Naida glanced around the mountainous area. Nothing here looked familiar. She decided that was a good thing, meaning that she was not traveling in a circle. On the other hand, it also meant that she had no idea where she was. When she was younger she thought she had a great sense of direction. If she wandered too far from her den it didn't take her long to figure out how to get back. Out here though it was difficult. To her, everything looked the same.
She continued to walk until she saw a small pond a distance away. With a grin on her maw, she quickened her pace. It had been days since she last saw water. She would never understand why anyone would choose to live away from it. Most of her life was spent near water. When she left her family, that was when she also left her ocean home. It had been a difficult choice for her to make, however she didn't regret it at all. She wanted to see the world and if that meant being away from water for a short period of time she could handle it. Eventually she would return to the ocean that she loved so dearly.
Carefully, not wanting to disturb the fish, she stepped into the pond and let the water soak her paws. She closed her eyes, and let herself imagine she was home again. It was a nice feeling, and she felt that she needed it. If she planned on being away from home for such a long time she knew she needed to have something to keep her from missing it too much. She decided that she would take a short break from traveling. Perhaps spend a day there in the pond where it was quiet and peaceful.
