When Kameth started complaning of itching to her during an early meal, Wykla immediantly promised him a full bathing and oiling during sunset. Quickly the young teen wolfed her food and finished off her klah in a couple gulps. She waved to the kitchen staff as she headed out. Smirking to herself that they were probably happy to see her leaving. Eating food yes, but she did not belong in kitchens.
Boots clicking on the floors she raced up to her rooms to gather the bathing supplies, oil, and oiling rags she'd need. If one itched the all itched. So dressed in her grungiest clothes she hopped onto Kameth's neck for the fast ride down to the shore. Quickly following them was a wing of firelizards. Wykla shook her head as the cries grew excited when the flits saw where they were going, and the items she carried.Kameth stopped by the shore to let his rider off, then dove into the lake waters of Trine. Within moments he was surrounded on all sides by his tiny cousins. He raised his head and blew out a disapointed streams from his nose. These waters are so tame Mine. I wish for our ocean waters. The placid lake waters were not as exciting as the crashing waves of their Malvren home.Wykla sighed as she heard his complaint. I know, I do too. The storms are nothing here. Maybe they just hadn't been here long enough. There had always been a storm season at Malvren. We'll just have to make due until things changes. She didn't bring up the whers having to move out as she didn't want to upset dragon or flits. Wykla instead focused upon getting dragon and all nine firelizards scrubbed then oiled; though the flits proved their worth in helping with Kameth.
When the bright blue dragon was satisfied that he no longer itched, Wykla took time to be sure each of her flits was well oiled and had some personal affection time with her. It took her nearly until the sun had finished setting before the last flit had gone to find a place to curl up on Kameth. She glanced at him with a smirk; noting the various bright colors around his body like poka-dots. Someone might think he was ill if they didn't know better. Wykla leaned against her dragon's soft side to watch the sun dip down with a weary sigh.

One would think that having been in this new Weyr for a little while now might make one less frightened of every shadow that jumped about. Or flitter that popped out of between. But no such luck for the chunky bluerider and his dragon. The pair were constantly jumping at the tiniest of shadows or the lightest of sounds. But shellit! After everything they had been through, Az'rin and Qizixth had not gained any sudden courage. Especially when it came to grabbing an extra snack (or two) for Qizixth.
M-Mine? I...I am full now. Could...could we maybe...go outside? The large blue lifted his head to place it gently against his bonded's bed, somehow managing to fit inside the hut. He was too large to try and fit up there when scared now, but His could curl up with him in his wallow! I feel...cramped inside.
Az'rin reached over to pat Qizixth's snout, a fond smile crossing his face. "Sure, Qiz. That...sounds rather nice." And it did. Even if hiding in their current shared hut felt 'safer', Az'rin was not yet used to Trine.
We...don't have to go far! Just...a little...fresh air. For both of us.
With a small, shy, laugh Az'rin stood and stretched, setting his book aside - or more like shoved it under his pillow - before grabbing his boots and working them onto his feet. Once ready, Qizixth quickly squeezed out of the hut, Az'rin right on his tail. "Where should we go?" He glanced around them, a small frown forming. "I...I'm not sure...where the best places to go are..." Az'rin admitted, placing a hand against Qizixth's flank.
Lowering himself to the ground, Qizixth looked at his bonded, not needing to say anything for him to quickly scramble astride his neck. H-How about...by the lake? I-I would not mind...a nice swim...
Sounds good, Qiz. Let's go! Az'rin patted his dragon's hide affectionately before the blue sprang surprisingly lightly into the air. They didn't have far to go and upon landing, both rider and dragon froze up when they spotted another there. Oh. Oh shardit they would have to socialize! Az'rin was not skilled at that.
G-Good evening. Qizixth said shyly to the other blue, hunkering down a little so his rider could slide down - and he could look smaller than he was. Az'rin didn't move far from his dragon, cheeks lighting up slightly as he peeked over at the other rider.
"U-Umm...h-hello." Like his dragon, Az'rin spoke in a ridiculously shy tone.

It was sort of quiet. Wykla doubted that it would ever truly be quiet in an over-cramped Weyr. Still most dragons and riders were settling down for the night. I miss our weyr the most I think. These pathetic huts they have here just aren't suitable. They did with what they had to. Going so far as to share quarters; after having her own since Kameth was old enough it was something Wykla found she needed time to adjust to.
It is what they have Mine. They did not build on rock. Kameth was slightly disapproving of the last, but it hadn't been his choice. He blew soothingly out at his rider. The bright blue was positive they would get their weyr back someday.
Blue-green eyes of contentment whirled at Qizixth as the other blue landed nearby. Mine we have company. Qizixth and His. Greetings. From the blue, nine tiny heads popped up to watch the newcomer.
Wykla pulled her eyes away from the sunset to observe rider and dragon. She thought that blue might be a weyrling from Malvren. "Hello." She wondered why he sounded so unsure of himself.

M-Mine! I...I think...they may be...from home? Or at least Qizixth thought he'd picked up a sense of 'Malvren' from the other dragon. But he wasn't sure. I...I hope we aren't...interrupting you and yours. The large blue squeaked, trying to hide behind his rider partially. Which was probably more comical then he realized.
From Malvren? Az'rin swallowed and attempted a shy smile, hand absently reaching out to stroke Qizixth's head.
"We...aren't bothering you..a-are we...?" He got out, realizing that the rider was a she and oh fardles! His cheeks lit up and if possible, Az'rin became even shier and attempted to lean against (or more like behind) Qizixth's leg. Really, the pair of them were ridiculous!
L-Look mine! Look at all the...little cousins. So many of them! Qizixth crooned timidly towards all the flitters, though made no effort to get any closer. There...were a lot of them.
"Wow...you have...a lot of flitters." The chunky boy murmured before he could stop himself, and then slapped a hand to his mouth. "I-I'm...sorry! That...I was just...I-I mean..." Now he couldn't get a full sentence out right. How embarrassing!

"A bit timid is he?" She eyed the blue a moment then shrugged. "No. We were just watching the sunset and reminicing about Malvren weather. I must admit we're a bit nostalgic for the storms there." Wykla arched a brow watching the dance between rider and dragon; rider trying to hide behind dragon trying to hide behind rider. It's amazing they can ever move in the forward direction, she thought trying not to laugh.
At the mention of flitters, she did blush a bit and chuckle. "Yeah I seem to attract them somehow. That's alright. I'm Wykla of Kameth." She suddenly realized she hadn't intruduced herself yet. Right on cue, nearly all the flits took wing. Cheeping and chattering as they flew between the two blues. All except two; the gold, remained curled up on Kameth scolding that she was trying to sleep, and a bronze which landed on Wykla's shoulder.
"If they get too much just let me know and I can send them away." She rolled her eyes at the fair. Really? Did they have to make so much noise?!
Kameth flipped his overly large wings to settle them against his back in a prim gesture. You are not. Mine had just finished oiling me, and we were watching the sunset. Did Yours come to bathe you too? He watched, slightly disapproving as the blue tried to hide behind his rider.
The male shook his head with a snort. There is nothing for you to hide from here. Mine and her flits will not hurt you. Kameth rumbled with pleasure as Qizixith noted his tiny company. There are. I think Mine likes them. They are extremely helpful for baths. And to watch candidates, he added almost as an afterthought.

".... Malvren w-weather?" Az'rin seemed to perk up a little bit. So they were from home! "I...I do kind of miss the weather there as well." He admitted shyly, though didn't mention he rather liked not having the loud thunder. That tended to scare him half to death! Reaching out, Az'rin let his arm drape over Qizixth's snout, both dragon and rider seeming to relax fraction by fraction. "I miss Malvren." He added in a soft murmur, a faint hint of pink returning to his cheeks.
A grin graced his lips. She certainly did have a lot of them! "I...must admit, I don't have any of them. J-Just me and Qiz." And then belatedly - reminded by her own introduction, Az'rin squeaked and blushed for being rude yet again. "O-Oh! Oh I...I am Az'rin of Qizixth."
Said blue was sticking his head out farther, much more curious about all the little cousins settled over the other blue. The sunset is nice. A-And relaxing. Qizixth noted, head tilting to admire it for a moment before turning back to...Kameth. M-Mine and I were just...coming outside for fresh air... And then he 'meeped' almost all the flitters took flight. Qizixth ducked down as His jumped slightly. His eyes flickered between yellow and green as he tried to believe Kameth. T-There are just...so many. I...I am not used to them.
Az'rin stared wide eyed after his initial startlement, just watching all of them. It was...kind of pretty seeing all the different colored flitters flying all at once like that. "They...are pretty." He said with a small smile.

Wykla leaned against her dragon, being careful not to upset the bronze on her shoulder. "Aye, we had the best view from out weyr. It was lovely." Her face darkened for a moment as she thought about a wherhandler in her weyr. It made her so mad. A cheep in her ear brought her back to notice a tonal difference in the flit cries and a hint of red in Kameth's eyes too. She gave a cough.
"Mmmm nothing like Malvren weather for flying. Kameth loves to fly in the storms." The blue loved to fly period, but the storms provided a challenge to any flier. She took in the flits and gave a shrill whistle to get them under control again. One by one they returned back to land on Kameth, but still watching Qizixth, until one bold blue was left hovering near them. He gave a quick chirp before going to land.
"Don't have any? Is that cause you don't want any or just haven't had a chance?" She arched her brow curiously. "If you're interested in one, then I'm sure I could hold an egg for you." She had more than enough for the moment. "Now do you want to come meet mine in an orderly manor?" Wykla gave a lopsided grin to the boy. She did love her winged companions.
Kameth rumbled to the returning flits and turned his head to watch them settle. Once everyone had found a spot he turned calmer eyes on Qizixth. It is. This is why Mine likes to watch it. Fresh air is excellent. The blue agreed. It could be hard with so many dragons at Trine to find space for oneself. He watched as the other blue jumped. There is many. They will listen if you tell them to leave you alone. Mine has them well trained. There are lots more flits around than just what Mine has. You shouldn't let them bother you. He advised.

The shy boy seemed to relax ever so slightly, offering Wykla a smile. "I-I was... still in the barracks, but I loved going outside." He admitted, a hint of loss making his features fall. Qizixth nuzzled him gently and Az'rin shoved those feelings of homesickness to the back of his mind.
"Really?" He asked, glancing towards the larger blue. "Qizixth never really got the chance to. Though... storms make me... jumpy." Pretty much everything could make him jumpy, if he was being honest. But thunder in particular always got him every time. "I... wonder if he would l-like it."
I like any flying I can do with you.
Az'rin slid a hand through his hair, frowning slightly. "Just... haven't had the chance." A faint blush crossed his cheeks. "Y-You don't have... to do that!" He squeaked, clearly not used to anyone making such offers. "I-I won't say n-no to one, t-though." And now he had to meet all of hers?! Az'rin hesitated, but walked closer to Wykla and gave her a small nod. "I would... love to meet yours."
The teal blue inched closer, curiously looking at all of the flitters. Fresh air is very nice. I like the quieter areas of this Weyr. He admitted, settling himself and wrapping his tail about his legs. I... will try not to let them bother me. I rather like them.. just was caught off guard by all of Yours'. He lowered his head shyly, not wanting to offend the other blue! There weren't many dragons he could claim were 'friends'. And Kameth didn't seem too bad!

"Yeah that's the best place to watch. Don't worry Az'rin. We will get Malrvren back and set those trumpted up whers out on their tails." Her eyes flashed a moment with anger before she calmed herself. She gave herself a shake which made Boreal squawk in protest.
"There's plenty of chances to fly here, and you can always avoid storms. Though you may want to practice it sometimes. We may have to fight Thread in or nearby a storm. If you'd like Kameth and I will fly with you. He's a good storm flier and can give helpful pointers." Wykla couldn't see herself not flying in storms. They both loved it so much.
She gave a nod as if that was the answer she expected. Her brow arched at his blush and disclaimer. "No, of course I don't. However I've already got 9. You can't expect me to keep every clutch for myself. I have to find someone to give them to or they go wild. It's better knowing I give them to someone who wants one than someone who doesn't." Wykla explained her logic matter-of-factly. She grinned, it wasn't often she got to show off her group.
The teen pulled a willing Boreal from her shoulder and let the bronze sit in her hand with his tail wrapped around her wrist. "They won't bite and they are nice if you train 'em right. This is Boreal. He was my first and he's older than even Kameth."
Kameth kept himself relaxed as the other blue came closer. He noted that the pair seemed to be calming down. The weyr doesn't seem very quiet to me with everyone here. In fact it was cramped by his standards. Oh well, once they got back to Malvren all would be well. As far as Kameth was concerned, this was temporary.
Good! Understandable. Why don't you meet Emper? He is the little blue. I believe Mine plans to give Yours an egg next time one of them has a clutch. You may have to help Yours with the training and watching. He called the blue flit who cheeped happily and flew back over to Qizixth. Emper hovered and fluttered around as he protected happiness.
