as interesting seeing it at high speeds.
“You seemed to navigate really well, are you from around these parts? I am a wandering rogue.” he explained. He didn't want to be a wandering rogue forever, he hoped that before too long he would be able to settle down. For the time being he didn't mind seeing the land though.

Aoife inspected the other as he began speaking to her. He seemed friendly enough, something Aoife was quite terrible at. She could get along fine with her sister, but strangers were harder. Pride mates had stopped expecting her to be a gracefully eloquent cheetah and just enjoyed her for her racing skills now. But strangers knew nothing of that and sometimes it got awkward with her lack of social skills. But it never hurt to try right? Her sister might even be proud if Aoife attempted to be friendly.
"Thanks. And yeah, I am part of the Makono-Epesi pride. I'm one of the racers." She explained, looking back out behind her as she inspected th lands she had just raced across. "And as for speed, I'm sure you could be fast if you ran more... I run twice a day most of the time, prepping for the next race." She felt a little weird as she spoke, should she just tell him about non important things, and expect him to continue on his way, or should she try to recruit him into the pride? On one hand, the lions loved new blooded cheetahs coming in, but on the other, Aoife was fiercely competitive, so adding another cheetah to the racing pool wasn't all that high on her priority list.

Viveti could not imagine running so much. "I would love to see one of your prde's races. I think it would be interesting to watch. Though I don't think I'll ever be a racer. Even if I could run, I don't think I would enjoy it as much. I would much prefer to watch." He hoped that he wouldn't upset her. "If it wouldn't be a hassle I would enjoy watching the next race. Is it anytime soon?" If he couldn't watch a race he would be a disappointed, but maybe he could meet other cheetahs. That would be worth the trip. As he thought about it, he realized he didn't tell his new acquaintance his name. "By the way, my name is Viveti. It is very nice to meet you." he said with a little bow of his.

Aoife wrinkled her nose at hearing he didn't like running. How could a cheetah dislike what they were made to do? She didn't voice her thoughts though, she could just hear Fionn's voice nagging her about being more polite and not upsetting people just because she disagreed with them. So she tried to just smile and nod. "To each their own, I guess." She felt like a parrot as she mimicked a phrase she'd heard time and time again.
She thought about the next race and her tail swished back and forth behind her. "Well..." she began, drawing out her words as she tried to figure out exactly when her next race was before continuing, "I believe it is coming up soon, but I honestly don't remember. My sister keeps track of all that for me. She's much better at organization than I." It was true, Fionn was better organized, had better charisma and was just easily like able. Aoife was sort of the black sheep of the two, though she was trying to fix that.
"You can come to the Makano with me and find out if you like. We always welcome visitors, so long as you don't harass anyone or cause problems."

Viveti noticed the wrinkling of her nose. He hoped he hadn't affected her. He realized that if she belonged to the racing pride, racing was her life. "I used to love running when I was younger, but now I just love to see the world around me slowly and take in all the details I can." He explained. "It's my way of relaxing."
"I would love to go with you. I am not one to cause trouble and I promise not to become a burden. If anything, I would love to help out anyway I can." He said with a nod. "Just a chance to see the races would be an amazing experience for me, something I could tell my offspring down the line when I settle down. I think they would love to hear of the amazing Makono-Epesi pride races. They would probably bug me about going someday in fact!"
He thought that would be a fun adventure, taking the cubs to a whole new pride that they weren't used to, with different cultures and different ideals. "Thank you for giving me this importunity." he said with a bow of his head.

She eyed him up and down a moment then spoke, "So how old are you?" The cheetah asked bluntly before suddenly realizing how rude that sounded and adding, "If you don't mind my asking." She didn't quite understand his point of view, racing was her life, it was everything to her and she couldn't imagine not racing anymore. Well, maybe when she got too old to be any competition, but still, running was her freedom. The wind in her fur, the ground disappearing behind her as she flew forward... Even if she wasn't racing for glory, she would race against herself, trying to get better and better.
"Alright then, the pride is this way. Oh, and when we get there you'll have to meet my sister. We do everything together, well, almost everything." She said matter-of-factly. The truth was Fion and Aoife had been looking for a male cheetah to sire them cubs, eventually, and while Aoife was a horrible judge of character, as she found certain things ideal while her sister did not, she figured she could at least introduce this cheetah to Fion and see what she thought. While he wasn't a fan of running himself, Aoife had an idea that he would get along really well with her sister and she might be able to judge if he was the sort of male they were looking for.

Viveti smiled when she how old he was. "No problem at all. I am still young. I started my adventure when I was an adolescent, and that was a couple years ago." He started to think of his adventure so far, how much he had seen, yet there was so much out there he missed. There were parts of life he had to explore as well and if he wasn't careful he would miss the opportunity.
"Thank you for being my guide. I am very honored." He said with a nod. "I would love to meet you sister. I met another cheetah who showed me her pride, another racing pride and we got along well. I hope to meet more racers so I can have more racing friends." He gave a laugh. "Closeness between sisters is a wonderful thing. I never had siblings so I have never had a bond like that."
He stuck close to her as they traveled back to the pride. As he walked he thought some of the sights seemed awfully familiar, though he decided he was just imagining it. However it became clear that he had been here before, just briefly before he had gotten himself lost. "This is the pride Fionnuala took me to," He said with a laugh. "What are the odds!"

Aoife looked at him and lifted a brow. "Well then, you've met my sister then. Fionnula is the sibling I was telling you about." How funny, it seemed they had both met this rogue cheetah. Well, that would make it simpler to discuss him as a possible suitor with her sister then.
In truth the decision was up to Fion. Aoife only cared the male they chose could run, and had complimenting colors, every thing else was Fion's part to assess. If Fion liked the cheetah, it would be that cheetah, if for some reason Fion disliked something about them, they would look for a new one.
"Well, you're welcome to stick around as long as you like, the Makono love visitors and you can place bets if you have anything of value to bet with." She paused and looked around to see if she could spot her sisters pale coat, "I need to get back to training anyways."
Club Snails We can end it here or you can add another post if you like. Aoife still needs to meet your other cheetah.
