Grinsen couldn't believe it. Here he was, walking with his mate and two cubs through a pride he had been looking for for a few months now. He had never, in his wildest dreams, though he'd ever have cubs, a mate, or a pride to call home. He had changed so much ever since he had met Dimu that he felt like a brand new lion, and it wasn't too bad of a feeling. Sure, he was still snarky and sly when he wanted to be, but around his family - his family! - he was kind and loving and trying to be the best dad ever. It was tough, but Dimu was amazing at keeping the two cubs under wraps. "Come on, you two," he chided softly as the two cubs played around his and Dimu's feet. "We don't want to step on you. That wouldn't be fun. For you." Rieseln pawed at her brother's tail before scooting around to hide behind Dimu, a little grin on her face. They had been walking for about two weeks now and she had to find some way to entertain herself! Luckily her brother was a good sport and liked to play, and Mom and Dad didn't seem to mind too much.
"Don't say that, Daddy," she said with a little laugh. "It wouldn't be fun for you, either. Then you'd have cub squishies between your toes! That wouldn't feel very nice."
She paused in her playing as they passed a bunch of cheetahs. She had never seen them before and she stared in awe. They were smaller and slimmer than Mom and Dad, but they had a very agile and swift look to them. She knew the pride they were going to be a part of had a lot to do with cheetahs, so she had been very excited to see them.
"Mom!" she whispered, batting at Dimu's leg. "Mom...are those cheetahs?"

Dimu had not expected to have cubs just yet, but she was glad to have them anyways. Grin seemed to be overly pleased with the pair of them as well and Dimu couldn't be happier taking care of cubs again. She watched Grin as he told them to keep moving or else they'd be stepped on and their daughters reply. She couldn't help but laugh, both the cubs were so much like their parents but each had a little bit about them that was unique. A spark that set them apart.
As Rieseln began to gawk at the cheetahs, and batted at her leg, Dimu looked down at her daughter and gave her an affectionate nuzzle, "Yes Ries, those are cheetahs. Aren't they cool?" She asked before turning to watch their boy, wondering what his thoughts on these creatures were.
Nili'Doa had enjoyed their adventure. Playing with his sister and minding his parents, (even if he thought they were completely unreasonable about bed times.) But they were here now. He ran up ahead an dgazed out at all the lands of the Makono he could see, spotting cheetahs running in the distance and a few close by lounging about. It was amazing for him to see. "Wow! I wonder how fast they are.. Are they faster than you dad?" He asked as he turned and eyed his father curiously. He knew the pride raced cheetahs, so they had to be fast, but his dad was pretty fast too. And his dad was going to become a breeder! Nil wondered what he would do when he got older.
"Dad, what will I get to be when I grow up? Can I grow up to be a cheetah and race too?" He asked with a hopeful look, unaware you had to be born a cheetah.

Mavi was on duty today. Her healer skills were offered to everyone and today she was checking on non-cheetah patients. While usually she waited till she was summoned by a patient or family member of the patient today she was just wandering the lands and looking everyone over visually. If she spotted someone who looked to be having a tough time then she would stop and speak to them. If they needed her assistance of any healer kind she happily helped them and if they refused she let them be.
On days like this she especially liked to watch for anyone new whom she had never met before. She really loved to speak with new comers and get introduced to them so they would know she was available to them at any time they liked.

Grin watched Dimu and Rieseln interact, unable to help the smile that crept over his face. They looked so much alike, save for Ries' grey feet. He was glad she looked so much like her mother, and that Nili looked quite like him. It was a nice balance, and he thought it was cute that Nili had gotten his mother's green and Ries had gotten his own blue. It really made them each unique, but similar enough to himself and Dimu that their parentage wouldn't be questioned.
As Nili piped up, he had to chuckle softly. Ah, the innocence of cubs. It was honestly quite adorable and a bit silly, but he loved it all the same.
"They're much faster than me, Nili," he said, lifting a paw to muss up the tuft of hair on his head. "That's what cheetahs are best at. Running faster than the wind! Nothing alive can outrun them, except perhaps another cheetah. And I'm afraid being a cheetah is a little out of the question," he added gently. "You have to be born a cheetah, just like you have to be born a lion, or a girl, or a boy. But other than that, you can do whatever you desire."
As he spoke he became aware of another lion passing close to them. He lifted his head to glance at her and offered a small, slightly insecure smile. This was all very new to him, after all. Perhaps Dimu would be the better of the two to introduce them as a family.
"Really cool," Rieseln said, watching the small group move off to go train. Wow...they were so small but their legs were so long! And their tails were funny looking, with no tufts on the end of them. She laughed quietly before running to catch up with her mother, pretending to be a cheetah and running like the wind. She zoomed passed Dimu's legs and ran head-first into the black lioness's legs, causing her to topple over from the impact. Of course, the black lioness probably was only mildly bumped.
"Whoa!" Ries said as she sat up, shaking her head. She looked up at the lioness, seeing double for a few moments as her brain tried to catch up with her body. "Sorry, miss!" she said as she got unsteadily to her feet. "I was being a cheetah and wasn't looking where I was going." She had a bad habit of doing that, tearing off in front of her parents without a care in the world. This was the first time she had ever run into something, though. Maybe looking would be helpful in the future.

"Oh, I am sorry!" Dimu spoke out as she watched her daughter run head first into someone. She padded over and offered a smile. "I'm M'Dimu, that's my mate Grinsen, and these two are my cubs, Rieseln and Nili'doa." She introduced the lot of them before eyeing her daughter a moment, glad to see the little lioness cub wasn't hurt from bouncing off of the lionesses legs.
There went that idea he thought to himself as his dad told him he could not, in fact, become a cheetah. The small lion cub was quick to forget about the disappointment of the news though, and was now interested in the lioness his sister had run into. With big eyes he looked at her, she was so dark! He was only use to mom and dad who were lighter, grays and whites.
He skipped forward and looked up at the lioness curiously, as if to make sure she was a lioness and not a cheetah, but a quick look to the tail proved, without a doubt, this other lion was infact a lion. He then chuckled at his sister and gave her a light headbutt, "You should look before you run sis! You could get hurt if you ran into something not so soft."

Mavi spotted the family as she was walking and smiled at the male when he smiled at her. Her full intention had been to speak to them and introduce herself but before she could speak up the little female cub ran forward right into her front legs. She couldn't help but laugh at the little cutie. "It's alright. You didn't hurt me little one." She told the little female with a wink before she looked to her brother and winked at him too.
She turned her attention from the two cute cubs to their mother and smiled at her. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I always enjoy meeting new pride members. My name is Mavi'Duniani. I'm one of the prides healers. If you ever have any problem health wise I will be happy to take care if it."

Grin flinched as Ries ran headfirst into the new lionesses legs. Ah...she really needed to watch where she went. Her adventurous but clumsy nature reminded him so much of himself when he had been younger. Thankfully, Ries shared her mother's kind nature, and he hoped she'd continue to walk in Dimu's paw prints rather than his own. "Be careful, Ries," he scolded slightly, unable to keep the small smile off his face. She might be a bit clumsy, but at least she was quite while doing it. He lifted his head back to the other lioness, bobbing his head in a greeting. A healer? Well, he knew there was nothing wrong with himself, but cubs really weren't meant to walk as long as they did at such a young age. Perhaps having them looked at wouldn't be a bad thing. Ries rubbed her head with her paw as she looked up at Mavi, a sheepish grin on her face. She was glad she hadn't hurt her but it was rather embarrassing all the same. As Nili spoke she glanced over at him and stuck out her tongue, just in time to get lightly headbutted. "Yeah, like your big head," she said with a playful swat at his ear.
As Mavi spoke again, however, she stopped playing and got on her feet. A healer? That's what Mom was going to be! Maybe they'd become friends! "That's so cool!" she said, jumping slightly in excitement. "Healers are awesome! Mom is gonna be a healer, right?" She paused in her little dance to look up and over her shoulder at Dimu, a grin on her white face.

Lurking back behind his parents, Baldric chuckled as he watched his sister and his brother play with each other. It had been like this the entire time they had been walking, always teasing and playing with each other while trying to mind their parents the best that they could (he shared his brother's thought about the bed times). He walked between his parents, rubbing against his mom's legs first, then his dad's before making his way up to Rieseln and Nili'Doa. "Like she'll ever watch where she's going," he grinned and batted at his sister's paw, "she has to move faster than a cheetah." he winked slightly at his brother before catching the sight of someone else out of the corner of his eye. He looked over the dark lioness to check to make sure she was lion; he wasn't satisfied with Nili's check. Spotting the tuft of fur on her tail, and noticing what must be cheetahs off in the distance with no tail fluff, he nodded slightly to himself. "Hi!" he peered up at her slightly with a hint of curiosity in his voice before turning back to Ries. "No, they aren't. Breeders are better. Dad's gonna be the best breeder, right Dad?"

Dimu smiled down at her daughter and nodded before looking to Mavi, []"That's right, I want to be a healer as well. Perhaps we could work together sometimes?" She asked, giving Mavi a warm grin.
It was good to finally have made it, and to be making a friend already. Another healer, perhaps one who could show Dimu the way the pride liked it done so she could be good at what she did. Dimu had the temperament, and had been a healer in the Tuait'tekem, so she just needed to know how to do the job here in her new home.
"Would you mind doing a check up on our cubs? We've been traveling a while and I'd like a second opinion on how they are doing."
Nil grinned at his brother and laughed at his comment after his sister swatted at his ear. "I like my big head!" He stated proudly before turning to his brother once again and tackling him playfully, tail swishing in delight. Nil adored his brother and sister, and his parents, of course. "I think the cheetahs are the best! I can't wait to see them run!! It's going to be so cool."

Mavi smiled as she spotted another cub with the two parents. Oh goodness she knew they had their paws full. She really enjoyed the young ones they were always the funnest. Mavi turned her attention first to the only female of the group. "Your mommy is gonna be a healer huh? I agree with you Healer's are awesome but without the other ranks of the pride too the whole pride would fall." She told the little female while also looking over at the new male who had appeared and winking at him answering his statement of breeders with the last of her statement to his sister.
At the other boys statement of cheetah's she giggled and smiled at him. "The cheetah's are exciting to watch. My favorite part is the excitement of the crowd when the cheetahs get close to the finish."
After she finished speaking to the cubs she looked up to the mother and smiled at her. "Of course. I always enjoy helping out the new healers anyway I can. Any questions you have about anything I'll be happy to answer at anytime." She replied. "I wouldn't mind checking them at all. I always like to make sure our newest pride members are at their best or help them get there."

Grin glanced down as Baldric finally moved to the front of their little pack and shook his head slightly in amusement. If any of their kids reminded him of himself, it was this one. He had that sort of sly air about him that was cute at this stage, but he'd probably need a little talking to at some point to make sure he went down the right path. He didn't want any of his kids roaming the rouge lands for most of their lives. He had done it and it really wasn't all that fun. As Mavi agreed to check the cubs out, he bowed his head slightly in thanks. "They haven't been walking too long, just a few weeks or so, but since they're so young still I have to admit I've been a bit worried about them. They have endless energy, though...Dimu and I would get tired before they did," he said with a little laugh. Whenever they had stopped to rest, eat, drink, or sleep, the cubs would always beg to play. Sometimes he'd oblige, but other times he'd let them roughhouse among themselves while he napped. Having three cubs was hard! He couldn't imagine what having four, five, or even six would be like. He glanced down at Baldric and shook his head slightly, an amused grin on his face. "We'll see, Bal," he said gently. "I hope I'll be decent, at least." He knew it was a touchy subject with some, but he had an eye for beauty and a fairly good sense of what plus what would equal what, so he knew he couldn't be too bad at it. Ries huffed quietly and watched her two brothers tussle on the ground before sticking her nose in the air. She didn't need to play like them, not in front of this new lioness. She wanted to be just like her mom when she grew up, so of course that meant she'd need to be a Healer as well. Making a good impression with Mavi might help her in the future.
As soon as Dimu suggested giving them a check-up, Ries puffed up her chest and took a few steps closer to Mavi. "Me first!" she said as she sat down, a smile on her face. "I'm ready! They're being stinky boys and wrestling." Of course, at any other time she would have been right in the thick of things, chewing on tails and swatting at noses. But in front of Mavi, she was going to be a little princess.

All of Baldric's attention was removed from the other lioness when his brother pounced on him. He gave a laugh as he wrestled around on him, lightly nipping and licking Nili's ear as they rolled around on the ground. He didn't care if he won or not, it was just fun wrestling with him. It was even better when Rieseln would join in with them.
He pinned Nili down long enough to respond when their dad spoke up. "You'll be the best, I know it!" he said excitedly before lightly batting at Nili as he rolled him over again. Both of their pelts were going to end up caked in dirt by the time they were done, but Bal didn't seem to care about that.

Dimu smiled at Mavi then watched as her daughter puffed up and put on her best manners to be examined first. It made her chuckle. Ries was a sweet cub and while Dimu thought she was a princess, she knew her little girl was just as rough and wild as the boys at times. It was always amusing to watch them all together, but made her glad they only had three. If they'd had more, she didn't know what she would do, six would have been far too many, fun, but way too much effort to keep them all rounded up and... clean... she thought as she eyed the boys, getting all dirty as they wrestled.
Nili growled playfully as he wrestled with Baldric. Squirming and swatting as they rolled around in the dirt and mud. He was not concerned with the dirtiness either, the only thing he disliked about it was when mother decided they needed to be clean. But at least he had less white fur than Bal, cleaning him was a bit easier.
"I wanna watch the cheetahs later today, can we dad? Pleeeease?" He begged as he chomped down on one of Bal's ears, now muttering with his mouth full about how awesome it would be to see how fast the cheetah raced.

Mavi smiled at Grin. His concern for his cubs was sweet and she always loved it when the daddies were big worry worts. "You'd be surprised how resilient cubs can be. They can pretty much handle anything and bounce right back from injuries." She told him before she looked down to Ries who had volunteered to go first.
She smiled at her and wrinkled her nose. "I'm glad to see your so willing. Most little ones would rather be in the wrestling pile over there." She said motioning to the two boys. Usually she had to scoop them up out of the piles to examine them one at a time but it was all in fun.
Mavi did her visual check first on little Ries. Since she was cooperating it took a little less than a minute. "No visible injuries. Can you walk in a circle around me and stop in front of me when your done please?"

Grin rolled his eyes slightly at Bal's enthusiastic comment, chuckling quietly as he pushed the two wrestling boys to the side with a paw. They didn't need to fight in the very middle of the little circle of talking. "We'll see about that," he said with a smile. He'd try, certainly, and hopefully he'd be rather popular with the cheetahs. He wouldn't want to just pair them up willy-nilly after all. He had to take into account the personal relationships that went on. "We'll watch them once they're racing, Nili," he chided softly. "I'm not sure if they're just practicing or not." He was glad they had finally made it. With Dimu's past relationship with a cheetah, he was hopeful that raising their cubs in this mixed environment would promote a healthy view on other species, and maybe they'd even follow in their mother's paw prints and take a cheetah for a mate. Ries did very well not giving away that she'd like to be over there wrestling, instead keeping her full attention on Mavi. She was the healer to impress, after all! She could play any time. She held very still as the lioness checked her over and, at her request, set off to walk quickly around her. Once she returned to the front, she sat down and smiled up sweetly, pink eyes bright.
"I feel pretty healthy," she said as she wiggled her toes. "I've never been sick and never been hurt!" Of course, she had only been born about a month ago. She had just started on meat with her brothers last week.
