((In response to THIS SIGNUP. )) Gale Gentry. He never met this hunter before, and he was confused if it was a boy for a girl. He was going for a girl, and he decided that it would probably make her day if she had a secret admirer, though he felt rather ridiculous having to give her a rose. Still, girls were easier to give these things to then guys. They gave less raised eyebrows, even if he stated he was just delivering this for someone else.
He missed fixing that copy machine compared to this task.
Finding the dorm was impossible because he found that Gale did not live in the dormitory at all. Instead, he had to walk into town, and find one of the few actual hole and painted houses around. Walking up the front porch, he gave a knock.
*Edited to reflect that Gale lives in a house.

Someone was knocking on his door, and Gale was slightly less-than-prepared for it.
In the middle of attempting to fix the stuck window in the kitchen, he could be found sitting on the counter top, one foot bracing against the sink, his hair falling into his face as he pulled at the window frame.
It refused to move. Gale scowled.
<< Go answer the door >> remarked Jinhai lightly. << And be nice. >>
Rolling his eyes, Gale slid his legs over the side of the counter and leapt nimbly down onto the tile floor. Pulling his hair back with a small clip so that it was at least out of his eyes again, he made his way back out towards the front hallway and unlocked the front door, pulling it open -
- and found himself staring at someone he'd never seen before.
"Er," he said, blinking up at him. "Can I help you?"
(( Just so you know, Gale actually lives in a teeny little house in the Town, not in the dorm buildings. xD <3 ))

Seeing Gale did not help Melvin in the least determine if he was a man or a woman. In fact, considering how young she looked in the face coupled by the fact she wasn't exactly tall, she came off as looking more like a teenager. The hairclip did not help matters, and Melvin decided, to the best of his reasoning, that Gale was a girl.
"Hello." At least Gale answered the door better than most people who more or less looked like they wanted to strangle him than give him a proper greeting. "Are you Gale Gentry?"

Confused Gale was confused.
"Er," he said, staring blankly at the figure in front of him, brain working to try and figure out who he was and what he was doing here. Perhaps he was a tech of sorts, or maybe a new trainee?
"Yes, that's me," he said slowly, opening the door further and leaning against it cautiously, arms folded across his chest

Melvin reached into the tube, taking out a rose for the girl and holding it out for her. "I'm sent to deliver this to you. I guess you have a secret admirer." He sighed, more troubled by the fact he had to deliver this than being envious in any way. Why roses? Why couldn't Lance told him to deliver laced letters or paychecks instead?

Gale blinked.
"Er," he said, not reaching out to take the rose, but instead staring at it as though he couldn't quite believe it was there. "A...secret admirer..? Me?"
There was a long pause.
"I think you have the wrong person."

Melvin gave him a flat look. "Yeah, cause I love walking all the way here to deliver roses for the fun of it." He looked at his clipboard. "Gale Gentry. You said that is your name. I have the right person than." He tucked the clipboard to his side along with the metal tube, still holding out the flower.
"Seems someone likes you." Woopie. Why didn't more girls get giddy over this thing. He thought most women loved getting flowers. "Can you please take this?" He said, tilting the rose and waiting.

The blank stare turned into a scowl.
"Gale Gentry's my name, yes, but considering I'm the youngest hunter on the island - with the exception of maybe Ennea who is currently not around, and everyone within a few years of me in age is either a bloke or taken, I'm not exactly inclined to believe that someone likes me. Unless you mean in the platonic sense, in which case I still find it a tad suspicious."
He frowned a little. "Who are you, anyway?"

"Maybe someone older likes you. Some people are like that. Who knows. Maybe they just think you are cute like a little sister. I don't know why. I just hand off the roses." He really didn't like questions. It was a rose. Be happy. It was free.
At the question, he sighed. "Melvin Wood. Life trainee. New guy that gets stuck sending off roses. Again, can you take this before people think I'm hitting on you?"

Dead silence.
"Little sister?" repeated Gale, in an incredulous tone. Inside of his head, he could hear Jinhai snorting with laughter, though the dragon was trying (and failing) to muffle it. He uncurled his arms from across his chest and glowered.
"Here's a hit for you, Melvin Wood, Life trainee. My name is Gale Gentry, Death Division Hunter. And I am, and have always been, male."

"Oh.." Saliva was laughing, and he just continued to stare at Gale, tempted to ask if he was sure of that fact.
Instead, he just kept holding out the rose. "Can you take this?" Yeah, there really wasn't anything you could say when you mistook someone's gender. The clip wasn't helping his case though.

Gale was now thoroughly disgruntled.
"Why should I?" he grumbled, but he reached out and took it anyway, if only to get this Melvin Wood, Life trainee to go away.

"Because it's from YOUR secret admirer, not mine, and I don't want it." He told him, marking Gale's name off the list and breathing out. Almost done.
"Enjoy your rose. Sorry for the whole..." Melvin gestured vaguely at all of Gale. "..sister thing. You really shouldn't wear hair clips though." He then started to head down the steps.

Melvin would receive one of Gale's infamous glowers.
"I wouldn't go around assuming things. You know what they say about people who assume, don't you?"

"Ohh. I've met plenty of assholes already. I think I'd fit right in." He said, not even bothering to turn around and wave. "You're welcome, by the way." To which he went down the steps to Gale's porch and headed down the walk.
