Fay: *rolls her eyes and snaps down some vines for her raft* You picked a lovely first mate and bore a crew and now you cry mutiny just because they wouldn't cleave to you? It's like I always told you...a firm hoof. I don't intend to stay in the hartlands and end up a soft fat mate for some gentle buck I'll be my own Captain if I must but I'm getting back to beautiful Whiterock Beach if if kills me! You know...Essex *frowns at the unfamiliar sound of his name without the Captain added on* You ought to gather your family back up...I'm certain any of your blood would make fine pirates.
Essex: *Completely ignores her rant* Bah! Who cares about all that! Some wench high jacks my sword for a day and you suddenly forget your place. And who ran off on her own without so much as a "by your leave, Captain"? Bah! Mutiny is what it is and mutiny is what it be until you come to your senses, wench. *subconsciously helping her pick some vines* Besides you were suppose to help me find a crew and ya haven't kept up with your deal. I aught to make you walk the blank or hang from the gallows! *snorts dismissively*
Fay: *gasps* You lost your sword?! You reckless fool! Who would dare disarm you, I'll give her a swift kick Capt-terr...well for old times sake. I didn't run off but I thought it would be imprudent to remain underhoof while you made doe eyes at your pretty, not enough room in a crew for two first mates after all. Mutiny me? I jumped ship is all before it could ever come into my head to mutiny against your choices. We were a crew! You've got whelps now, shape em up and ship them out they can be your crew! Ugh don't talk gallows gives me a crik in the neck. *huffs and stamps her hoof exasperated* I thought being a family man would change you Essex!
Essex: Captain! *he seethed* Damnit woman, I'm your Captain! You can't just jump ship when it conveniences you. As my first mate you're suppose to stay at my side, not scuttle off into the cracks and leave me to fend for myself. Damn, female! *hisses* See this is why I can't let you out of my sight, you get hair brain schemes of family and babies and push them onto me! All my girls are their own captain now, they do as they please and better they do, than bother me! Heck! I did my best not to be around them while they were suckling their mothers teat so cut me a little slack here. *flops down moping* Can not a captain miss his former first mate? *glares through his hair at her*
Fay: I've never had any schemes nor thrust them on you, not that you'd have noticed even if I had! Female I may be but it's hardly been a detriment to you, I've always done well by you and you expect me to act like a jealous doe and save you from your lusty pursuits? No thank you, I'd rather leave on my own than have you cast me out for an attempted good deed! *frowns and steps over to him* Don't mope it really doesn't do you any good you know and I won't come back for pretty words. *tugs a lock of his hair* Look at this scraggly mess it's a wonder you haven't blindly tumbled into a hole.
Essex: *Huffs* I thought you didn't care what happens to me. I'm sure tumbling into a hole one or two or three... actually about 15 times this week... but who's counting. *snorts looking away to hide behind said scruff of hair* I won't let anyone cut it ...just you. *mutters to himself a moment then looks up* Well off with ya then! If you're so eager to be rid of me, get! I'll manage somehow, find a first mate that won't abandon her duties just cause she let another wench slip through her defenses to lay siege to her captain. *nods sagely*
Fay: *scowls at him* You'll end up twisting your leg and then you really will be useless. *startled by his dismissal* Rid of you?! I...I...Ugh! You are impossible, if I stayed you would say I was jealous, if I go you'll say I'm abandoning you...and it's obvious you need me. Aren't you worried about your pretty doe taking a piece out of your hide for trying to use me as a line of defense? *draws out her cutlass to swipe off a little sliver of his unruly hair so he can see*
Essex: *Staring serious from beneath the hair she cuts* Ah there she is! I was beginning to wonder if the fearless Fay even existed anymore. *shakes his head to draw more hair over his eyes.* I'm not worried about that "pretty doe" you keep referring to. I'm worried about you, besides she's family now, can't change that but so are you. And here you're talkin' bout running off on your own to some unknown place on a raft? *snorts* And they say I'm the dimwitted one. Shouldn't you get a crew together or at least a first mate since you're so damn determined to become a captain? *peeks from under his hair*
Fay: *slides her cutlass away and stamps her hoof* I am not becoming a captain! Besides the idea isn't dimwitted it's called determination, and I am determined to return to the beaches and see if I can find a proper crew there. You know building a full vessel would take a herd, and that is a luxury I don't have, so a one herla raft will have to suffice and there isn't room on a raft for more than one or two and few supplies for the journey.
Essex: *Sighs in exasperation* You call it tomato I call it dimwitted... *snorts* Whatever the case, I'll be escorting you to the other side then. You said this contraption can only hold one or two, well counting me, there's two. And I can get us some supplies. *Is inviting himself*
Fay: If you escort me how do you plan on getting back Captain? *raises a brow and then flicks her hair back* Besides last time we sailed we crashed here and have been stranded since, maybe your a bad omen. *smirks*
Essex: *Snorts* Details, details... must you always dwell on the past? *Stretches out and yawns with boredom* Should I get the supplies or not? *Probably going to get them anyway*
Fay: It IS an important detail you know...*eyes him and frowns* I don't understand why you want to come along, but...very well Captain, if you think yourself capable of obtaining supplies be my guest. *slowly smiles*
Essex: *Nods slowly and gets up to his full height* Details I care not to dwell on mind you. *He saunters off stopping briefly* As your Captain it's my duty to see you safely to your destination. Simple enough wouldn't you say? Besides not everyone gives up when the odds are against them. *Goes in search of supplies*
