Minos padded along at a leisurely pace through the grass, watching as it bent around him while he walked. He swished his tails back and forth, grinning to himself. His bright eyes gazed about, taking in his new surroundings. It was true, he wasn't terribly far from home, but he was still somewhere new, as he took a path he usually didn't today. For some reason it just felt like the right thing to do, although Minos was generally a creature of habit.
He was enjoying his walk, and it was a fine day anyways. The sun was shining and the sky was full of nice, fluffy clouds. There was just a slight breeze, which rustled leaves and grass and blew the scents of flowers and trees across the field he was in. Couldn't get much better than this, he was thinking to himself and decided to stop for a moment and smell the flowers.
The brown-coated male reclined to his haunches and lifted his muzzle to the air, taking deep breaths and sighing happily.

Her first internal memo, simply enough, was that it was awfully green out here.
Her second was that she could smell honeysuckle.
Her third was that honeysuckle had always been her favorite.
Her fourth was that she'd be sure to find fluttering pounceables so long as she followed her nose.
And her fifth was that that, that right there... whatever that was most certainly wasn't green.
And all at once her hackles raised.
Ornella lowered herself to her haunches, first and foremost, and also with stunning celerity. She'd never been known to trust strangers... well, not strangers that were adults, anyhow; and her expression shamelessly gave away this subconscious rule. Her eyes were narrowed and her freckles were distorted by a scowl, because that silky glob of brown was probably the type to kick butterflies or something, she decided unreasonably.
His strides were much wider than hers, and all at once she realized that she was following him. Furthermore, she was having trouble keeping up. Although she didn't entirely know why she was even trying to keep up. What was she going to do, anyhow? White knight some butterflies just because he was...
... speaking of butterflies, there was this one that was doing some lazy circles around her antennae, and she couldn't help but watch it with immense mystification. She was nearly cross-eyed and wholly distracted, and it took a minute or so before she remembered what she was doing.
Crap! She lost him.
Uhh. No wait. He was sitting right there.
Crap! Had he seen her?
Ornella quickly played possum. She held her breath and everything. So it was a bit disappointing that he didn't even notice her; too busied by the scent of flower and the notion that he was alone in this field to even consider paying her feigned-lifeless body a visit.
And how rude!
Some sort of bravado must had delivered itself unto her with that previous thought; because all at once and quite unexpectedly, Ornella was pouncing upon poor Minos's back. "Roar!" She belted out, rather lamely, her tails wagging in all different directions. "Face the wrath of her excellency Ornella, queen of the butterfl-uuughs!" His fur was quite slick, the pixie decided just prior slipping from him and face-planting directly into the soft soil of the path.
