Kettil was bored just hanging about in his dorm. He was bored hanging out on campus. Kettil was pretty much bored in general and thus he took his Owl and wandered off campus and went for a walk to try and find something to inspire him. Maybe he needed a new hobby?

His eyes flicked up at the soaring figure of his familiar as she just coasted along on the air currents. He often wondered what it was like to actually fly. The Muut could get some of the experience by the special connection between himself and his familiar but...

Of course there was Freya who offered to try and lift him to the air but he doubted she could do that even when she had more weight to her and he wasn't sure she had that sort of strength anymore now that she'd...

...A frown crossed over his face as he looked at his surroundings and found he was in front of the Maul now but instead of wandering in he lingered outside on the sidewalk quietly balancing on the curb. After a few moments Endzela flew down to perch on his shoulder unsettling his balance enough to cause him to actually push his arms out and try to regain a sense of balance teetering side-to-side as if he was drunk. Endzela's own wings spread out to keep her own balance as her claws dug into the shoulder.

"OWOWOWOW, ENDY...AUGH," Kettil called out and despite his complaints she didn't change perch.

"You were bored~, now you're not!" Endzela said with a bit of smugness in an otherwise harried tone as she tried not to fall herself.

Hm.

Hel was staring at the contents of her bag as she left the Maul. Who knew she’d have to buy more undergarments? Oh well. It happened. With new changes came a new wardrobe, after all. Growth and all that.

The reaper paused, looking up from her bag though as a shout echoed in her ears, belonging to a somewhat familiar voice. Not that she knew the voice per se, but she had heard it recently at Battle of the Bands…and the boil himself was vaguely familiar. Freya’s best friend, if she recalled correctly…

Freya…

With the thin valkyrie in mind, the ghoul strode towards Kettil. “OI! YOU!” She cried, her voice lowering a tad once she was close enough. “You are Freya’s friend, ya?” Just to triple check. The ghoul came to a stop before him, resting hand on her hip as she looked down at him and held her bag in the other.

Kettil was so into trying to keep his balance that the sudden shout toward him made him startle and he stumbled forward causing Endzela to let out a small cry and take flight or risk falling to the ground despite Kettil's arms moving to catch her just in case. As he held onto empty air he glanced over at the one that addressed him and blinked a bit blankly for a moment or two and then broke into a bit of a grin, "Yeah, I'm Freya's friend."

...Wait was admitting to that going to get him in trouble?

The couple of times he tried to interact with her it didn't end up like hoped it would but maybe this was going to be good? Well technically Battle of the Bands went well, she didn't fling an insult at him for what he said.

Please be good.

"Name's Kettil," He offered hoping that it wouldn't end up poorly for him. He straightened up a bit from his hunched over position.

Hel was leo-squinting at Kettil.

Hmm.

Not only was this Freya’s friend…if she recalled correctly, this was one of Freya’s best friends…one that she talked to a lot. He was also with her in Battle of the Bands…The ghoul looked thoughtful, her brows furrowing in concentration. Maybe he’d know what was up with her, then? Only one way to find out!

The ghoul strode over to the boil, all confident and not at all seeming to care about their past few interactions. She came to a stop in front of the boil and squatted on the ground, resting her arms on her knees. “So if you are her friend…then you can tell me what is going on with my bird brain sister then…who appears to be eating like a bird as well, ya, Kettil?” She paused for a moment. “Name is Hel.”

He didn't object to her presence nearing him nor did he really move away as he just settled where he was and for a brief moment he was relieved that he wasn't in trouble for something he possibly didn't do. The relief went to concern as the reason for this interaction was put to him. He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as Endzela perched on a water hydrant nearby.

"Well, I am not sure of the exact reasonin' behind it, Hel, but I think I caught her on the start of it," he looked up at the dark fleshed ghoul with a concerned expression, "an' to be honest with ya it scares me," he said softly.

He seemed to tilt his head down, "See, we had a bet goin' on who could eat more through a contest at a buffet and we set a time an' everything," Kettil explained. "Then when I went to get her so we could settle the score...She suddenly didn't want to. Freya pretty much tried everythin' to keep me outside. She seemed pretty beat up over somethin'. She mentioned wantin' to train t'get stronger."

Kettil’s words were very disconcerting. Hel’s brow twitched. This was…so uncharacteristic for her. Not only did Freya not want to eat…she was also backing down from challenges? That was not her sister at all…

Huh…I see.” The ghoul rubbed her chin. “This is very troubling…Do you know what she is beat up over…or what she is training for?” The quickest way would probably be asking her sister directly…but Hel wanted to see if she could gleam any extra information out of this reaper first before she went and tackled her sister. Who knew. Maybe he would tell her something that Freya might not…

His usually friendly expression turned to frustration at Hel's question, "She wouldn't tell me Jack All," he huffed softly, "Despite promising me that she wouldn't hide secrets from me, she hides a lot."

Endzela let out a small quiet hoot of her own but otherwise said nothing on the subject. What could she say? She was worried sick but didn't know how to help either.

"She just... It is like she is shutting down. I don't know...how to help her or bring it up to her that there is something wrong while I smile and have fun with her hoping that maybe...She'll finally reach out to me or someone," he gave a short laugh and started to pick himself up, "Some friend I am."

The ghoul quietly listened to the reaper, nodding her head. Heh. Sounded like her stubborn assed sister, that’s for sure. She tried to shut down on her too…before Amity…with that whole Thor thing…huh. Where was Herryk in all of this, she was wondering now as well. She hadn’t heard about the boil in a while…Her brows furrowed.

Ha…!” She suddenly snorted. “Well, Kettil…let me tell you something, and you might not like it, and you might think it is wrong, but I can assure you, it is not. Freya and I…we have one thing very much in common…we are stubborn creatures…and if you want us to fold, you need to play on our level. Right now…you are not. You are caving to Freya. I hope you are a stubborn a** as well, because if you want to crack Freya, you are going to need to be!” The ghoul rocked on her heels a bit, grinning.

Be direct.” Hel smacked her fist into her palm. “Just go for it. We do not beat around the bush. You tell her how you feel…and you keep at it. If you truly do care for her, you will settle in for a long battle. It will be vicious. She will be mean, she will be ruthless, she will cry that you are hurting her, but you need to press forward. Do you understand?”

Kettil actually stared at Hel and listened to her. He knew the games that Freya liked to play with him, games that included logging off of HIM mid-'fight' or just walking away from him in a huff if he did something she didn't approve of, little things like that that both endeared her to him as well as annoy the ever loving crap out of him. Things that he wished he could just almost wring her neck for if only he didn't adore her so much.

"Oh, I can be pretty damn stubborn," he assured after she'd asked him if he understood and even gave her a short nod, "I think I need to be tougher with her then," he said thoughtfully and he glanced over at his Owl and seemed thoughtful for a long moment. Should he bring Endy with him when he finally wanted to confront Freya?

Kettil reached up and rubbed the back of his neck as he turned his attention back to Hel, "I just was caught very off guard when she started behavin' this way. It was like ... almost out of nowhere that she cracked - at least for me. So I didn't know what else to do but back down, y'know? Thought maybe her boilfriend..."

Pause. Small frown. Where was that big black oaf? In this whole chat not even Hel had mentioned him.

Well, that is good, then. I hope you have the actions to back up those words.” Hel rested her head in her head now, idly rocking on her heels as she conversed with Kettil. “Ya, you need to be tougher with her…a lot tougher.” The ghoul nodded her head. “No, I understand…I did not know my sister was in such a state until I saw her at Battle of the Bands…” Now that was a shock…and Hel couldn’t help but feel like she was a horrible sister for not knowing sooner but…she couldn’t beat herself up about it. She just needed to do what she could now and that was where all her energy needed to go.

At the mention of her boilfriend, Hel shrugged. “Ah, I do not know his whereabouts, either…nor am I going to go look for him.” If he wasn’t around, Hel wouldn’t bother, especially when it could be used towards Freya. “But…do not wait on him, Kettil. Why put off action to someone else when you are just as capable? That is why nothing gets done usually…people believe that someone else will stand up to rise to the call…no…just rise and do it yourself.” She grinned.

He grinned at the dark Valkyrie and nodded a bit, "You bet I can back it up and I promise, Hel, I'll do everything in my power that I can do to help her. Freya just needs to get the idea that she just can't run over me anymore like she has been or rather like I've been letting her do," he seemed more confident now but then it didn't take a lot to talk him up and to motivate him. Some well placed words and some energy behind those words and Kettil was wound up and ready for action so to speak.

On the topic of Herryk he let out a small grunt, "I am not going to lie but that disappoints me a lot," he mused thoughtfully. "I am sure he has his own problems and goals but ..." It wasn't that Kettil didn't currently experience his own relationship worries and woes but he just kept trucking along with hope in his heart and a spring in his step. "You're right. I can't just sit on my a** and wait for her Dark Knight to come tromping in to save her from herself. If I did that then it'd be too late."

Endzela was pretty proud of her Reaper and the way he gathered up the strength and conviction needed for the situation at hand, "Kettil can do anything," she encouraged cheerfully uttering a small hoot after.

Well good, glad to hear it! Ya…you give that ghoul an inch and she takes up nine jack damn miles. You can not let her get away with this…not this…Push is going to come to shove, and you can count on the fact she might shove back…but if you really want to see her get better, you will hang in there.” Hel paused, and then rolled her shoulders idly. “Ya. I know. I am disappointed too but…eh. Things happen.” This was speaking on her whole experience with Mot, after all. Things happen.

The ghoul nodded her head again, looking over at his familiar as she piped up as well. “Ya. I hope you can as well. As her sister…there is only so much I can personally do. But you…as her friend…it brings a whole other level of comfort and security…” Hel trailed off for a moment. “To be validated and supported by someone who is not your family…” She was thinking of Mac as she said that. “It is truly a wonderful thing.” Now realizing she was musing, the ghoul chuckled and shook her head a bit. “Well…I would stick around but…I feel like my deed here is done for now. There are matters to attend to, ya?”

Hel held out her fist to the reaper in a friendly gesture.

Good luck. Fight hard. You need to win, for her sake.”

Kettil could do nothing but laugh at Hel's observation on Freya's ways and gave a small nod, "She does at that. She is very strong willed but loyal. Those are qualities I like about her," he said simply with a bit of a quiet sigh. He let Hel muse with a small tilt to his head and a bit of a half smile. "Those are nice feelings indeed."

Endzela stared back at Hel and let out a small sound but for the most part the Owl was just content to observe the exchange and seemed rather pleased with it all.

He offered a bit of a nod as Hel seemed about to leave an arm lifted and they shared a fist bump simple and pure with Kettil uttering a small "Boom," at the contact made between them for the brief second, "You have a rest of the day an' ... thanks a lot for the guidance. I was really at a loss. I plan on winning, I don't go in to lose~," he smiled at her and then held his arm out to Endzela signaling that he was ready to go do some shopping.

Before he walked away he looked over at her, "I hope we can hang out again, it was real nice talkin' with ya," he grinned and then disappeared into the maul.

Endzela let out a soft, "Good bye Lady Hel~."

Hel snorted at the sound effect Kettil made as they fist bumped, and after the ghoul leapt to her feet, making sure she had her bag.

Ah, no need to thank me…just doing what I can, that is all.” That did make her feel good though…she had guided someone in the right direction. This made her think about what Hyde had said about being a proud aid to the guidance counselor and helping others out. She snorted softly again, shaking her head before waving a hand. “See ya…ugh! No ‘lady’, it is just Hel!” She snorted in amusement once more, and then spun on her heel, heading back to the dorms.
