He needed time to contemplate how much his life had changed since the former king, his own father, had passed to go spend time with those who passed before him. Would his father have been proud of him, or look down upon him in shame? Ali didn’t believe this is how his father wanted to leave the world, knowing his pride, his family, was now in the paws of one as incompetent has him. Still, he tried just as much as his own brother tried to beat every lesson in to his head. It must have been hard on Ardavan to deal with the fact that all his training to be King was for nothing. That everything he had lived for could be pulled out from under him with one event.
Scuffing, the young male exited the underground network and found himself within the maze of plateaus. Luckily for him he knew which way he had to go to get to the oasis. At least, he believed he remembered.
“I think it’s left, right? Right. No, do I go right?”

"I vote left," Hari said from around a corner, before she got a look at the lion who was making his way through the plateau maze. She wasn't really familiar with the maze, but she attributed that to unfamiliarity with the pride and tried not to let it bother her.
Hari was still adjusting to life in the desert. Having grown up in a pride where there were streams and rivulets everywhere, not to mention the perpetual mists from which the pride had derived its name, the constant dry heat frequently left Hari breathless and tired. She sometimes marveled that she had once pestered her mother to bring her to the desert to explore. Still, she liked the pride she had found here. In many ways it suited her better than the Misties ever had.
"But I could be totally...Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was...you." Oops.

It took some self-control for the rusty coated lion to hold back the laugh that was threatening to slip past his teeth. Though he was used to the members being cautious around him it still amused him to this day. Was royalty really that different, besides the treasures, and the status...and the slaves..and, yeah it really was different.
Smirking and shaking his head, his bangs flying around here and there, Ali stepped closer towards the female to get a better look at her. If anything, he could swear he had seen here once or twice, though he couldn't put a paw on it.
"Oh, me?" he asked with a look of surprise. "Is there something wrong with it being me? Though I suppose most don't get to see much of me anymore. But come on now, little lady. There isn't anything to be afraid of now. It's now like I'm going to be all 'RAWR! BOW DOWN TO ME THIS MINUTE AND KISS MY PAWS! DO IT NOW!', unless you want something like that..."

Hari smirked. Her mother was a goddess. There was nothing in this world that frightened her. She knew that if she needed her, she could call to her mother for help and that the goddess of love would come to her and take care of everything.
"I'm not afraid," she told him. "I was startled."
Her smirk turned into a grin at his suggestion of voluntary foot kissing. She was about as likely to do that as she was to voluntarily kiss someone's arse. Respect for leaders and their rules was something she had learned, but somehow she'd never quite grasped the concept of obeisance.
To change the subject she posed a question to the leader of the pride: "Why don't you know your way around your own lands?"
