Hel stood out in the hall of the reaper dorms, double checking the content of her bag before she went into battle. Tub of stew. Check. Some rolls. Check. Silverware. Check. Bowls. Check. Apple cider. Check. Cups. Check. Napkins? ….******** the napkins.
Hel Brynhildr was ready for battle. A battle she was going to win. Not just for herself, but for her sister as well. She’d been a horrible sister as of late, she knew she had been. She had finally crawled out of that pit she had been in though, and she felt ready to whole heartedly tackle everything again. She didn’t think she could try to handle Freya when she was struggling under the weight of her own problems, but now that she had sorted through them…it was time to be strong. It was time to be there for her older sister.
The wingless valkyrie took a deep breath, straightening her posture as she glared at the door ahead of her. Time to steel herself for uh…not just battle…but the inevitable outburst that was sure to happen from Freya because of her appearance as well.
Ready to go, Hel marched forward and pounded her fist on Freya’s door.
“SIIIIIIIIIIIIISTER ~ !” The ghoul cried out obnoxiously, just because she could.

Freya was all too happy to hear her sister's voice calling out for her. She toddled weakly over to the door, yawned as she opened it, and gave her sister a wide, happy grin.
The grin froze on her face as she saw the change that had taken over her sister. It wasn't a bad thing, but she hadn't expected it. She was just about to compliment her sister on just how different she looked, when she smelled it.
...
"NOPE!"
The door slammed shut in Hel's face.

“Hello sis—“
Door slam.
The ghoul stood there for a long while, possibly shocked that for the first time in her seventeen years of existence, that Freya just slammed a door in her face.
Oh Hel no.
“FREYAAAAA!” Hel shrieked, pounding her fist on the door again. “You open this door right jackin' now!”

A small note slid under the door, even as Hel whacked away at it. The note was folded neatly in half, and if opened, said the following.
"Nope."
There was a little heart drawn on the bottom, and one had to wonder how Freya made the note so fast, as it showed up within seconds of the door slamming.

The paper didn’t escape Hel’s attention, and she immediately reached down to swipe it, opening it and scowling loudly.
The ghoul crumpled it and chucked it down the hall.
“COWARD!” She roared. “YOU ARE A ******** COWARD! FREYA BRYNHILDR OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW OR I WILL ******** TEAR IT OFF ITS HINGES. DO NOT TEST ME!” Someone was still very much hot blooded.

And someone was equally as hot blooded as her sister, despite her lack of consumption lately.
"I WILL OPENS TEH DOORS IF YEH GETS RID OF THAT FOODS YEH BROUGHTS TEH FORCEFEEDS ME! Thinks I don't knows what yehr plans is, my crumpet?! Who complained to yeh, was it Herryk? Was it Kettil? WELL I DON'T CARES, YEHR NOT GOINGS TEH GETS ME TEH EATS THAT, SO YEH MIGHT AS WELLS-"
Too much yelling made her choke on her own spit, and she stopped there to cough wildly for a moment.

“I AM NOT GETTING RID OF THE FOOD, SO OPEN THE ******** DOOR OR I WILL TEAR IT DOWN!” Hel snarled back. “No one complained to me! This is me making sure that you are taking care of yourself! Which you are no—“ The ghoul paused as her sister dissolved into a coughing fit on the other side of the door, and her eyes widened in concern. It only help to further her resolve though to see this through.
She pounded on the door again.
“I am only saying this once more, Freya.” Hel growled. “Open the jack damn door.”

It wasn't that she didn't believe her sister would break her door down. She had every ounce of faith that the ghoul would try. She just.. couldn't give in. Not about this. Never about this.
So if Hel wanted in, she was going to have to do it the hard way. Freya backed away from the door, curled up on her couch, and pulled a blanket around her body, sheltering herself from the phantom gust of cold that made her skin tingle and goosebump.
"I'm not openings teh doors, Hel. Not so longs as yeh has that foods with yeh."
Goodbye, door. She knew you well.

The door was ******** then. Royally.
The ghoul, just for the sake of knocking down an obstacle between her and her sister’s well being, went ballistic. The reaper kicked and threw her body against the door repeatedly. Bang, after bang, after bang, after bang, until finally the poor door came off of its hinges and landed on the ground in Freya’s room.
Hel’s chest heaved from the exertion, and dark red eyes narrowed in immediately on her sister who was pathetically curled up on the couch. The ghoul marched into the room, but paused to pick the door back up and lean it back against the door frame. After that, she kicked off her boots, making it clear she was staying for a while and then marched on over to her sister.
“I would say you looked good, sister, but that would be lying.” The reaper sneered, not at all pleased with how she had to get into the room. She then parked herself onto the couch next to her sister, and busied herself with pulling out the items for their impromptu lunch date.

When the hinges fell, and the door slammed down on the ground, Freya actually thanked Odin. Hel could have shattered the entire door itself - and that would have been a mess that Freya did not look forward to. At least now, once she managed to get her sister to leave her alone, she could keep the door up and keep some semblence of a closed room until it could be fixed. This was much better!
So she was glad that her sister brought the door down in such a way. But that was all she was glad for.
"And I would says yeh looks likes a valkyrie, but that woulds be lying." Oooh, someone was playing dirty.

Oh. Hel could have handled just about any comment without even batting an eye lash…but that statement. That statement right there…that hit deep, and for a moment, a look of hurt, confusion, and loss was reflected in Hel’s eyes. Yeah. Maybe she really wasn’t a valkyrie anymore. She didn’t have wings, and she didn’t even truly look like a Brynhildr sister anymore…and that thought stung. This thought that maybe she didn’t belong.
The ghoul shook her head though, and pushed her thoughts to the side for now. This wasn’t about her. This was about Freya and she was determined to see this through, to get her to feeling better through any means possible. “Ya, and you know what? Broom sticks are not valkyries, either.” Hel got the tub of stew out, along with a bowl, and uncapped the lid, pouring a bit in. She then pulled out a spoon and a roll, dropping them into the bowl, and held it out to Freya.
“Eat.”

Freya's entire life up to now had been spent protecting Hel from anyone who dared speak ill of her beloved, favorite sister.
Today, she was that person. And there had been no one there to protect the ghoul from her. There was no greater shame than the feeling that settled upon Freya at that moment, and it was evident in her expression. She was the monster she'd fought so hard to keep away from Hel. And now, the ghoul was trying to feed the monster.
Freya reached out for the bowl, only to knock it out of Hel's hands.
"I will not."

She should have expected that really, should have had a tighter grip on the bowl, but she didn’t. The bowl was knocked out of her hands, and its contents ended up all over Freya’s floor, the spoon clattering noisily. Hel stared at the waste of food for a long moment, her expression flat, before she turned back to her sister.
“Why?”

She knew the answer would just enrage Hel further. She couldn't be honest with her sister, because she couldn't even be honest with herself, and the thought made her pull away even further, tightening the blanket around herself and refusing to look at the ghoul in front of her.
"Yeh wouldn't understands. Nobody understands."
That was the understatement of the year.

Hel’s brows furrowed as she stared at the ghoul who tightened the blanket around her. Some…shell of her sister. This wasn’t her sister. No…it was some…Something.
“Ya. You are right. I do not understand, because you are not telling me anything. Why, Freya? Why are you resembling a walking bag of bones? That is not good for you! It is not healthy! You need to stop this foolishness right now, and start eating again!”
