⋆ Strengths :: Mars is excellent in plant identification and can easily concoct a deadly poison or a life saving serum. She's also very quick on her feet and can be quite stealthy when she has to be. Living in the poor district of eight has taught her to be quite resourceful and she is quite talented with thinking out of the box. She's quite talented with the use of a blowgun.
⋆ Weaknesses :: If there's open and bleeding wounds that require the steady hands of a doctor, then count Mars out of the equation. She may know things for curing a sickness, but stitching up wounds is not her cup of tea. She's also not very physically strong, and lacks talent in fighting as well. When it comes to swimming, she acts like a cat in water, meaning, she needs to get out of as soon as possible. She doesn't have the best sense of direction either.

⋆ History :: Mars grew up in a middle class family with her two parents and three siblings, and managed to fend off starvation as well. Her mother was a skilled medical healer, and Marlene seemed to have inherited those traits while her slightly younger brother, Dice, took on the capabilities of their father who owned a rather successful blacksmith's shop. Her and Dice also have two younger siblings who are not old enough for the reapings yet, but within the next year they will be, which scares Mars to the bone. Of course there were hard times for the Roth family, and there were rare times where both Marlene and Dice had to go poaching out in the forest for berries and nuts at time. Where Mars lacked in skill, her brother made up for it, and vice-versa. They were the perfect duo.
