Syd took a long sniff of her pink rose before heading out the dorm, her bikini top revealed and her bikini bottom covered with khaki pants and boots. She had a towel hanging over her shoulder and a happy song on her lips as she started for the jungle. It had been far too long since she'd gone to the cove--and sure it was a long walk, but it was SUCH a beautiful day (at 10AM--she had hopes to get there before evening) and she wanted to go for a swim!

She wasn't thinking about how obvious she was being. She was admiring the breeze and hoping that she had packed enough food and juice boxes for the day in her bag.

Otto hadn't been there in a long time - the secret place he'd found with Syd. He'd been distracted, busy. A sleepless night had Otto up at an early hour. What to do now but train? He didn't really want to go to the training grounds right now. He didn't need the strain of a spar. Maybe some cardio?

The blonde teen jogged out into the jungle after running around the island a while. That's when he remembered the cove. There was a place to swim there. He didn't have swim trunks with him, but if he was alone, it wouldn't matter anyway. He'd just swim with his shorts on.

The cove was quaint, quiet. No one but him. Peaceful and tranquil.

Otto breathed a sigh, stripping down to his khakis before jumping right in. He swam around a bit before letting himself float face up and star out at nothing.

As Syd arrived, she'd find discarded clothing scattered across the ground. Otto didn't seem to notice her yet.

Syd paused as she saw the clothing scattered on the beach. She'd walked for a long while--and her cove was already occupied? How did that happen? But she wouldn't be lonely! That was important! This was an unexpected gift!

"Hello!!" she called once she reached the beach. "I didn't expect anyone out here!" She looked more closely, realizing who it was. "Good morning, Otto!" she called. "How's the water?"

That... really didn't sound like Syd. But no matter what Izy told her, she didn't seem to realize there was something wrong with her.

Who was that? Otto didn't recognize that voice.

The teen straightened up, treading water now and turning to see who was on the shore. Wait.. wasn't that Syd? Since when was she so.... that?

"Uuuuh... it's nice?" He called back, his brows furrowed uncertainly. "Find out for yer damn self!"

"Good idea, thank you!" Syd said happily (oh so happily) as she dropped her pants. She had toned up, she thought as she looked down at her body. She was still as flat as a board, but she was tougher looking. Ah, that was good, she thought as she stepped into the water. A laugh escaped her as she waded through the foam and started swimming once she couldn't reach the ground.

She struck out, heading for the other hunter and coming up with a grin when she was close enough. "Isn't it a beautiful day?" she asked.

Crap. She's coming this way.

<>

Shut up!

"Uuuh.. sure. Guess it's a decent.. day." Otto muttered, his irritation level beginning to rise. "The ******** is up with you?"

Syd cocked her head slightly, blinking at him in confusion. "There's something wrong with me? I was just having a good day," she said. "And we aren't covered in poop or almost dying, and there's this beautiful cove to swim in--you're a very good swimmer, you know! Did you live close to the ocean before this?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 23, 2012 6:42 pm

"I guess..." Maybe it was that Otto didn't know her very well, but he believed her. Maybe this was how she always was? Maybe that last time was a fluke?

It was plausible.

"Huh? No.. I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana." He answered in a mumble. "I just got swimming lessons when I was younger, is all. Since my cousins lived near the ocean.."

"I learned when I was sent to the YMCA," she told him. "It was free and the orphanage used them to get us off their hands three days a week. But I never liked it until I came here," she said, grinning as if she hadn't just revealed the fact she was an orphan. "Did you go to that party thing in Halloween?" she asked him curiously.

Broken family units was probably a big thing among hunters, otherwise who in their right mind would leave a good life behind for this Hell? That's how Otto saw it, though his judgements were reserved, since he kind of didn't care. "You didn't like swimmin'? Are you nuts?" Who the hell didn't like swimming, he thought?

Otto groaned, his face contorting to one of regret and disgust. "Yeaaaah... I was there."

"What was your golem?" she asked, kicking her legs to keep afloat. "Mine was this short little guy with bird feet, wings, and a snake tail or something," she told him. "I still don't know exactly what he was... Do you?"

This was a great day! She was positive that since Otto had been around longer he was just FULL of-- information<3 And the water was perfect, and--

Izy commented.

Otto's expression fell flat, his eyes starting to lose any luster to them. This chick was nuts. It was exhausting keeping afloat and attempting to understand her at the same time.

"Why the ******** would I know?" He replied sharply. "I dunno.. I was a demon or something. What does it matter anyway?"

"I think the students are interesting," she said, completely oblivious to his lack of enthusiasm. "Not... the other ones, of course," she said, looking away. She didn't even want to think about the horsemen, and she definitely didn't want to talk about them with Otto. Even with her whacked out state she wasn't that insensitive.

"Want to race?" she asked, changing the subject.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:15 pm

Interesting? Otto didn't think so. He didn't like any of them. They were weird. Strange. Not human. Besides, they shared a world with...

Yeah..

"Race?" Now that seemed like something he could do. It beat talking about Halloween. "Sure. Why not." He liked games of competition like this. Swimming was something he didn't get to do often, anyway.

"You know how far a quarter mile is?" she asked, turning to the right and pointing. "Let's see who can get there first," she went on. "Ready... set... go!" she said, diving under the water as soon as she said the word and taking off.
