General First Aid

*DISCLAIMER: I am not a vet, nor a vet tech. Please, if your cat is sick or hurt, seek medical attention. This is to provide you the owner with some knowledge in what to do if you kitty gets small hurts, is choking, or you need right at this moment advice. All of the information I have provided has been supplied by Google search engine and books that I have read.*

The Small Hurt

This qualifies as a small cut, limp, etc. If your cat has gotten into something and has a tiny scratch, clean the wound with a little diluted peroxide, and cover it with a cloth banage. Its a good idea to have an Elizabethian Cone on hand. Depending on where the cut is, and how deep, determines a vet visit. If there is any sign of an infection, go to the vet.

If your cat is limping, check him over for possible bumps. He may have banged something in his antics. Also check his paws for possible scrapes and injuries. A heated rice sock can alleviate a lot of joint and muscle pain, but if you feel that he is in need of medical attention, go to the vet.

Choking

If your cat displays any signs of restricted airflow, immediate attention is needed. Choking is indicated by a severe cough, discharge from the eyes, nose, or foaming at the mouth.
