Apply here to be on the plot committee. Note that you do not need to be on the plot committee to post your ideas. ANYONE can post their ideas, no matter the committee, in the brainstorming thread! Applying to be on the plot committee is for people who want to work out the finer details of the plot and the rooms. It will be a fairly big job, but the committee will be quite small this year, so only the most serious applicants will be accepted.
It's nothing personal if you aren't selected!! I value everyone's ideas and thoughts equally (which is why I want everyone to contribute to our brainstorming thread) but when it comes to the grunt work of putting all those ideas together I will be choosing from people that have already shown that they work well with others, consider all suggestions, respect ideas and suggestions from everyone, and are open-minded and flexible, adapting to change and new ideas as they come.
Thank you!
(There is no form for this. I'm going to go ahead and assume that if you would like to be on the plot committee, which is based on writing, that you will be able to come up with a paragraph or two with your reasoning without me sorting them out for you!)

I, Violet the (totally awesome, multi-talented) Maestro hereby apply to be part of the plot committee. You see, art isn't really my thing, and people tend to ignore my advertising stunts, and I really like having my avi change throughout the year, which is why you are just seeing me apply for something now. I take it you want some information as to why you should select someone like me for such an important task, and so I shall quit rambling and get on with it.
To start things off, I'm pretty flexible when it comes to ideas. I am perfectly able to come up with my own ideas, and I'm fine with getting critiqued on them. I'm not afraid to admit that sometimes somebody else as an idea better than mine. I won't throw a fit over it. Secondly, this is the user-run ball, which basically means every single Gaian that could ever want to do something as amazing as this should be able to put their ideas in and see elements of them pop up. Obviously they'd have to fit within the theme of the ball and Gaia's ToS.
After the relatively small number of people working on the School Room last year, I feel as though I'm ready to handle working on the Plot Committee. A lot of the ideas came from Daku, Mal, or I. When we had to change our plot around mid-planning, I didn't curl up in my bed and think that everything was over. I got to thinking how we could still pull off an awesome plot with the resources we had. Honestly, I think we came up with some good stuff.
Now, the theme is Classic Literature. Well, I've read quite a bit of classic lit, and I'm not afraid to go running to the library (or Sparknotes if time is short) to get more information on any I've not yet gotten the chance to read. I'd do my best to create a plot in which each piece is portrayed in a manner respectful to the original work. In fact, that's where I would actually put my foot down. Also, this theme may not entirely appeal to the entire Gaia populace, and so, if selected, I shall do my best to make the plot something that will be understandable to those who would rather not read classics, and perhaps even make it something that could inspire them to read a few of the works we select.

I, who goes by the name Gwendolyn Barrett, am a Lover of the Victorian era, Renaissance era and Shakespeare. My favorite Play is Romeo and Juliet followed by Hamlet. I Love to read Fantasy novels, Currently reading Clockwork Angel. It's a Vampire novel set in the Victorian era. I haven't had much time to pick it up since I opened my own B/C shop and moved, but I still love it nonetheless. I also like The Souls of Aredyrah by Tracy Ackers. I Fantasy novel series that may or may not be very well known. I know that none of these are classic Lit but still it's what I'm reading now.
I may be on the Fundraising committee but I have something in the works for that. I want to be able to add my two cents with the plot and help make things work. I am a great listener and get along well with anyone. If I happen to have an issue with someone, i'll take to them in PM. I hope to be able to help with the plot.

I believe that I should be a part of this group. I am a veteran roleplayer and many people have told me that I am a fantastic writer. I am very creative, and am currently working on two novels and a manga. I always have ideas, so if we're stuck with writers block, I could think something up in a snap. I am also a damn good artist if I do say so myself. I am on Gaia at least once a day, for several hours, so I am ALWAYS available.
I was one of the lead commenters last year in the Nightmare room, trying to move the plot along and working twice as hard as any of the actual main character roleplayers. I have only participated in the 2011 ball, but I enjoyed it very much. Books are my life, and I dream to be an author some day, so I have plenty of experience with this particular theme. If I had to say, I would love to be assigned to the Horror aspect of the project because I love Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft and my main roleplay character is a demon named Lunacy.

Hey, question. Can people from other committees join the Plot committee? If so, I'd like to join, but if not, I'll help from afar. ^_^

Okay, time for pinkie's text vomit self promotion!
Okay, so here's why I want to be on the plot comttee. I am head over heels in love with the theme. I've been whoring suggesting the theme for a while. I'm nerdy like that! I feel like I have a good grasp on different books we can use, different ideas we can use, and helpful things we should know. Plus, I'm a massive people-pleasing brown-nosed overachiever. You can't stop me from helping! *dramatic pose*
That's all I can think of to say. Time to work on art I need I get done and essays I need to write.

I'll be honest. Until the main plot is nailed down, I'm pretty much going to be neglecting the advertising committee except in terms of administration/networking. sweatdrop But, on the bright side, that means that I'll be focusing my Gaia time on you guys! heart

Good evening, fair ladies and gentlemen. Tonight, I present to you Silver Starlight, who has so graciously offered her time and growing skills for the plot committee!
Silver, who has partook in the past two balls, has decided to try her hand at something bigger than a single room! She would like to aid in the plot planning of an entire ball! Under the supervision of her superiors, of course!
Silver happens to have a GREAT LOVE of classic literature! A fan of Shakespeare's pioneering of the field, and in love with the stories told over the years, be it Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, and Jekll and Hyde among others, she is certainly a capable aid in the challenge.

Well, firstly, I have a habit of wanting to help everywhere that I can. I'm part of the Art committee, doing graphics (not too recently due to photoshop fail which is still being resolved), as well as in the host club, lurking uncertainly at the moment but planning to, by Monday, have read through everything in this guild starting there (which should be quite the endeavor). I am NOT on the advertising committee because one, I suck at selling anything because I want to do freebies all the time, and two, I have so little experience raising funds for anything that I'd just be in everyone's way.
But, naturally, I have now decided that I want to be here. Writing my heart out. Learning to love all the classics- by reading sparknotes then the story, because otherwise I get confused as all heck- because they are a genre I was only introduced to through school as 'read then write a strictly structured essay about the symbolism you didn't and never will see'.
One classic I do love, and am reading cover to cover again, is the tales of Sherlock Holmes. He's just fantabulous. All the time.
But otherwise, you can stalk a majority of my posts and see that, in general, I will write my little heart out, get writers' block, make one of those little plot-list-thingies, and force myself to write on. And generally, when I get blocked, my posts are twice as long as the norm. Which is just...odd. But not an issue pertinent to anything here.
Also, while I'm not doing it here, I always go back and edit everything, rearrange stuff, make it magical and flowing in general, and get rid of things that are off topic.
And...I think I'm out of things to say. Maybe. If not, I'll make another post, or edit this one to include it. Without editing the order of anything, which might make me die a little on the inside, but just a little. I'll be fine.

I changed my mind im bored and want to be in the plot committee.
MystMist graciously and humbly request the honor to be in the plot committee, she pledge to be committed and to always do her best to support the 11th Annual user-run ball because she want to create an experience that all will enjoy and a ball that will be unforgettable. She will write poems, stories and ballads as quickly and as precisely as her quill will allow her and she will bring the uniqueness of her mind to help the story take form and progress.
But more to the point i like this thing and i like the ball so i want to help and i want to be appreciated and maybe even become one of the crew one day and i need all the experience i can get so being on the plot committee would really help me develop my writing style and my role playing abilities and it would be fun to work with more of the crew than just A glass passenger, who don't post all too often in the advertisement forum where i currently am committed. And my menu discussion thread was fairly popular 89 posts and that is more than most of the threads in this guild so far and it was a good idea and i hope it will help.
And i always have opinions on everything, the physical, the metaphysical and the unknown.
And I'm a representative of Europe and our time-zones so i can be in at other times than some of you and keep posting on threads during that time so that there is activity on threads during my time too because some threads like RP threads only feels good by getting constant attention.
and if you haven't seen any of my poetry yet ill include some in this application,
Dancing with the wind is something i do because when you dance with wind the wind dance with you the wind it coils it twist around you you move, you change and dance with it you grab and follow and try to catch it but the wind it always slips away the wind it gathers around you because you have always had win inside you the wind is always with you because just as you it is ever changing and yet always the same
Fall is the wind season for me so many of my poems take on the element wind.
cough...sniffle...cough...i have a bad cold and lost my voice due to that so feel sorry for me.

I'm signing up!
I will try to be dedicated - after all, life DOES get in the way. My suggestion in the plot planning thread seems to be well-liked too. If we do rooms by genre, I would do my absolute best to make the Horror and/or Science Fiction rooms the best EVER.

I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless, little flea, and then I'll put that flea in a box, and then I'll put that box inside of another box, and then I'll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives..Gah! I totally forgot about this! gonk
Okey dokey, I (Hikari Aijuntani) want to apply to be on the Plot Committee. Even though it wasn't my first choice in theme, it was my second choice. I'm by far the world's biggest reader. I read practically everything I can get my hands on; and have far more books than I have bookshelves. I'm a pretty good brainstormer and I think I'm fairly creative. I am a decent RPer.
All in all I'd love to be apart of the Plot Committee. ...I'll smash it with a hammer! It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, I tell you! Genius, I say!
