The Program

The New Rice Academy is a place far more focused but slightly less strict than it's predecessors... The Otobe are still in power, however in order to keep that power, they needed to re-assign and prioritize, thus leaving the academy without an instructor. Lavi Itsuki, was a prime candidate after already teaching so many kids, and doing a fine job. He is not without help of course, as Rayne Anzan, the 'substitute,' will often come in and help out whenever she is needed. They are complete opposites, yet somehow seem to get along and do their job. the future of Oto rests in the hands of the young after all.

The basic system has not changed, requiring the basic jutsu to be taught, but not without learning the basics of it all first. The students will start with handseals and chakra molding, then moving further on to the other jutsu.

Chakra Control
Focus the chakra to your hands and practice molding the chakra.

Escape Artist
In exercising this skill, I paired up my students up to practice escaping grapples. One student would roll a d20 + Str Mod and escaping student would roll a d20 + Escape Artist.
If a student failed to escape a grapple it would be -1Hp.

Treat Injury
Practice tying bandages or read up on basic first aid.
Roll: 1d20 + Treat Injury
DC: 10 + your Treat Injury
Successes: 10/10

Athletics
Practice your flips, handsprings and jumps through the trees or on the ground.

Formula: d20 + Athletics

Ranged Weapons
Each student will be given a mixture of 10 ranged weapons (senbon, shuriken and kunai) and be placed in front of a target board. There will be 3 rings around the bullseye.
0-5 = Ring 1 (+0Exp)
6-10 = Ring 2 (+1Exp)
11-15 =Ring 3 (+2Exp)
16-20 = Bullseye (+3Exp)
Formula: 1d20 + Ranged Attack Bonus
Train: Use all 10 weapons up.

Cat and Mouse [Awareness vs. Stealth]
This is a game played with two or more people. In the fields of Kirigakure, there is a mouse who is trying to make his way through the field without being spotted by a cat. He must cross a 25ft distance without being detected or seen by the cat.
The first roll is done by the cat.
1d20 + Awareness
As the cat listens, the mouse tries to move through the fields.
1d20 + Stealth
DC - If the cat's Awareness total is higher than the mouse, the mouse must take cover.
1d20 + Stealth
The cat then has to find the mouse.
1d20 + Awareness
If the cat fails, the mouse can continue moving, but now must be wary.
1d20 + Stealth + (-1 for every time heard)
The mouse can only move 5ft at a time.
Train: 5/5

If the mouse is seen by the cat, he is caught and the cat is rewarded.
If the mouse successfully moves across without being seen, he is safely rewarded.

Dodgeball Game
Students will play a game called dodgeball, in which two teams are made, and they will use balls to get the people from the other team out. Once the ball touches someone, they are out.
Throwing the ball:

DC: 1.5x Dodge Bonus of Opponent (ROUND DOWN)

Dodging Dojo
There is a dodging device in the academy basement. Wooden posts fall from the ceiling and swing around. A student must dodge 10 posts to make it to the end.

Formula: 1d20 + Reflex Save
Successes: 10/10
DC Fail: -1 Hp
Cannot make resting posts while training (must leave area around dodging device).


Constitution [Con]

Endurance Training
Students will be required to run 10 laps on the track in the underground gym. They can also try to hold their breath for as long as they can in the academy's pool.

DC Fail for Pool: -(1 + 1 Hp per minute in pool. Each successful roll is one minute.)

Questions
The teacher will ask the students questions reviewing the day, or previous lessons. Each student will be asked 3 questions.

Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. You have to grab the X's to make the next cradle. This training can only be done with two or more people.

Speech Practice
The students will surely have to make speeches in the future, this is a way to practice that without being embarrassed. The student must speak 15 or more lines. May also practice it by themselves in front of a mirror.

Chakra [Chk]

Meditation
The student makes a handseal in order to focus his mind on his chakra. He then meditates and focuses within himself in order to find new chakra pathways within his body that he may not have been aware of before. With patience and persistence, he can unlock these pathways.

DC: 10 + Chk. Mod + Chakra Control (without Int.)

Jutsu

Genjutsu Kai (Genjutsu Release)
The user attempts to break the chakra circulation flow in his body in order to see through a genjutsu. You can also use this technique on someone else.

Requirements: Chakra Control 8, Genjutsu 4
Training: 2 stages
Stage I: Genjutsu DC 14 Learn the basics of genjutsu. Learn how they work, and how to escape from it.
Stage II: Chakra Control DC 18 Become in tune with your body's chakra system. You may ask a friend who knows genjutsu to perform one on you so you can practice breaking your chakra circulation and the genjutsu.
Special: +your chakra mod + 2 per 10 ranks in Chakra Control to Will Save. The effect of this technique is stackable, that is if many ninja use it on one person all their bonuses are added.

Rayne was walking down the hall on her way towards her classroom. She was still considered the part-time academy instructor, and would aid in helping the class when necessary, whenever Lavi would happen to be doing something else. At least I still have my job after all this. She noticed one of the students lingering at the receptionist's desk. This ought to be fun. She pulled a kozuka from her inner thigh and threw it towards the boy. Her aim with the knives was sharp, so her intent to miss was evident as it plunged into the wall near his head.

"Boy! You looking for class?"

Of course he was, why else would he be here? She walked over to him, her figure moving fluidly, like a cat, with each passing step. She reached up and pulled the knife from the wood.

"I am Rayne Anzan. Consider me a... substitute, if you will. Just because the Otobe had re-prioritize doesn't mean class will be less difficult. Now, follow me."

With a quick swift movement, like she was going to stab her leg, she placed the knife back into its holster, next to the other knives strapped tightly around her legs. Luckily she wasn't wearing her tekagi... she could imagine the intimidation she'd have on her students. She came to the new classroom and opened the door, ushering the kid inside. Moving to her desk she opened a drawer and pulled out a file.

"Rolant Estoqueur, ah, a master of the mind, eh? Let's see... you started not too long ago, tell me,how far did you get in your studies?"

Rayne looked up from the file and noticed another student walking into the classroom. She didn't quite know who he was until he spoke.

"Ah, Makoto Lung. Rayne Anzan, I'll be taking over until you're instructor gets here. I've heard quite a bit about you. You're the one who seen Airi naked? It seems to be all she ever talks about..."

Though she left out the part of her getting furious over it and needing to be calmed down. Her fury over the Yakushi girl undressing her and allowing her to be exposed to the two boys had yet to be doused.

"Hm, she's not here yet... maybe she's working on her animal instincts... She shouldn't be late for class. There's no excuse for that."

Rayne had a tendency to think out loud and ramble on. She fingered through the files and pulled out Makoto's file, opening and reading it.

"Hm, swordsman, crafter, artist. You seem to be a bit rounded. What have you done so far in the academy?"

Rolant jumped a bit as the knife hit the wall mere inches from the tip of his chapeau. "oh..." Rolant seemed to murmur out as he caressed the edge of his chapeau to make sure the tips where still in place. As he moved his fingers over the pointed tips he caught a slight glimpse at the woman as she said her name. Her fierce predator eyes glimmered at the Estoqueur as she said that name,Anzan. The traitor clan of Oto that headed one of the factions of the rebellion. The clan whose head was known by all of the village as "The Azure Flame". Would this really be the best person to teach the new regimes children? The thought raced through Rolant but soon subsided as he followed the woman almost forgetting she had said something "Oh, at least you wont strap me to a table with a killer question robot or make me cross a pool of chakra sensing man eating sharks?" Rolant seemed to pose his own question jokingly as they reached a small classroom area and the Anzan temptress seemed to be reading a file."Yes, I am a returning student. I've completed Bunshin,Kakuremino,and Henge. Rolant said seemingly listing off his achievements in an almost bored manner "I've also completed many other miscellaneous tortu- I mean, skill training." Rolant stumbled on the words torture regiments as he would've called them instead of considering them as training. Another student seemed to enter the classroom after them and as Rayne began to perform the same routine with this student Rolant began glaring at the boy. Maybe in jealousy? It would be hard to understand an Estoqueurs outward emotions because of the conflicting nature in the clan but this would be easy to spot. As Rayne listed off his abilities Rolant grinned a bit as he pulled his gloves tightly up his form arms and lightly caressed the brim of his chapeau. "Interesting" Rolant thought as he continued to glare at the new kid "Rolant Estoqueur" Rolant stated as he stood there fingers still grasping the tip of the V-shaped crimson hat now tipped to symbolize an aknowledgement "And you are?"

"What's the matter? It's only skin after all. It's perfectly natural for the male to be attracted to the female. It's in nature everywhere."

She gave a sly smile. Both young men answered and surprisingly, they were on the same page! In actuality they were an entire day ahead of schedule, with the exception of the Nawanuke. The other boy had made remarks regarding the Otobe's version of training. It made her chuckle silently to herself. These boys were going to have some fun. She pulled out one of her kozuka and looked at it with her slitted predator green eyes.

"Well because you both are so far ahead of schedule, I will give you an option. You can go ahead and learn the Nawanuke no Jutsu. I will tie you up and using your chakra, you simply free yourself from your binds. Secondly, you can practice your ranged attacks."

She pulled out twenty kunai from a drawer and placed them on the desk in front of her. Another student had walked in and noticed the red hair and extreme height.

"Alucard... Witsun. Let's see here. One of the few to along with the Otokage to Kirigakure. Well were supposed to go to Kiri. From the west... How far along are you in the academy?"

She flung the knife at the target to her right, only taking a quick glance at it before releasing it from her grip.

"The one with the most points wins one of my knives, as a small gift. The loser... gets a little something tomorrow."

She gave a wink to the class pulling out another ten kunai for the new student that walked in.

Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique)
A basic technique taught at the Ninja academy. When a ninja is tied with rope, he can undo the knots and escape using this jutsu.

Still beat red in the face, makoto sighed to himself before he heard one of the students talking to him. Turning his head slightly to look up at how it is, he saw a guy in a crimson outfit and a v shaped hat on his head. The man introduced himself as a one, Rolant Estoqueur, interesting that he finally met one. But this was the wrong time to meet or talk to anyone in his standards. “ Makoto Lung “ Spoke Makoto, introducing himself to Rolant. Looking forward at the Azran teacher in front of him, makoto was worried that if Airi was going to turn into her? He was really hoping they didn’t follow mating seasons. Listening to what the teacher said about skin, makoto started to suffer from a nosebleed as thoughts of Airi’s started floating in his head. This made him hit his head on the desk; the Azran teacher was using some kind of warfare against him. He really liked Airi, yea… but he was not in the mood. Raising his head up slightly, he listened in to what she said about practicing throwing weapons or learning a new jutsu. “ I’ll learn the new jutsu first Rayne, then I’ll practice my ranged combat as my extra credit. “ spoke Makoto, making his thoughts be known to Rayne. He needed to get stronger for Airi and for himself, he whipped away the small nosebleed as quickly and quietly as he could… he didn’t want to step on any more land mines.

Placing his hands in front of him so she could tie them up, makoto smiled to her as she tied his hands and listened to what she had to say. Rayne-sensei… it had a nice ring to it. “ Yes sensei. “ spoke makoto as he fell backwards and landed on his back. Grunting slightly from the fall, makoto started to work with his hands. He had been bound once before and he could get out of it again, but with a jutsu… it was going to be quicker. Focusing his chakra on his arms and on the rope, makoto started to move his hands quickly and started to work on the rope some more. Success was the prize as he felt the rope loosen slightly from his wrists. It was a very promising result to his training, he was going to continue focusing his chakra from now on.

His success to loosen it to this degree was remarkable so far, his chakra was really assessing him with the escape. Rayne sensei was smart to make something of a trap within the rope training; he had found his way through the first and second part of the training. Makoto sighed happily as he focused on his chakra again with a smile of eagerness, he was sure he could find another trap hidden within the rope again soon… but no. the rope slightly slipped looser then it was before, was this a repeating process? Did she make it grow tighter then looser, In that order? He could only find out more if he could continue on with his training. But makoto stopped for a moment, wondering something before he smiled much more happily. He popped his neck again and before he knew it, he was more than ready.
