Eelico swam quietly around the area, a small cove off the coast. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but he would know what it was when he found it.

Breaking the surface the nova stallion looked up to the clouds, they where gray and grumpy looking and that excited him. A storm was coming, and this was the calm before it, ducking back under the water he zoomed about really stirring up the water, jumping out and doing all kinds of flips and such....when the storm actually started he'd stop and then he'd be calm himself.

There was someone else in the water. Eelico could hear them moving somewhere near the entrance to the cove. He swam towards the disturbance, wondering if it was someone he might know. He had no fear of a hostile force--Mosirra was nearby. She would catch anyone who might mean him harm before they reached him.

The stallion was rather distracted in his excitement and then on one of the flips out he heard the rumble, it seemed to be carried over the water. He let the sea take him as for a moment his heart raced as he descended down into the depths and almost out of sight. Then like a sign everything lit up as a sheet of lightening flashed over head and illuminated him back to live, swimming up and just floating on the surface.

The sound of thunder directed Eelico's attention to the sky above. The wind was beginning to whip up the waves--truly, tonight's storm would be a fine one, and Eelico appreciated that. As he swam up towards the surface, he finally saw the other individual--another nova, floating near the surface. Another storm lover? Or was he injured? Eelico swam closer, but said nothing. Another roll of thunder made speaking impossible, anyway. He would have been drowned out if he'd tried.

Gale was oblivious to the presence of another he was fixated on the storm brewing and rapidly approaching from the distant rumbles to overhead. The flashes and booms where getting brighter, louder and closer together, it looked like this one would be over very quickly but an intensive storm was still not to be gabbled at. So much so was his fixation that he found himself quite limp against the waves, letting them take him this way and that, under the water then back up. It made no difference as a Nova he could not drown and eyesight was just as good above or bellow the water. The males only regret was that he hadn't had more warning or foresight to find some sort of land to perch up on so he could look out onto the storms effect on the vast bed of sea he currently bobbed in.

Eelico paused as he came up underneath the stallion. He didn't seem to be struggling, so either he wasn't in any danger, or he was dead. Still curious, and fascinated by the storm, the black nova stuck his head above the choppy waves and peered at the stranger. Yes, his eyes seemed to be open, and another peek under the surface confirmed that his ribs were expanding and contracting. He was still breathing. He was still alive. Relieved, Eelico swam closer and peered up at the approaching lightning. It was beautiful. The entire scene was eerily beautiful, with the lightning illuminating it all and the waves crashing against headland and shore. He decided not to say a word to the other star until the wonderful event had passed.

It seemed the storm was over almost as soon as it had began, the pressure in the atmosphere had been mind blowing and it was a pure magnificent show of nature. The stallion felt an inner sense of calm as the storm and the adrenaline in his system dissipated. Gale found himself fully relax almost as if the storm was all his negative emotions or feelings and had passed right along with it. His weight shifting as his body lay on it's on the water, breathing a sigh and being far to high on events just past to notice he had company.

Eelico backed up a few feet in the water to give the other stallion space, but not so much that he needed to raise his voice to be heard. "Ahoy," he murmured. "That was a beautiful storm, was it not? A pity it had to go away so fast." The black stallion loved thunderstorms, their majesty, their beauty. He also, secretly, loved the potential for stories and adventures. He couldn't help but think of the dramatic tension a truly great storm could cause. Others might have different opinions, of course, and of course he didn't like it when others were hurt, but he wasn't just a person, he was a storyteller. It was what he did.

Though he was caught off guard with the presence of another he made sure not to let it show, Gale kept his body relaxed and ensure he gave no hint that the others voice had startled him slightly. Not wanting to appear rude he woke up his weight and shifted so he was upright, this also allowed him to take in whatever was addressing him and he hadn't quite expected what was before him. "G'day, it was a marvel to behold, a shame yes... though we are not ones to question such things. We can hope for others though." With that he nodded then looked to the sky wistfully starting to work his tail just a little to keep him at the same distance from the other nova.

Eelico nodded. "Yes, we can. I don't know when the next storm will come through, though." He gently pushed his tail back and forth to maintain his own balance, and peered at the other. He didn't recognize the other nova, but that was not at all unusual. No one could know everyone there was to know in the sea. Another individual might have asked for the stranger's name, but Eelico loved his own privacy too much to move in on the privacy of others. Instead, he asked not a question and shrugged. "One will surely come in in a few weeks. Might have to find it out at sea, though. They don't normally come to land."

Equally so Gale seemed to maintain a level of manners without being overly forthcoming with information or a need to know everything about the other nova. Ensuring to stick to an appropriate level of eye contact the male also nodded feeling the atmosphere around them and knowing the stuffy moist effect a approaching storm was long gone. "At least not for a few days I'd say, though after that majestic burst of activity who knows?" He wasn't surprised he didn't know the other nova, he didn't really know anyone, he'd seem only a handful of blurs in the great oceans since his fall. Before that his memory was rather fuzzy but it did not phase him, he was content going about his daily activity and when it graced him with a storm, so much the better. "That's a wonderful idea, if only there where such a way to truly track and chase the dazzling acts of nature."

The black stallion appreciated the stormy stranger's respect for privacy. True, they were technically engaging in small talk--talking about the weather was a classic--but at least he wasn't being pried into. He remembered a friend he'd met a year ago who had never shut up, and had asked questions. A good friend, but not always the most polite individual. "Well, I can hardly wait until the next storm, then." He smiled at the idea of sensing storms--it reminded him of old stories. "Hm, perhaps with magic crystals or mystic pearls? Maybe we could find some storm goddess who would tell us. Or maybe not. Until then, we'll have to hold the memory of this awe-some storm in our eyes."

At the suggestions of crystals and goddesses the Nova seemed to sit up in the water, looking at the other male with intrigue "Do such things exist?" The idea dazed him into a wondrous trail of thought about such possibilities, he knew little of this world, or where he originated and as such it didn't seem impossible to him. "A memory is crystallized perfection of the moment but to be able to sense and track such magnificent creations, I am intrigued now stranger." He paused to ensure he wasn't being overly enthusiastic, to allow himself to re centre, the other was indeed a stranger and he had no intention to form enemies. Equally so he didn't want to come across as strange, with little to compare to it could prove difficult but it was the other whom had suggested such imaginative ideas.

From small talk to big talk, as far as Eelico was concerned. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a good story, a myth, a legend--unless it was an audience to tell that story to, an eager and waiting one! "There are stories," he said. "Stories I've heard about magic pearls with the ability to control the sea, crystals that can track the movement of storms across the night-dark sea. Tales of ancient goddesses and lurking spirits with all the knowledge of the ocean and the waters. I collect stories," he said by way of explanation. "So I know quite a few of them. It's always been an object of fascination for me, how the sea works and what its mysteries are." He allowed a rare smile to cross his lips. "I am always glad to share my stories."
