Yes, this is a thread about BOREDOMS, the massive musical odyssey led by musical mastermind Yamatsuka Eye which has spiderwebbed into a variety of secondary bands and solo projects. It consists of Yamatsuka Eye on too many things, Seiichi Yamamoto on guitar, Hira on bass and dozens of different drummers.

Here's an article on the controversy surrounding the latest Boredoms album announcement!

I just heard a song from their album Onanie Bomb Meets The Sex Pistols where the singer just burps for like a whole minute at the end of a song.

xd He's crazy.

Actually I haven't heard much from their earlier pure noise output. I do have some videos, which are crazy. I prefer the psychadelic stuff they released later on, like Vision Creation Newsun. I love that album. I bought the US release.

I can't find that here. I need to look in more stores! Yeah, their early stuff is pretty bizarre and you need to have a unique taste to appreciate it. I also have Chocolate Synthesizer which was forgettable. Maybe I'm just not into experimental music like I thought I was.

I ordered it on Amazon. There are some good reviews of Boredoms stuff on pitchforkmedia, especially Super Are and Vision Creation Newsun. And the editorial/customer reviews on Amazon's entry for VCN are entertaining also.

I know. I'm dying of guilt now. I just wanted to show everyone what I was selling, I didn't mean for you to bid on them. gonk crying

Why are you guilty? I wanted to buy the CD and it's cheaper on eBay. You just happened to be selling it.

I don't know what you'll think of it. It's -very- experimental. It's not straight up rock or anything. There -is- a reason I'm selling. I'll probably throw the latest one I just got in a bit.

I've already heard it and like it. Except the first track, 'Acid Police.' That one sucked.

Yeah, that killed my mood for the rest of the album.

Heh, at least you know what to expect. 3nodding

I don't think I can actually point out a song I actually liked. Hence the selling. blaugh Well, I don't think I seriously listened to it, anyway.

I need to hear Vision Creation Newsun or whatever its called. I listen to them sometimes, but not as often as other bands. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll run into more cheap albums from them.
