The Publicity thread is looking for a handful of people who are willing to volunteer to role-play in the thread to keep it active. The thread will be up year round and will need active participants to keep it active, hopefully on the first page almost all of the time, and to greet and converse with people when they pop into the thread to see what it is all about. This is no different from what your expectations would be in a Host Club event, but for the following:
- you aren't expected to be in this thread 24/7. We don't even expect an entire weekend from you. What we would appreciate is devotion of time to role-play within, no differently than you would if you were a part of a role-play in Barton town or a guild. Posting a few times a day would be ideal to keep it active, and more if you engage with a partner.
- the theme won't change, so neither should your characters. If you're volunteering to be staff in this thread then please come up with a short profile of who you are - a regular customer, a comic nerd, a server, or a barista - personality, and some interests. Give the guests something to work off if they are looking up characters and want to interact with you. There will be a form below for you to post.
- this thread is a long term commitment, but there is always leniency. Things come up; work, school, holidays, etc. If something pulls you away from the thread then don't feel badly about it, but do try to come back soon. The thread is meant to get attention for the Annual Ball, but it won't get any attention at all if it's forgotten and ten pages back from the front page.
Anyone who wants to be a regular, please fill out the form below. Anyone else who would like to simply pop in now and then to give it a love-bump or casually RP does not need to fill out a form. These forms will be for the front page of the thread.
Username Character Name Occupation (customer, regular, server, student, etc.) Personality (Also please write a short paragraph on why your character frequents the Cafe and their interests)
Also, we are in need of a name for the Cafe. Please give suggestions for the name in this thread!

Username Jeffrey M Roth Character Name Merriweather 'Merri' Brighton Occupation Book Keeper Personality Cheerful, awkward, and friendly. Can also be a bit aloof at times as well as clumsy.
(Also please write a short paragraph on why your character frequents the Cafe and their interests) Merri works part-time at the Cafe, mostly because he loves the clientele and the unique atmosphere the Cafe provides. Not to mention the books that he can read on break! He would read more comics (than the few series he's invested in) if he had the time, but he certainly is willing to listen to suggestions from regulars. Even when he's not working, he still manages to find himself in the Cafe, dreaming up new characters for his W.I.P. novel. Merri loves animals, but due to a raging cat allergy he only keeps plants. Other interests include Friday Night Specials at the $2 theater in town, and roller derby.
Cafe Name Suggestion: Four Color Cafe!

Username Captain Dory Character Name Barbara (Bobbi, Barb) Knight Occupation (customer, regular, server, student, etc.) Part-time Baker Personality Bobbi is hard working, honest, and independant. She will be either, blunt, or gentle when the situation calls for it. She is not afraid to stand her ground, and is the one who deals with customers should they start getting physical, which is rarely. (Also please write a short paragraph on why your character frequents the Cafe and their interests)
What's a cafe without a baker? Especially when that cafe is a comic-book cafe. Bobbi is talented in the kitchen when it comes to making sweets, and decorating them. She's a student at a Culinary school working to become a professional baker in hopes to open her own confectionary store, and the cafe gives her plenty of practice. Bobbi is also a fan of comic books, and the comic books give her inspiration for decorating her cookies, cakes, etc.

OHMYGODTHANKYOURAOBAYN! I was going to make a thread this afternoon, but I was feeling a bit overwhelmed RL-wise earlier, so when I was online and working on the Host Clubs, this completely slipped my mind. //flails
Anyway, I owe you. So much.

Username Spottedteddybears Character Name Leigh Carson Occupation Barista Personality Leigh is the quiet girl you don't really notice in the back of the room. She is the type that does what needs to be done and stops there. She is shy, headstrong and gets frustrated easily, a combination that is a little strange, but it just defines her. Leigh's motto is "stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours."
(Also please write a short paragraph on why your character frequents the Cafe and their interests) Fresh out of the local college, Leigh needed a job to sustain herself until she finds what she needs to do. She doesn't expect to be around in the cafe for much longer, but she finds the cafe quite charming so working at it isn't too much of a pain. She is a little... unique. Leigh likes painting (decorating coffee with cream is the highlight of her job), making jewellery, bagels, playing guitar, poetic verse and messenger bags with unicorn pins on it. Probably the only thing in common she has with some of the workers in the cafe is that she loves comic books.
Name Suggestions Comic Café? I dunno, does it sound a little boring?

>w< Thank you! And hopefully it was just this afternoon. :/ It was really because of superduperannoyingpeople that stressed me out so much I couldn't even focus on my work. And then I start panicking because I needed to get it done! But anyway, story of my life's over and I'm good now. ^^

Oh man... last time I needed to deal with superduperannoyingpeople it was right after an outing with friends, a few too many cocktails, and we had this nefarious plan to squeeze the coffee creamers at the superduperannoyingpeople and then run out the door of the restaurant.
Alas, the short-term memory of intoxicated people is not that great..
Now we both shared a life story!

LOOL! You squeezed coffee cream at the superduperannoyingpeople? I think your life story is more exciting! o:
But I'm glad we both hate superduperannoyingpeople. They're so annoying.

Hahaha noooo, we forgot we were going to do it in the span of oh... before getting food and finishing the food when it came. Chris got me in the parking lot with my own creamer that I was still packing around, though. Kind of rude.

Circe Silverleaf Victoria Watson Customer Shy, so is rather cold to strangers at first, but gradually warms up to people (Also please write a short paragraph on why your character frequents the Cafe and their interests) Victoria loves to get lost in manga, so she figured "Where else to go but a comic book cafe?" After her first trip, she fell in love with the cafe, from the atmosphere to the amusing people who showed up daily. She sits in the back, hoping not to get noticed, enjoying her stack of comics and her tea (Coffee makes her unable to sleep for days). She loves to imagine crazy situations, invent, mess with magic, and eat sweets.
Cafe Name Suggestion: Um...Amai jikan (roughly means sweet time in Japanese)

Username Alias Facade Character Name "The Professor" Occupation Regular Personality The Professor earned his nickname because he is an older geek with an amazing collection of pop culture references and useless trivia at his disposal that he will gladly share with anyone who will listen. And because "The Doctor" was already taken.
He likes the cafe because it provides him with two of his favorite things: Coffee, and an audience. Did you know that nearly all periods of artistic and philosophical renaissance throughout history coincided with the introduction of coffee into the culture? True story.
