TAB TAB TAB TAB TAB TAB TAB f u b u k i 〈 H A T S U Y U K I 〉 吹雪はつゆき ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ TAB TABA p p e a r a n c e ↴ TAB↪ the face in the mirror Over the years, the princess of Fubuki Ichizoku blossomed into a lovely young woman with flowing waist-length ebony hair and pale gray-blue eyes, which explains her brother's increasing overprotectiveness of her now that she is getting suitors whom are also actually interested in her and not after her hand in marriage just because of her connection to the missing clan prince. As time passed, the snowy beauty of her early years had also become a more chilling, cold kind of beauty that is famous among the Fubuki women - a factor that seems more accentuated by the fact that she no longer smiles. Hatsuyuki still does not apply make-up, but she does use a light gloss over the lips so the chilling weather of the clan estate does not crack the delicate skin. TAB TABW a r d r o b e ↴ TAB↪ the worse for wear She shows an open preference for formal clothing rather than for shinobi wear. That is fine, anyways, since although she is a Chuunin in rank, she no longer takes missions that requires her to go far from the village. Her new post of Academy instruction further ensures her status as a caged bird of the clan and village. 〈 hi'ate 〉 → Her Kirigakure hitai-ate goes around her forehead. It consists of a wood shaft with a curved blade fashioned onto the end, and is similar to the European glaive. Usually, it also had a sword-like guard (tsuba) between the blade and shaft. Its usage relies on graceful acrobatic spins and turns to build up momentum and generate force to literally "sweep" the opponent away. Damage 4 - 16 + 1.5 Strength mod. Range Melee + 10 feet Special Can also be thrown with a range of 50 feet. +4 to trip and blocking checks. Because she can think this way and emotionally detach herself from even very personal problems, she is capable of doing great things with exceptional calmness to urge a situation towards the direction for the better even if those around her will not understand her actions at the time. This skill of hers makes her a natural politician, which was why even though she was so young at that time - only almost thirteen - yet she could still diplomatically deal with the Water Master without fear.
▪ Great-hearted Perhaps the expectations of the clan and what was going to be her role as future Fubuki matriarch that convoluted her thinking so young, but Hatsuyuki has an inclination towards caring for others more than she would ever care for herself. Fortunately, this quality now makes her an excellent choice for an Academy instructor, because she would place her life on the line to ascertain the safety of the children. In her heart, there is never enough room for love, and because she genuinely can care for someone that deeply, others would quickly grow to value her endearing presence.
▪ Charismatic She displayed her diplomatic prowess young, but two years later, her social abilities are even more clear. Perhaps it was partly due to her earnest spirit, but when Hatsuyuki speaks, others are very inclined to listen because her words hold truth and power. Her brother believes that Hatsuyuki's charisma was developed at the price of her childish innocence, and indeed, the understanding that she exhibits is not something that should be coming from someone this young. It a way, it is this melancholic aura about her that draws others to her and entices them to pay attention to her.
▪ Willful She knows when to fall back in diplomacy, but she also knows when to forcefully press her case. This is because she has very clear insight of when something absolutely has to be done. Due to this, she had to learn the best way of exhibiting her will all the while not upsetting others with callous words. Consequently, she had grown quite eloquent in speech due to the necessity of rhetoric in advocating any side she is supporting.
▪ Good-natured She refuses to believe that anyone could be purely evil just because they want to be and is inclined to believe the best of all human beings. This is because, as a child she noticed, behind the terrifying side of Mistress, there was also a very human side to even the Water Master. Even after the Go-ryu Master event, despite that she lost her parents because of the villagers, she does not blame them, and instead finds their attempts to make reparations to her and to her clan tragic. After all, the villagers had interests they wanted to protect too... Her clan had made certain decisions, and they had made theirs.
Her reasons for continuing to refuse marriage proposals are also because she earnestly believes in the best, and until Shinratsu is confirmed dead, she will continue to maintain that he is healthy and well somewhere, someplace out in the world.

TAB TABb a c k g r o u n d ↴ TAB↪ the secrets you don't need to know Princess
She was born her parents' princess, their pride and joy, and later became the clan's princess. But that was also when Lady Hanabie's love for her daughter turned to dismay. The unhealable rift between her parents was aggrieved -- a rift that begun many years before her birth when Lord Retsu promised his eldest son to be the guardian of the future clan heir... And so, even while Hatsuyuki grew up innocent, this did not go amiss to her watchful eyes.
Despite her mother's dislike for the head family, Hatsuyuki quite enjoyed Shinratsu's company, and she could tell by how her brother accepted the prince's presence, Ko-aniue was also beginning to see Shin-kun as an extension to their family too. And truthfully, to her, there was nothing wrong with that... They shared the same clan name and blood, didn't they? The small matters of the branches and clan politics did not interest her as much as the fact that the clan was full of many different kinds of people.
Her mother disapproved, but she no longer cared. Main family, branch family, Hatsuyuki grew to love them all equally.
Mizukage
The destruction left by the Water Master did not upset her as deeply as her brother thought. The only thing that saddened her most about the event was the loss of so many lives... But her parents had reconciled when they faced together once more a common enemy. Her parents died together: but they had died happy.
She could not help but think in some ways the appearance of the Water Master was karmic justice. She daresay it even lifted a strenuous weight from her heart, that the appearance of Mistress reminded the clan so sharply: no, they were not immortal, and it was time that the Fubuki learned to melt their hearts and love unconditionally again. Her clan had grown cold and enclosed in their hearts over the years, placing themselves above the villagers, and it was no surprise that Lord Shinkou had been unable to convince the Kirigakurians to fight the usurper. After all, why should the village trust a clan who refuses to even live with them? And hadn't Kiri always honored strength above all else? Can the woman of the Water even be rightfully called an usurper of the seat of Mizukage if she had won her seat with power?
But what grieved her most, was that the last conversation she had Shin ended only in her acceptance that he was transversing on a path she could no longer follow. Hearing that his body was not found among the dead only confirmed her thoughts: if any one would survive, of course it would be him, and one day their ideals would collide again. Her brother doesn't understand - she doesn't cry over Shin because she believes he is dead - but she cries over the darling little boy who has now irrevocably become lost to her.
Pride
She bargained her pride for her clan's freedom, even while fully understanding the price that was later to be paid. When the clan accuse her, she smiles, because they are right. She did everything they had held was wrong. Yet she regrets the choice not one moment, because if she could choose to do the same again, she would do so once more. But she entertains her brother's concerns for her to be more careful, not because she truly valued her own life, but because if she was dead there would be nothing more she could do for the clan and if she was dead, Ko-aniue would cry and that was wrong to make him so sad.
But it does break her heart that those sharing her name, her blood, could be so cold as to desire the life of one of their own. Was that... The pride of kekkai genkai bearing families? To forget even what being human meant?
Connection
She was the first to insist on helping the villagers when the Kirigakurians had nowhere else to stay -- the cataclysmic battle between the Earth and Water Master had left much of Kiri in ruins -- ignoring the angry protests of her own family. Even her own brother approached her, inquiring her as to her reasons. Her lips had thinned with displeasure then: shouldn't her aniue be the one person who knows her best?
"For the future," she tells him, and by the startled light in his eyes, she thinks his mind made the connection at last.
Lies
Almost three years later, she wonders when she had lost her brother too. Whenever she faces him now, he refuses to tell her anything, and when she asks him questions, he tells her elaborate lies.
It comes to her mind then: perhaps they are not so different. Wasn't both she and Ko-aniue reaching for a goal they see that was best?
Even while she can call him out for lying to her, she does not do or say anything more.
