The days had been dark lately, storms had brewed and calmed only to grow larger the next time 'round. It was fortunate in the dry times, but currently the large family had been having some trouble in seeking out a true home. Sabia grew weary, her body not completely healed from the tremendously painful labor, but she pushed on. Unfortunately the pains made her require rest more frequently. Not one to cry, she bit her lip and got up as quickly as she could to move on. With Crue around the times were certainly better, but she still worried endlessly.
"Crue.. perhaps there is a place we can stay briefly up ahead?" She cooed, hoping to coax another time of rest for the group. The cubs, unlike their Mother, were filled to the brim with energy and were happy to travel, countless times she had to rescue them from wandering to far during their times of wandering. "The woods here are nice and thick, it may be damp. but I am grateful if it presents a cave for us." The 'asking' bit was over, step by step she found herself becoming more and more agitated.
"Do you see one?"
Her eyes were narrowed and glaring into the treeline. Hope was in her heart, but anger crept up, she was beginning to blame Crue for these pains. Ofcourse the reason for them was a 50/50 blame game, though her view was skewed to only see it as his fault.

Having cubs had put a lot in perspective for the large male. He found that the more he thought about them, the more he knew he had to do something to ensure all of their survival. He wasn't about to let his cubs grow up as rogues, when there was so much that could happen to a cub who wandered only a little too far. Though he was strong, and would cast revenge on anyone harming his brood, he still didn't want any harm to fall on them. He had noticed that Sabia still hurt, and he would stop periodically in the midst of their journey in order to give her little breaks. He didn't want her tiring herself out too much, not yet. He didn't want her to hurt, at all, unless he was causing the pleasurable kind. "We probably should stop soon. The last break we took was a while ago. You need to rest." He responded, looking back at his babies. They were still all going great, and they were strong little ones. He liked seeing that not much stopped them. "I don't, not yet." He responded to her question about a cave. He had been looking for some time now, and he had found nowhere suitable. He was going to have to lower his standards if she kept up on him like this. He could tell that she was getting angry, though her anger did little to sway him. Honestly he didn't care if she was angry, though he didn't particularly care for getting yelled at when he was tired himself. "Sabia, if it's that important... have you seen one?" He asked, his voice tired.

As much as the walking had put strain not only on her physically, but on the pair emotionally they pulled through. It was bizarre that such a couple was truly meant to be on this front. In all other cases she presumed that Crue would not wait, would keep going and perhaps just leave altogether. With those thoughts she gave a smile, it was a grateful one that only succeeded to stay on her maw shortly.
The cubs had been strong, stronger than her even. Their little paws, which she had imagined wouldn't be able to go for this long, were being persistent and pushing forward. They were chatty as ever, pointing out every single detail they came across, her little adventurers. Heart strings pulled lightly as she thought more and more of them. It would not be long before they would wander from her side, with that thought fear shivered through her body, making her feel ill.
"A break would be wonderful.." She said wearily, her tone taking on the feelings in her body. She grew considerably weaker each stretch they took and had considered if this is what being near death was like.
"Well, give me a moment. Perhaps luck will be with us around the next corner."
Her tone hadn't changed, it was still weary and lacked hope. The day was getting old and dark would more than likely be upon them soon. At that time she would not risk going any further, count heads to make sure all the cubs were there and then stay the night in the open. "Wait.. Crue.. do you smell that..?" Her nose twitched slightly.
The smell of another lion, then more. Perhaps a pride? She wasn't sure if she should be frightened or excited. She awaited Crue's reaction, he was in a better position to gauge their situation than she was.

Crue supposed he didn't understand the strain was on the cubs and their mother. He had never had cubs, and would never know what that type of exhaustion felt like. He was counting his blessings on that one. But as a cub, he had made a very similar trek with his father to the demon lands. He was fairly certain they could go further than their mother. But he didn't inform her of such. "We will find somewhere, Sabia. If I have to kill the family inside of it to do it." He was deadly serious, but he would go with an empty one if the situation presented itself. That's when his nose caught the scent, he began scenting the air. Looking at Sabia he nodded, gruffly. "Yes, I do. Smells like maybe we will have to kill for it after all." He said, knowing that where there were lions, there were dens. He felt his muscles tense as he readied his body for any sort of fighting he would need to do. "I'll check it out. Wait here." He demanded, and he knew she would obey. He didn't need to explain to her that their cubs were unguarded if she went, and they certainly couldn't be quiet enough to sneak around. He moved quickly, dissappearing from their side as he cast his eyes around the scene. He noted a few lions, though none looked too particularly dangerous. He had seen, and taken on, bigger. Once he surveyed the scene, he slunk back to the shadows, rejioning his mate's side. "There are quite a few, that I could see. But the dens look large. I think we have wandered into a pride, my sweet." He chuckled, a devious look on his features.

The scenario had become rather hushed all at once, a few squeaks were quickly quieted and Sabia began tucking the cubs at her side as smoothly as possible. The little army stilled easily, well used too being told what to do, luckily, and so she nodded to Crue.
The scents were stronger and stronger, as if a patrol was wandering around, she hoped to herself that everything would remain quiet when Crue whispered his words slowly then slipped away into the darkness. She was more than happy to wait, it was understood that if anything were to happen the cubs would depend on her solely for survival. Sabia was sure Crue would haunt her if anything happened to them.
When he returned, it was just as quick as he left, but now he bore a very mischievous grin. His grin was matched when he spoke. "Where do we begin dear?" She clearly meant the den of the leaders, had he spotted them? When would they strike? She already began thinking of where the cubs would be best hidden.

"Well.." He said, thinking as he looked down as his brood. He couldn't risk their demise. He wasn't sure it was love he had for them, but he knew enough to know that he cared for them. He wasn't about to watch them die because he was impatient. They were his little monsters after all, and he wanted them to remain that way. "I think we should wait. Stalk them, learn them. What they do, and who they are.. When we are ready, we can strike. But I don't want to put the cubs in danger." He looked at Sabia with a little smile. "Life is about them now, anyways." He said, and smiled down at his litter. His cubs were a huge sense of pride in him. "If they get hurt, I'd likely go into a frenzy. We don't want to kill -everyone- now do we? Maybe just the important ones. Don't want to take on too much." At this point, Crue was suggesting an all out takeover. Though he needed the denning area, and he stood again. "I will talk to the leader, convince him we are just passing through, but that the cubs need rest. Doesn't seem like they are aggressive. I may be able to pull it off."

Things had taken a huge leap and bound for them, a pride, a true blue pride that wasn't aggressive to boot! It was times like these that Crue, and how level headed he could be truly shocked and impressed her. "You're right, the cubs come first of course." Her voice became calm and smooth.
The plan was laid out before her, she felt small bodies come closer to her side and prodding about. They were seeking a place to lay down. It was time to find a place to at least take cover for now, his plan would certainly take time and the cubs, in this state would play perfectly into their plans.
"Should a weary Mother and her cubs come to play it up?" She offered slowly, her own body was certainly exhausted and could use a stress free sleep. Though now she may lose sleep over the excitement of everything now. She awaited Crues say, already planning a different route in case he said no. There was a small area where she could have her back to a wall while the cubs slept so she could watch them better.
