Kicheko splashed in a puddle that had formed in some of the rocks near where her mother and father called home. She loved the rain! It was like the ocean was falling out of the sky, surrounding them and making everything live. It also helped to cool her down after a hot day, since she wasn't allowed in the water just yet.
Her playing was interrupted by a rather icky noise. She lifted her head, her ears back, and wrinkled her nose in distaste. Yuck! Who was making that? She followed her ears even as she kept them plastered to her head, not wanting to fully 'enjoy' the song she was hearing. At least, she thought it was a song. One could never be too sure.
Finally she poked her head around the edge of the trees and spotted another cub playing by the tide pools. He stopped singing to poke at something in one of them, and she lifted her ears in excitement. The only other cubs she had seen were her siblings. They were nice to play with, but making new friends was always good!
"Hey!" she called out as the cub started to dance around, calling to the thing in the tide pool. She jumped out from behind the tree, tail bobbing back and forth as she tilted her head, a little grin on her face. "Hey, you! Were you just singing?"
