[ Ranking and Advancement in L.O.T.U.S. ]

Characters' ranks are important in LOTUS. Their ranks determine what missions they're allowed to take, which tracks they decide to specialize in, which countries they are allowed to go to and if they can lead other characters on missions. A low-level character probably isn't going to have nearly as much contact with all the danger, mystery, and intrigue that a top-tanked one will. Things will get progressively more complex and more difficult as you climb that ladder.

Characters are roleplay-required. You've probably read this. This is where it comes into play. Characters who aren't active in Lotus won't advance in rank, and if a character is inactive for long enough, will be taken away from that player.

[ The Ranks ]

New Recruit - All LOTUS members begin as new recruits into the league. They do not have a specific job or specialty as of yet. This is the lowest rank. It gives new members a chance to get comfortable at LOTUS. As a new recruit, you are restricted to the LOTUS base and to your home country. After completing a mission in a certain country, you are granted access to that country. Example mission: aid clean-up and rescue efforts after a natural disaster.

Level One - After passing the aptitude test, you choose a specialization track and begin to tailor your skills (more on that in the next post). Some missions can only be completed by members with certain skills.
Example mission:serve as a bodyguard for a high-ranking official.

Level Two - You can now go on higher class missions and are permitted to lead others on missions.
Example mission: investigate and try to debunk a conspiracy that's about to lead to war.

Elite - Being an elite member of Lotus means the ablility to take missions of any class. You are now at the top of Lotus' social heirarchy.
Example mission: One of the Superni has been paying suspicious attention to a given area. Figure out what she's doing and, if necessary, stop her.

[ Advancing in Rank ]

At these points you'll have new missions open to you, get new character art and choose your track.

To earn "New Recruit" status:
You don't have to earn this rank.

To earn "Level One" status:
Execute two (2) successful missions
or
Complete three (3) missions

Pass Wraith's aptitude test.
- During this aptitude test, you will choose which area you would like to specialize in and thus which track within LOTUS you would like to pursue.

To earn "Level Two" status:
Execute four (4) successful missions
or
Complete six (6) missions

Dedicatedly participate* in at least one "Crystal Retrieval" event. (These will be clearly announced.)

To earn "Elite" status:
Execute eight (8 ) successful missions
or
Complete eleven (11) missions

Dedicatedly participate* in at least one "Crystal Retrieval" event. (These will be clearly announce.)

* sticking your head in the door, making one or two posts, and then disappearing won't make an event count towards your ranking.

NOTE: You may also use non-mission roleplays to advance in rank. The "exchange rate" for these is as follows:

1 Mission = 2 Open RPs = 3 Private RPs = 6 solo RPs/journal entries

If you trade ORPs and/or PRPs for missions, you must complete enough to equal 3 missions.

NOTE: 1 NPC PRP that reaches 5-6 pages (or more) will be counted as 2 private RPs.

Wraith will be very angry at you. xD

I jest. Trust me, you'll know if it was unsuccessful.
