"NO! I AM NOT SHOUTING IT!"
Jason folded his arms grumpily, looking at his gleaming sword which, at the moment, was demanding he called out the magical words he had said once before when he didn't have a clue how to summon him. But, since had hid some semblance of masculine pride, he was refusing the ever stubborn presence in his mind.
Which was trying to seduce him at the moment.
Zanthvos cooed into his head, which cause the moon hunter to swing his sword around trying to rid his head of that voice. Which of course, didn't work, and resulted in him sinking it into one of the training dummies, and unable to pull it out.
Wasn't this nostalgic?

Wash had made his way to the training grounds, figuring it was about time to try and get back in the swing of things. Not that he had ever really been in the swing of things, he supposed. Whatever the case, he wore Sally fully summoned on his arm again, walking through the training grounds, looking for a a quiet corner to practice -
Someone yelling, the light reflecting off a swinging blade-
THUNK.
Wash realized he was cringing, hiding behind Sally. He straightened, clearing his throat awkwardly. He didn't recognize the other hunter.
"Uh...you need some help?"

Jason had not seen the approaching hunter until his sword was lodged in the training doll, but he did notice him when he hid behind his sword.
"Ah, no, I'm...good, gungh!" He grunted, straining to pull out the blade and managing to do so, but not without falling backwards in the process.
"Sorry about that..." He said from the floor, then pulled himself back up with a sigh. He realized that, while he appeared to be of the moon division, he did not know this guy. "Ah, I'm Jason Kenneth, by the way. I don't believe I have met you before, sad to say..." He then picked up Zanthvos to make sure there were no marks on the metal.

Wash tried not to chuckle at the other man's plight.
"Washington Becker," he said warmly, offering a handshake. Sally stayed silent in his head, but he could feel her mirth.

Taking the other mans hand, Jason shook it firmly and returned the smile, before looking back at the training dummies.
"Are you here to do some training of your own?" He asked him. "It was my intention..before Zanthvos started shouting in my head again." He looked the other way, appearing a little annoyed at his weapons antics.

"Yeah, man." He looked around at the training dummies wistfully. "I never been good 'bout coming out here, it's bit me in the a** a few time, yennow? Tryin' ta get back in th' habit."
At his next remark, Wash couldn't help himself. He chucked, a deep rumbling bass. "Weapon problems, eh?" He rapped against his shield with his knuckles. "I've gotten some sass from time to time, myself."
Sass, huh?
Wash smiled again before gesturing to the other man's jacket. "So you a moon too, huh?"

"I should come here more often myself" Jason agreed, although all things considered, it was probably one of the more safer things he could be doing. At the mention of weapon problems, he sighed. "Yes...weapon problems."
Weapon problems, all the time
Forever
"Yeah, I'm a moon." He replied, steadfastly ignoring his weapon. "It allowed me to do more defending then fighting...I think"

"Yeah, sometimes it don't feel that way though. We gotta do it all, fight our own battles 'n all that." He paused, expression turning a little grim. Reflecting on darker days.
"Well...Anyway, I don't think I ever seen you 'round here neither. You new, Jason?" He leaned against a dummy. It didn't seem to mind. "Sorry, I haven't really spent much time socializin', I guess. My fault."

Wash wasn't the only one who was remembering the past. For his words reminded Jason heavily of what Killzone said, about fighting his own battles. He looked away, fists clenching but relaxing shortly as the pain and guilt ebbed away once more.
"Actually, I've been here a while, though I don't talk to others much myself." Jason explained. "I find it hard as well, and most of the time I spend just trying to keep up with the skills of everyone else." Or, as he didn't want to admit, hiding away in his bedroom and letting himself surrender to nightmares.

"Yeah man, I know the feeling. It's alright though, we all gotta go at our own pace, right?" He clapped the man on the back in a friendly fashion, then turned to face a dummy.
"Ye'know, I never understood how I wa'supposed ta use these," Wash remarked, gesturing at the dummies. "I mean..." He looked down at his shield. "Not exactly made for cuttin' people down, haha." He grinned, a flash of white in his dark face. "Maybe I'm supposed to give 'em the ol' one-two," he said, miming boxing. He made a few passes at it jokingly.
"So odd," he remarked conversationally. "Why do we get swords and shields, instead of... Well, I dunno, guns?"

"Yeah, you're right" Jason said, and was quite happy with himself when he did not stumble when he was clapped on the back. Wash's next comment made him smile, a rare sigh from the moon hunter lately. "That could be it, but maybe you're supposed to, umm, charge it with your shield?" Jason tried to mimic holding a shied and running forwards into it. "i just pretend I'm swinging my sword and hope I hit something. But the boxing idea sounds good too. If I knew how to swing a fist, I'd probably do that as well." It was safe to say he had no real practice in using his fists, more akin to getting out of a siltation by running then fighting
"Gale has a sniper rifle" Jason then said. "and I think Jerry has some sort of mobile cannon...or was it a bazooka. But if you mean us, well, having a sword isn't such a bad thing-

He knew all about charging things with the shield. That had been what he'd done when Julie-
No, it was best not to linger upon those things. Time to put it behind him.
He tuned in just as the man mentioned his friend's weapon. "Oh, it's a bazooka." Wash paused. "Might as well be a cannon though, you don' wanna be on the wrong side of that thing." He had cut it a hair close once or twice, and it had not been a heartening experience.
"Nah, man, I just mean, like..." He tried to put it into words. "I mean, you ain't never used a sword before comin' here, right? And I never used no shield."
You STILL don't use me half the time. Stubborn man.
Wash ignored the comment.
"I dunno, man, jus' seems crazy some days. Runnin' around, and in the thick o' things it almost seems like we know how t'use 'em." He could remember many a fight where it was almost like his weapon had been an extension of himself, rather than some cumbersome, awkward thing.
"Like, knights or somethin'. Surreal."

"I would also like to stay away from Clarise, her weapon..well, it's very frightening how she can use that heavy blade, I'm amazed she can pick it up"
Jason then shook his head. "No, I"ve never used a sword before coming here, but you do bring up a good point." It was odd, how most of the time he barely know the basic techniques, like to parry another hit or to block a incoming attack, but in the midst of a battle, he felt like someone else, Zanthvos, guide his actions. It was both a comforting and worrisome thought.
"Do you think it's possible for our weapons to take over our mind?" he asked Wash.

"Er..." Wash looked down at Sally.
If I could, would I tell you?
"Pro'by not," he concluded. "Were you part o' that golem testing? Can you imagine if it were US being run around like that, instead o' them golem bodies?" Wash laughed. "Chaos, man."
"So," he added, "Where you from, anyway?" He waved a hand. "Before all this, that is."

Oh yes, Jason was part of the golem testing. He visibly shivered at the memory of the fallen angel being able to move around and, not only harass him, but other hunters.
He looked back with a nervous grin, "I don't think I"d want to imagine a scenario like that, it would be far too disturbing."
"Oh, I'm from the states, though I've moved around a few times. I originally lived in a small town near ohio. Nothing amazing, really. I was trying to study to become a doctor, but that well, didn't work out. Due to being here."
He then poached the question to Wash. "How about you?"
