As she was enjoying the comfort of her bed, a shimmering, silver light to her left appeared, shaping itself into the figure of a young woman... with large wings protruding from her back, and a sword hanging from her waist. Amaya immediately sat up, grinning broadly. "Aegis!" She exclaimed, jumping up to hug the young woman. "Well someone's certainly enjoying her first day," replied Aegis, smiling as she hugged Ammy in return. "What are you doing here?" Ammy asked, pulling away and still grinning. "Checking up on you, of course," Aegis stated simply. "So, make any friends yet? Amaya chuckled and replied, "I just got here. I was thinking about exploring the school in a bit, although I'm not really sure where to go."
"Well that's no reason to stop you. We could go flying, if you want." Aegis grinned at her, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Is that a challenge?" Amaya asked, smirking. Grinning, Aegis replied, "Winner buys us both ice cream." With a mischievous look of her own, Ammy replied, "You are SO on." Aegis smirked. "Great," she said, confidence in her stride as she went toward the window. "Let's see now... Whoever reaches that tower firs-" Aegis was cut off by a sudden, chilling breeze. "Uh oh... duty calls," she said, frowning. "Aw! But you just got here!" Ammy replied, equally disappointed. "I know, I know, but you know how it is. If Row comes a'callin, you better go right away before she eats your soul." The two of them laughed at that. Row, more commonly known by her full name, Rowena, was a warrior angel, and a very serious one at that. She was strict, and intimidating, at times. It would be a bad idea to cross her. "Well, I guess I better get going then. It was nice seeing you, Ammy. Maybe next time we'll race, okay?"
"Sounds good," Amaya replied with a smile. "See you later!" Aegis called as she dissipated into a silver light before vanishing completely. Amaya waved her off, then sat on her bed, wondering what to do next. She sighed and rose to her feet, then strode over to the window to gaze out. The view brought a smile to her face, and she was tempted to jump off the balcony and stretch out her wings. Maybe later, she thought. A bird's eye view of the school would be fun, but she should probably learn the school by way of walking first. She continued to stare out, thinking over where she really wanted to go. I should just go where the wind takes me, she thought, and she turned away from the window, striding over to the door. With one last look at her new dorm room, she walked out, wandering down the hall and stairs, and heading out the door.
