Clerise tucked her phone into a pocket, frowning. Man... Did Rep seriously have a problem with her? It'd been a while since she'd last seen him, mano a mano. When was it? In the bunkers after the apocalypse, or something?

Christ. How had time gotten away from her. They were both intermediates, now, not quite all grown up but in the process of advancing.

And now he was getting up in arms at her, and it gave her a weird twist when she couldn't tell if he was just ******** around and being himself-- or if Rep seriously had problems with her and Dakota.

So, instead of sitting and stewing over it, Clerise grabbed a bottle of rum from Clarice's fridge-- one that she had purchased, thanks very much!-- and sent a text to a certain lab tech. A few negotiations later, as well as signing up for some testing of an unknown prototype, the Life hunter had a cake. Cream cheese icing and all.

Balancing the plate in one hand, the vodka nestled into the crook of her arm, Clerise struggled to type a few twitter messages. After all, she didn't even know where his room was. Fortunately, it was the same floor-- so she stomped over to it, bumping it with her hip instead of knocking.

"REEeeepppp!"

Thankfully the tweets had given Rep some time to put some clothes on, dressed in denims and his coat when he swung the door open, phone still in one hand. The vaguely irritable expression he'd had melted away completely as he took in the wonderful sight of cake and booze. He couldn't help the grin that took its place either.

"Sup man?" It had been a while since he'd had a chance to talk to Clerise at all other than on twitter - and phone interactions with anyone on the island tended to leave quite a lot of nuance out.

There was nothing malicious at all in his tone as he purred. "Come to reward me for my tremendous burns?"

The redhead just laughed raucously as Rep's ire melted away. "Oh my godd it's like your catnip," she said, thrusting the plate at him. It was covered, at least, so it wasn't exposed to the open air.

"I dunno if I'd call them sick burns. A cry for help, maybe," she said grievously, doing her best to keep a serious expression. She leaned in, eyes narrowed.

Bottle of alcohol still in hand, she hooked an arm around Rep's shoulder pulling him close, and used her free hand to noogie him something tremendous.

"C'mon. Let's go hug it out. With weapons, and sharp things, out where there's space for your ridicubutt weapon. I mean, honestly. I haven't even seen your weapon since you've leveled up, I can only imagine that it's grown more sizes than the grinch's heart."

Rep took the cake with the more careful reverence, whatever bad mood he'd been in completely forgotten, even the noogie, rather than resulting in wriggling and complaint simply involved him trying to keep the cake as balanced on its plate as possible. "Oi Oi!" he said, with that same grin "Careful man!"

"Tracey got fat." he said dismissively. "But I'm always game. Just gimme a sec." The cake was placed on a table in the room, but clearly this wasn't quite enough as he went off and rummaged around for paper and a pen, writing "REPS CAKE" on it before placing it atop the cake, just in case anyone made the mistake of thinking it was a gift or somehow fair game.

"Right sorted." he stated with a sage nod, cake secured. "Lets go."

"Hah! I had the opposite problem, seriously." She smirked as Rep carefully wrote out his note, an altogether civilised manner of claiming his territory.

With an amused twinkle in her eye, Clerise headed down towards the training fields. "Don't call your weapon fat," she chastised, but it was without any heart. "Maybe he's just taking after your own heart. Fattykins." She jabbed Rep in between the ribs, jostling him. She didn't have to worry about playing nice with Rep-- he was rough around the edges, and that was fine with her.

"How you been, dude? Been a while, eheh."

Rep looked promptly scandalised. "I'm not fat." Though it was with wavering conviction. "Right?" He shook the doubts off with a roll of his eyes, he couldn't be, there wasn't enough good food on the island to get fat on. When a cake was like a circular slice of heaven things were pretty ******** bad.

"Aye its been a long time, amazing how fast time flies on this island man." It was good to talk to her again face to face.

"How've you been doing?" he mused as they made their way onto the training fields proper. "Still just messing around with Dakota?" His expression edged into the realm of curiously blank. "Cause I hear Clarice is back."

Clerise kept the serious face on for a good two seconds before falling apart into a bout of snickering. She shoved herself against a door, forcing it open with her shoulder, since it was one of those push ones rather than one with any sort of knob.

"You're telling me. Six months is a longass time to go by in a flash." She huffed, stretching her arms out in front of her, shaking them out.

"I've been a'ight. Better since I got Balthazar back, near-death experience nonwithstanding. Honestly, not too much, he's been pretty busy with other ladies." A grin crept over her face; but it was a proud one. "I never wanted to be end-game, more like a stepping stone so he could get a better fitting lady."

The Life hunter stalled, for a moment, at the mention of Clarice, chewing on her lip instead of answering. "She is," Clerise replied, careful. "Nothing's...changed. Or whatever." A frown crossed her face, and red brows knitted. "I--I don't even know, dude. Seriously. Things are weird without being weird. I haven't exactly. Moved out yet? I mean, my room's sort of shot to hell, but."

She waved her arms, huffing in frustration. "It's different."

Rep wasn't entirely sure about the situation with Clerise and Clarice, it seemed complicated to say the very least. Still the implication was she was still living there even with the division assistant back. It was an odd feeling for him, even given his own situation with the guys it was very hard to accept the possibility of two women in a relationship as normal. It made him bristle at the thought. He decided rather than lecturing her on something he'd asked about and sparking an argument, to let it slide.

"Well, s**t has a funny way of sorting itself out so who knows?" He'd cross that bridge when he came to it. If it came to it.

He gave her a long suffering smile. "Relationships man."

Clerise was, at the least, thankful that Rep didn't push it. Verbalising it-- whatever it was-- was hard enough, let alone trying to explain it in words that didn't make her sound retarded. More retarded than usual, anyway.

"Buh. Yeah, yours seemed to work out okay." She gave Rep a sidelong glance, brow raised. "Yeahhh. I feel you." She clapped him heartily on the back, and then basked in the sunlight. It was weak, and there was still fog-- as always-- but it wasn't unbearably warm out any more, which was a relief in its own right.

"So," Clerise booped Rep's nose. "Let's see Tracey's junk in the trunk."

Rep gave Clerise an indulgent smile, tolerating all the touching in a way he simply didn't with most other people. It didn't feel invasive or patronising, merely camaraderie. "It did. I'm still ******** shocked and waiting for it all to go to hell. Like everything does in the end." Despite his dismal comment, he sounded optimistic about the prospects, everything came to an end, but that didn't mean soon.

"Alright, you wanna see fatty the axe."

He summoned the vast axe to hand, shifting his balance instinctually to compensate.

"Here's fatty."

To Clerise, Rep was family. They had their differences, to sure. Clerise was more carefree about some things, and Rep didn't care enough about others, at times-- but they were still on the level in a lot of the ways that mattered. It was comfortable, in its own way. You hate the things they do, sometimes. Maybe a lot of the time. But you're there for them-- when they're worried, but also when they need a smack upside the head.

She'd been sort of slacking in both regards.

"Yeah, well. Life's short, and then you die, and it probably won't even be a glamorous one,"Clerise reminded Rep, her lips twisting. She wasn't that bitter, not these days, but it was something she'd grown to accept. "Better to die young and beautiful and wild than to die old and broken anyway."

She let out a low whistle as Tracey came into view.

"That," the redhead said, brows raised. "Is ridiculous. How do you even carry him?" It took only a few seconds for Balthazar to materialise, two decent sized sickles covered in red runes.

Tossing one of the blades in the air, Clerise deftly caught it, and nimbly danced towards Rep, trying to find a way to get past the beast that was Tracey. The sheer size of his weapon was going to be a problem. He had longer reach, so Clerise just had to hope she was faster.

She swiped at Rep, the blade just glancing past Tracey. Not the most effective blow.

"He's not quite as heavy as he looks. But close I guess."

Balthazar didn't look like he was much to be trifled with either, despite Clerise's comment about Tracey. It was always the nimble close range ******** he had to look out for, mid range and Tracey could make mincemeat out of given half a chance, too close even the handle became a problem.

The blow against his shield was glancing but still a warning not to underestimate too badly. He wasn't about to get cocky, Clerise had just as much fire as he did.

Leaping back, he brought Tracey around in a sweep, letting the weight behind him do the damage.

"Maybe it's cos you guys get along better, these days. I remember using Balthazar used to sssuuuuuckkkkk ballllss," Clerise offered thoughtfully. The reaper in her head agreed, but he also implied that, well. She'd deserved it. The redhead couldn't argue.

The smack of Tracey was strong enough to send the redhead skidding back across the field, her sneakers tearing up the grass.

Clerise blinked, frozen in place.

"Huh. That was really good-- he ******** hurts with a single swipe now, jesus!"

"Aye. Swinging him used to be a ******** chore. But now eh. I'm used to him. Partners in crime."
he said, it was still difficult to wield the massive axe but these days that was more down to the physical limitations of his own body, there was only so much shock a muscle could absorb. He wasn't flexible, nimble or honed enough to use him half as well as he deserved, but at least he was making an effort to get better, spars were the best way to do it.

With a grunt of effort - what it always took to overcome the inertia of a bit of sheet metal - he swung Tracey again, though this time a feint, intentionally going wide to bring him 360 for a bit of extra kick before once again he connected, a little off target but nonetheless enough to get a taste of fear, the familiar desire for a charge gnawing at both of their minds.
