Parvati sighed deeply as she looked out the entrance of the cavern’s tunnel. Well this certainly wouldn’t do as she kicked a little pebble out into the rain. It had been raining all day and the foal was getting pretty sick and tired of it. She wanted to go out and explore—take a break from the training and lectures. Not to mention she had met a little foal and wanted to see if perhaps she could find her again. But there was no way Parvati was going anywhere with it raining outside. She made a face as she kicked another small rock and turned around. Maybe she could find something interesting to do within the safety of the mountain. There were many caverns that had yet to be explored. What a wonderful opportunity! Parvati’s spirits were back up and she trotted inside the mountain with high hopes that there was something to do.

Sitting a little way back Tiamat was perched regally as she took the time to relax. This weather would usually not be such a deterrent but with her daughter still so young and in training it posed a hazard that the mother was not willing to risk. When Parvati had grown they would fly together in this weather and enjoy the droplets on their scales and wings, till then she would practise caution. It saddened for her to see her daughter so fidgety though, the foal was so spirited and determined to make the fullest of her time as she grew, it did make the elder very proud. It was no surprise then when she got that look in her eyes and started trotting into the mountain, giving her a few moments Tia got to her hooves in one swift movement and began a steady pace after Parvati.

Parvati walked along the corridor with her head dipped down a bit. All she wanted was the sun to come out so that she could go sneak off and see that other foal--Solstice. She wondered if the little filly was already standing out there in the rain. It would be an odd thing to do but the two were having private meetings at the river ever since Parvati had first explored out from the safety of her herd's home. Maybe she should sneak off again...right now? The young filly grimaced as she quickly turned around and was about to run off but saw her Mother--Tiamat moving towards her. Great. Now she was stuck inside..."Mother!" Parvati pulled a fake smile as she trotted off to the mare and softly nuzzled her foreleg.

Leaning down Tia wrapped her wings around her daughter and nuzzled gently with the fleshy part of her cheek, she enjoyed this shows of affection whether they be genuine or not. Oh Tia knew full well her daughter was full of spirit and maturing far quicker than her body and for the most part she allowed her freedom.... Well she allowed her daughter the illusion of freedom, though she had not discovered the meeting with the other foal she did follow Parvati at a distance most times. Moving back she ended the embrace but kept her eyes on the foal "So where are we off to today Parvati? It better be an exciting adventure!" The elder smirked, oh yes she knew too well what her daughter was up to, and as long as it didn't involve venturing out into the rain she would allow it.

Parvati gulped quietly as she looked to her Mother. She was pretty sure that the mare hadn’t known about her daughter’s secret meetings with a foal of another herd, but Parvati knew that her Mother had to have known about something. She sighed deeply without shaking the smile from her lips as she gazed up into the mare’s eyes. “Oh, I’m not going anywhere. Just galloping about,” she said with a sweet innocent tone. It was of course a pure lie. Parvati wanted to visit that foal, but the trick now was being able to escape and she knew very well that her Mother wouldn’t let her out of her sight. “In fact there’s nothing to do,” she sulked back with furrowing eyebrows. “It’s raining out there and I’m sick of it. It’s been raining all day. Can’t you change the weather? Can’t anyone here make the sun come out?” Parvati looked around as she flexed out her talons. She really did hate being cooped up within the mountain. “Mother, can we swim? Can our kind swim?” she asked, changing subjects rather quickly as she trotted around her Mother’s body with a little hum escaping from her vocals.

Tiamat felt a pang at her heart that her daughter felt the need to lie to her, but then wasn't this normal for a rebellious child? Though Parvati was her first she could remember from others of the flight that children came in all shapes and sizes and acted just about every way under the sun despite how you parented them. So she moved the feelings away and dismissed them, her daughter was just bored and frustrated, well best to find them something to do! And perhaps in the process prove that she wasn't as boring as the young drakkling perceived.

"We can indeed, though we are hindered by our wings somewhat. Some of our kind can breath under water, depends on the line the dragon comes from. We cannot however, though when you are older and your wings strengthen enough for flight they will endure the strain of water."

"Now" Tia could change the topic just as her daughter could and though she enjoyed question and answers sessions with her daughter there was the case of bordem to address. "As I do not know of a being that can alter the weather perhaps we could explore these caverns?" They hadn't set up base for long and though the flight had it's tucked away location there where vast amounts of caves and mountain in between.

The rain didn’t show any signs of clearing up and the young foal knew very well that her Mother couldn’t alter the weather conditions, so Parvati decided that some exploring within the mountain seemed quite all right. She nodded her head with a flick of her tail before skipping right up to Tiamat with a glorious smile. Parvati enjoyed spending time with her Mother and was glad of the bond that they shared even though the young foal could be quite rebellious. “Lead the way,” Parvati’s smile blossomed as she gently nudged Tiamat’s leg before looking around them. The caverns seemed quite huge and Parvati had only explored in a couple ones—much too scared to venture into some of the deeper, darker tunnels on her own. Her tail flickered in delight and her ears propped forwards as she looked to Tiamat. Perhaps this gloomy day could become quite adventurous!
