Jett had ended up staying at work a little later than normal—half because a new shipment had gotten in and he was finishing up unloading it…and half because he had gotten ridiculously distracted with analyzing the new arrival. It was no secret to anyone that knew him that he had an affinity with antiques—and while he often talked of starting and owning a multi-million dollar company, the antique store he worked in would always be a soft spot for him.

Some days, he wondered how he could ever want anything else. Other days, he just dreamed about the power and prestige that came from owning a successful corporation.

But sometimes, business and money didn't matter to him.

Sometimes, all Jett wanted to do was look up at the stars and think. A year or so ago, he would have agonized over the sight of the stars. A year ago, he would have wished he were at home, in bed. A year ago, things were a lot different. So many things had changed—and while there was once a time when he'd wished the stars would just go away…now, he missed them.

Tonight was an unusually dark night, and he'd taken the extra effort to take a path he didn't usually tread. It was further away from the bright lights, and gave him a clearer view of the night sky. The stars seemed to be glowing brighter tonight—or perhaps that was just wishful thinking.

While still vaguely aware of his own situation, Jett had dropped a fair majority of his guard in favor of focusing on the sky while he walked. Tonight might be a good night to take it easy. If he powered up, he reasoned that maybe just a walk on the outskirts of Destiny City would be nice—just to take a look at the sky and think. He meandered, taking his sweet time, allowing his mind to wander as he traced imaginary lines in the sky, connecting the stars like dots.
