It was a bright and sunny day. Not too hot, not to cold. However there was no wind.. That means standing in one spot for several moments would cause the animal to burn from the heat of the sun. And of course that's what is starting to happen to the little leopard cub lounging out in the middle and snoozing.
She didn't know she would get so hot, that is until Serua woke up feeling awfully parched. She stretched her little paws out and dug into the ground before licking her muzzle and staring off into the distance a little dazedly.
If it weren't for the sunlight beaming down on her... she could just spend her days laying and sleeping. What fun.. but no, this cub has to get herself up. And go eat. So says her stomach which growled loudly, and the tongue that felt like sandpaper in her mouth.
Maybe she'll go find some water first.. An she begins heading carefully off towards the nearest oasis.

 Where she was in the water, she didn't know how hot it was. It felt so good to be in the water, away from her siblings, splashing about. The little girl giggled as she tried to catch fish with her teeth. Of course, she hadn't ever done this before, so she was making it up as she went along. Her gray fur was even darker than usual. The odd eyes she possessed were narrowed in concentration as a bold fish came up to her toes and started nibbling them.
She squealed a little more as it did and then pushed her face into the water, trying to grab at the fish with her teeth. However, all she got was a mouth full of water and then drank it down happily. It was a good, clean thing, this water. Cool, but not cold. Not the coldest in the world, but definitely better than out there in the heat.
Walking over here, the pads of her paws felt like they were being burned off completely! Sighing, she just laid down and let the water envelope her to her neck. "Aaah.."

The walk to the water was taking almost forever for her to reach there. The hot ground of the land was beginning to chafe and burn the pads of her paws. Desperate to get out of this heat now, wide awake in concentration, the leopard started running as quickly as she could. She's not all that fast, and the heat was getting to her, but the determination set the girl to move a little more faster than normal.
However she was still just a cub, and distracted with each noise she heard. The little ears on her head twitched about at each unique sounds. Many times it was the tweets of the birds in the sky. Other times it was the pitter of land critters running with her to escape the heat. Serua was beginning to have fun along the way, giggling to herself.
But then a curious sound, as she approaches the little river. It was.. splashing? Someone else was in there! Oh what fun, maybe they could play with her.
She began to slow down, and approach quietly, wanting to make sure whoever was in the water wasn't a predator that might get her-- but once her eyes take in the little one in front of her... she noticed that.. all there was a head.
And Serua screams loudly. "Ahhh! Oh no nonono, Oh no!" Because of the glare of the water to her eyes, Serua has assumed that there was only a floating leopard cub head in the water.

A scream caught the gray cub's attention and she bolted right up and out of the water, thinking there was a snake or a crocodile there. Scrambling back onto the grass that grew around the water, she looked down fearfully and blinked. Oh, there was nothing there!
"Why'd ya scream if there's nothing in the water?" Sala asked, getting back into the spot she'd been in previously and laid back down. It was much to hot to get out of the water like that. The sun was moving and shading her as she peered up at the pinky-purple girl. "....Hey, you're a leopard! I usually only see lion cubs around!" She said, looking interesting, a grin on her face. "Come in the water, it's fine. I'm Sala. Come on. I'll share the Shade. It's gotta be hot right?"
Sala scooted over in the shade and showed the other cub there was plenty of space for her to get in with her. It might not be a deep watering hole, but it was better than laying in the hot sand just outside the oasis.

She was just about to started running around in fear. Honestly she didn't expect to see a head in the water-- but she stumbles backwards as soon as the other girl pops out of the water unharmed. Blinking several times she shook slightly from the shock and peered closer.
"O-oh. oh. oh gosh... um, I'm sorry. I.." She laughs awkwardly and pads forward to the little oasis slowly, sighing quietly in relief that there was now both shade and no threat of harm.
"I thought that something ate your body.. and.. heh, sorry.." Sheepishly she laughed before sinking in besides her and grinning back. What she said was true, this was the first time she's seen another Leopard cub around!
"Thanks, this feels nice.. I'm Serua, and I've only seen lion cubs too! I wonder why." she wiggles her little paws in the water and sins down slowly with a louder sigh, ears falling down into a more relaxed position. She could just lose herself to sleep now-- but no that would be too rude! Plus she wanted to get to know the other leopard cub. Since it was such a rare occasion after all...

"You thought I was just a floating head?" She giggled loudly at that and splashed a bit as her tail went wild behind her. Her giggling rang out in the empty air and she shook her head a little more before grinning wide.
"I think it's 'cause leopard are just too good to go galivanting with the others, like lions do! You know, we're much more elegant than they are." She puffed up with pride and laughed a little more. "Say, Serua, do you know how to catch fish? I've been trying but I can't do it! I haven't been taught to, so I'm trying to learn by myself. I'm really hungry!" The way she talked was really animated. She had many different facial expressions. It wasn't just her face, she talked with her ears, her body, her tail. The movements caused waves in the small watering hole.
However, Sala couldn't help it! it was just how she did things! Everything was exciting and got an excessive amount of movement an glee from her. So far, nothing bad had ever happened to this cub.

She giggled as well. Something about this cub allowed her to be more free and at peace than when she's by herself. Probably because this was the first real interaction she has had in.. nearly forever! But Serua didn't mind. She just watched with curiosity, and grinned widely. "Yeah! I got so scaared!!" she says while making a little pout, but then laughs some more at watching Sala talk.
Her little pinkish paw reaches out to try and catch the tail that twitches as she talks. "Elegant!! Yeah! Yeah definitely more elegant! Though not as fast as cheetahs, have you ever seen a cheetah run? Oh my gosh it's.. so.. wow!!" Now she turns her attention to the other girl's face and grins widely with a large nod. "I can fish! I catch lotsa fishes. I taught myself too! Come follow me!"
Slowly she stood up.. and took a few small and quiet steps.. she moves her body with the waves of the water, trying not to disturb the fish. Although, she does fail a few times as she reaches a paw out noisily. This causes her to grow frustrated and makes her pounce on anything moving. After a little while of this, she lifts her head triumphantly, holding a large bleeding fish in her maw.
"Phere!!" She was not so elegant at hunting, not yet.

Sala got up and followed the other cub and watched her as she fished. Just as Sala was beginning to think the other cub had been lying about being a fisherman, she caught a big fish! Her eyes went wide and a squeal broke the serenity of the oasis. "That's so cool!" She half screamed. Her little paws started dancing around the other, scaring off more fish before laughing. "You should eat that one! You caught it. I can try to catch mine and we can have some lunch together! Because I always thought lunch with friends would be exciting. I don't know, 'cause I usually eat with my siblings." She said calmly, tilting her head from side to side.

Her stomach growled loudly, as if responding to Sala's suggestion on eating the fish first. But Serua shook her head quickly and padded to the grassy area, plopping the fish down a little away from the water, so it wouldn't end up jumping back in. She then hurriedly came back and look determined.
"I want to eat with you, but If you can't catch a fish I don't want you to go hungry!! Lemme watch you and try to help! I know I didn't do so well, but.. it helps if you.. If you try to corner the fishies near your paw, have a bunch of them around!!" She nods quickly, looking determined once more.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you catch a bigger fish than me! yeah! So we can eat together. And be great friends." Her own head tilts and she grins widely, licking the left over fish blood off her maw.

"Ah, you don't have to make sure I have a bigger fish! I'll be happy with a small fish, too!" This had the cub quite flustered. Now she would have to try in front of her? Sala's cheeks taitned pink as she blushed hard and cleared her throat.
With the tips in mind, she tried it a few times, each time coming up with absolutely nothing but water in her mouth. Snorting and huffing, she was getting impatient and just thrashed about for a moment, letting out a frustrated scream. It was more like a growl/scream than an actual scream, but the frustration was there.
"I can't do it!"
