The young colt had made his way out of the family lands once again. He was use to sneaking away from his father and all the training he was put through, but honestly there was going to be a time when he wasn’t going to sneak out anymore. His father probably already knew what he was doing and when he did grow up it would be harder just because he will be a little bit more bulky and big. Sadly he received his father’s build and wasn’t as small as most other foals. It wasn’t a problem just he knew now why his father made him a warrior. His brother probably wouldn’t have to worry about that lifestyle. He considered him lucky.
Snorting in frustration, he finally made it out of the forest and onto the open plains. It was dark by this point and the moon was lighting up everything around him. He took a quick glance around before continuing on. He had no real location in mind or intention of doing anything other then wander at this point. He hadn’t been getting out much lately since his father had been laying more and more training on him. His body hurt a little bit, but his mind was free of all burdens. He wasn’t like his cousins who had tougher responsibilities then him, so he had a little more lenient schedule even though he always felt the urge to push himself. He constantly wanted to be stronger. This he blamed his father for.
“Hmph…I will be the best.” He mumbled as he shoved his foot into the slightly moist dirt. He was a little bit of a hothead and it came from the life he was put into. He laid down in the tall grass peeking his head up a little bit to maybe sneak up on something and scare them. He never had any fun and finding something to amuse him was difficult. He rolled on his side glancing up to the sky for a long moment, then looked away. He never understood why his cousin believed in a higher beings and the other believed in stars. Like what the hell was up with that? He wasn't a believer in anything. He didn't even understand why anyone would want friends. He was taught they could and would betray you at any moment in time. If it was a life or death situation it could happen. So he didn't want any.
Hearing ruffling in the grass, he poked his head up seeing a fox scurry off making him smirk. He rose to his feet and began to trot after it. A little tracking or hunting skill wouldn't hurt either. Keeping a close eye on it, he didn't pay much attention to anything else as he followed the smaller animal.

She loved nights like these. Clear, calm, quiet. Al Sa'd al Matar couldn't help it. The little filly had been by herself since she emerged from her basket. Left alone, not even her siblings around, she didn't... mind. She loved looking upon the stars and loved to roam around. She knew it was dangers; she could tell. She was a filly still, after all, and she couldn't defend herself very well. But she was fast, she knew that! If she could run, she would be okay. Matar knew that, and even though there were times when she was scared, she was a brave little filly, and would do anything she could to survive.
Wandering quietly forward, Matar looked around. Her bright eyes flickered from one side, to another. She wasn't sure where she was, but there was nothing wrong with that. Her eyes lingered quietly on a set of stars, staring at them for several seconds. Flicking her little tail, Matar stood on her hind legs, peering at the stars as best as she could, before she lowered herself down. So at the very least, she could continue to wander. They didn't tell her where to go, but she was still learning! So she didn't hold it against the gentle stars.
Her ears perked. Something was ahead of her. Moving forward a bit more quickly, Matar peeked out from the bushes and trees to peer at a small, light colored colt. She picked up the words, and her eyes flickered toward the stars for a few seconds, before looking back down toward him once more. Curious, she followed as he started another direction, her tail shifting again. Ears perked, and eyes locked, Matar was careful as she walked, and moved, not wanting to make much noise. She was curious of this colt. She hadn't met another younger Soquili before; hell, she hadn't met an older one before. But she was going to find out more and more about them if she could. She didn't want to impose, so she would quietly watch, unless he noticed her.
"...? Hm..." Matar whispered, mostly to herself.

Zachariah weaved and pounced after the fox before he grew tired of the little bit of fun he was having. He usually grew very bored of things easily so it was no surprise that his suffered the same outcome. This little tracking exercise he did with the fox sent him further away from where he was before. He turned his head to look and see if maybe there was something that changed around here, but nothing really did. That was until he noticed another foal standing there in the distance making him raise his brow. Oh boy did he hope she didn’t see him acting like a total idiot. He was a little too serious for a colt his age and that probably wouldn’t change.
Being bold and curious by nature, the young colt made his way over to the other flicking his tail a few times behind himself. “Hey you.” He said to her as he came to a halt only a few feet from her. There was one thing he did notice about her that he found a little strange. She had feathers where her tail was. Were they attached to her or just decoration? He slowly circled her and scoffed lightly. “Are you part chicken?” He asked as he stuck his face right in her face. He believed in personal space by all mean, but sometimes he forgot there was such a thing as it. He usually got into his own little world ignoring all boundaries and everything else. “So your out here wandering around too?”
He tilted his head and remembered one thing he had to ask. He needed to know if she saw him acting up a minute ago. “Did you happen to see me…you know..acting weird a second ago?” He asked her and hoped she said no. If not…well he would have to build his reputation back up again or simply not care about it.

She stared after him with curious eyes. Martar tilted her head. She was really curious about him. He seemed so lively. She suppressed a giggle, and at the same time, continued to follow with a slight quickness to her little steps, and at the same time, was making sure that he didn't notice her. But when he stopped, she panicked. Matar wasn't sure where to hide. She looked around for a second, before locking eyes back on the colt, only to see him staring back. Her ears shot up in attention, and her eyes flickered along him for a moment, before she took half a step back, her tail wiggling behind her, showing she was nervous.
Rearing her head back slightly, Matar watched him with big eyes. She was about to say hello back, but he started to walk around her. Matar turned her head, trying to watch him. She tilted her head, watching him, before turning and looking at him from the other way, tail flicking again, causing the little feathers to move with the action. She lifted a hoof, before pawing at the ground a bit, digging into the soft dirt. "Chicken? Nope~ I don't know what those are from." Matar said easily, nodding her head. She smiled lightly, before looking back toward him once more.
"Hm? Yea! I don't have parents, so I'm exploring! No one can tell me no, so I thought I could do it without worrying~" Matar said, her voice easily coming off. She wiggled slightly, tail flicking, before looking over toward the stars again. Her eyes flickered, locked, before looking back down toward the other foal again. "Huh? Weird? Nope! I thought you were being cool! I've never seen anyone track another animal before, and it was really nifty. You'll be the best, I'm sure! The stars say so!" She said, nodding her head curtly as if she knew all of what she was saying was true.

This girl was in fact strange. Not only did she not know what those feathers were, but she reminded him of his cousin Astraea, the silent type. It didn't really bother him too much since he would prefer silence over someone over talkative. He did enough of that for a crowd of Soq so it was really nothing he would miss. "No parents? Ugh what I would give for that..." He said to her, but then thought about it a little more. That was sad that she had no parents. Who was there to care about her? Who was there to teach her things? He might not have liked his father hawking over him all the time, but he couldn't imagine him not there. "Do you have someone to look after you or are you truly alone?" He just had to ask. Maybe it was his protective nature coming out or he was just being plain annoying with his questions. It was something he was constantly doing. Asking everything and anything he could.
Then she said something strange again and it made him raise his brow. Cool? Nifty? The stars!? What was wrong with this girl? Maybe she needed a parent to look after her before she completely lost it. "Cool? I would never think I was being cool let alone nifty. What do you mean the stars say so? Do you believe in them too? My cousin believes she came from them. I can't say I believe her since it seems so impossible and a bunch of bull----." There is was. His filthy mouth making itself known. He flicked his tail and laughed. "The stars...Here I thought it was only my family that was weird with there belief in spirits and all. Here I found someone else that is just as weird." He ranted for a good bit before finally going silent. "So what is your name?" He decided to ask. He at least wanted to remember this weirdo in some way.

Matar shifted a bit, movign from one hoof to the other. At least he wasn't some evil, flesh eating being. Nope, he was cool! She wiggled her tail happily, before looking at him with bright eyes. TIlting her head slightly to the side, Matar blinked, her eyebrow raising some. He didn't want parents? That was weird. Most people wanted parents, right? They were someone to teach them.. Shifting once more, Matar's eyes locked on the colt again, her head cocking to the left. "I... I dunno. I don't have anyone, really. You're the first person I've talked to in a long long time." She said, still holding that smile. "It's okay though! I am never really lonely, I don't think." She said.
Shifting once more, Matar peered up at the skies. She smiled for a few moments, before looking toward him once more. Her hooves shifted a bit, digging into the ground, messing the dirt, before holding still again. She blinked, her eyes flickering from his nose, down to his hooves, before back up. I don't believe in spirits and stuff. I just read the stars! They hold patterns and stuff, and can show you paths, like navigation." She stated, her head nodding. She liked to look at the stars. They were her friends, really, even though they didn't talk to her in a manor. She wiggled her tail again, before smiling, and bowed her head down a bit in greeting, even though she had been talking to the colt for a little bit. "My name is Al Sa'd al Matar! But you can call me Ali or Mattie. Or Matar. Either one." She said. "What's your name?"

Twisting his tail around his right back leg, he wondered a little bit what it would be like to not have anyone at all. No parents, no brothers, no sister, no family at all just nothing but pure solitude. He didn't know what that felt like at all. He probably would only mind it a little bit because without his mother or father there wasn't any structure in his life. "That must be boring..." He asked finding this very odd since if someone in his family found her, she probably would have been adopted in a heart-beat. Hania Shen didn't exactly like children running wild without structure in their life. "Did you find someone to adopt you or something? Well I guess it's good that you haven't been very lonely. I couldn't imagine life without my father...he pretty much brings the structure into my life." He nodded to her and even though there were some days where he wanted to kick his father in the face, he wouldn't be there without his father in his life.
"The stars? You sound like my cousin Astraea. She is into all that astrology crap, but she still believes in the spirits." He told her with a small sigh. "Well are the stars directing you anywhere at the moment?" He asked tilting his head a little bit at her. "Matar? Hmm...maybe. My name is Zachariah. You can call me Zach for short." He shrugged looking away from her at the moment.

Matar smiled some, shaking her rump a bit. She was excited, so she was trying to get a bit of her energy out of her system. She watched him with curious eyes, before tilting her head lightly to the side. What? He looked kinda sad... or something.. Shaking out her mane, the filly lifted one hoof, and then the other, practically prancing in spot. She stopped after a moment, her head tilting to the side, watching him. Boring? Well... it kind of was. Shaking her head a bit, the filly peered at him. "No... I don't have anyone taking care of me. I'm by myself!" Saying it hurt, but she ignored it, and pushed the pain, the sorrow, to the back of her head so that she wouldn't have to face it any time soon.
At the mention of stars, the shiny pretty lights that she loved so much, Matar's eyes lifted up toward the sky. She stared for a few seconds, before lowering her eyes and stared toward Zachariah again. Smiling some, she shrugged her shoulders and turned some, before tilting her head lightly toward him. "Not really. They were being quiet~ I just know that I saw you and got really interested." She said, smiling toward him, before nodding her head rather happily. "It's good to meet you Zach!"
