In the distance in the savannah there were a few shapes splattered on the ground. It was hard to tell what they were until they stirred, as the golden male they adorned was all but camouflaged with his surroundings. A darker golden-brown mane was splayed out on the hot earth too, and a small tuft sleepily swatting flies.
Mbari had been doing a lot of thinking, and a lot of worrying, and as lazy as it seemed for a grown male of his age, he was taking a break. All that thinking and the midday heat had got to him, and he was taking a moment to do something he didn't do very often, take a deep breath and relax. His mother and him used to do this all the time, as they grew, they would quite often worry about things together, often trivial, often the same subject. Her worrying had waned but as he grew older, his seemed to strengthen. He did not have the mate, the family and the memories to fall back on like she did.

If she had any worries in life, Jahina never showed them. She only ever seemed to show pride - Pride in her home, pride in her lineage, pride in her everything. The orange-cream lioness bore a mark of her father on her face, and while it wasn't the familiar swirl of the shoulder like some of her siblings, it was enough for her to be proud of. Nobody else in the Pridelands had that mark, after all, without being one of her brothers or sisters.
She almost blended in with the grasses as she moved, limping slightly after having faced off with a rogue elephant - The Greenwood Monster, as it were. As green eyes scanned the grasses for anything she might trip on, she soon spotted someone laying in the grass. There were so many lions in the pride, while she didn't remember his name, she at least knew him by sight as a member. "Hey, you okay laying out here in the open...?" Wouldn't under a tree have been better?

Mbari was suddenly caught offguard by a female. His time spent laying the the grass of late had been rather uneventful, so he was not expecting to be caught in a sudden conversation. She seemed to melt into the savannah, and the only sign of life were a pair of piercing green eyes that had now found him. He composed himself for a second, the feeling of relaxation coming to a sharp jolt in his mind. "H-hi, yes, I'm just relaxing." His amber eyes scanned the area. "I guess, I-i could've found a better place?" Mbari shook his mane as he pulled himself up a little. "I'm Mb-bari, who are you?" He always feared his introductions were rather juvenile, but wasn't suave enough to go any other way about it.
