They were off. They were off! THEY WERE OFF!
The mare felt like prancing about like a filly, eyes shinning with excitement. A happy whinny escaped between her teeth as she followed the small, grey usdia. Adventure was hers, for the first time since she was a little foal. On reflection, it was a bit strange that she hadn't left her birth place even briefly for the past year. But it was important for her to stay here, what if Blair, her father, returned? A faint twinge of guilt flashed through her, but she'd already convinced herself that this escapade would happen. There was no turning back now.
She couldn't wait. Her legs trembled, half with nerves and half with sheer excitement. She ruffled her wings as she walked. Had her companion been a flyer too, she'd be off racing through the sky in the wink of an eye. Her tail thrashed behind her, snapping through the air so quickly you could hear it. It put her slightly off balance as she sauntered along, but she didn't care. She was ecstatic, this was the best she'd felt in months.
"Where can we go?"
