Nickname: Zach, Buttface, Weasel, Womanizer (oh)
Age: 16
Birthday: February 2nd
Sign: Aquarius
Gemstone: Amethyst
Blood Type: Badass (Type AB)
Fav. Food: Pizza, pastas, sausage and all sorts of other delicious, delicious Italian things. Also JOLLY BURGERS.
Hated Food: Green stuff. Food isn't meant to be green! Green is gross unless it's garnish or something!
School: Meadowview High School
Hobbies: Mr. Handy - As a very hands-on kind of person, Zach loves to create things, especially if they end up being useful. It started out as playing with Tinker Toys and other small building-block type toys and has blossomed into a love of wood and metalworking. He moved from toys to the campground favorite of building birdhouses. From there, his interests brought him into shop class at high school where he learned to make stools and small tables. In his spare time, he's set up a space in the garage with a power saw he borrows from the neighbors to either fix something in the house or make replacements if something can't be fixed. Granted, he doesn't have the skill or the materials to make anything particularly fancy or complex, but they're functional, minimalist pieces. Currently his big project is a table big enough to comfortably seat six!
Punkcessorizing - Zachary likes the "edgier" styles in a stereotypical sort of way. He likes belts, chains, checkers, studs, that sort of thing. He hasn't yet delved into the whole mohawk hairstyle but he thinks it's pretty rad. Zach's not interested in the lifestyle, just more of the clothing. Whether that makes him a poseur is really up to debate. If the clothing he already owns isn't "punk" enough for his tastes, Zach goes out of his way to make it so - sewing odds and ends, adding belts, pins or studs to it, fraying and edge or two and making it his own. Typically he doesn't like things straight off the rack, he has to modify it to fit his tastes first!
Screen-printing - One day, Zach hopes to either be a fashion designer or create his own clothing line. To that end, he's taken up screenprinting. It started as a introductory/exploratory summer school course before his freshman year at Meadowview and the interested gathered from there. Zach has a small screen-printing setup in the garage with fabric paints, silk screens and the necessary accessories. So far, he's only designed small logos and patterns to add to existing shirts for friends and family but he hopes to one day get good enough with a computer to do a lot of his designing digitally and open a local clothing line from there.
Virtues:
- Genuine - Despite his flaws, with Zachary, you get exactly what's on the label. He does his best not to misrepresent himself in any way and for all his ups and downs, he simply is who he is. Zach isn't deceptive or looking for an ulterior motive. If he does wrong, he'll admit to it and accept the punishment. He's unabashedly himself, regardless of the situation, even if it means Zach gets into trouble or becomes a thorn in someone's side. He'd much rather be true to himself and who he knows he is than to change himself to please someone else.
Hero-at-Heart - Deep down, Zach wants to be someone's knight in shining armor and to rescue the princess from the evil sorcerer and ride off into the sunset with a happily-ever-after ending. It's a little embarrassing but he gets a real thrill out of saving someone or something, even if it's a cat out of a tree. In mundane situations, helping someone out by carrying groceries or leading an elderly woman across the street counts as being a hero in his eyes. Zach's even stood up to a bully at school and gotten injured for his trouble, but to Zach, it was worth it. You don't need to save the world to be a hero.
Trustworthy - As much as he mouths off, Zach will not spill your secrets if you trust them with him. He's trusted secrets to "friends" before and had it severely backfire on him in the form of his once-secret crush never wanting anything to do with him ever again. Zach knows how awful and crushing it is to be betrayed by people you thought you could trust and he is determined never to make anyone else feel that way. So Zach strives not to lie about anything, to keep his promises to the best of his ability and to always do what he says he's going to do. If he died right now, Zach would want his tombstone to read, "Dependable and Honest" (and Handsome, but that's a whole other ball of wax.)
Flaws:
- Competitive - Zach's competitive spirit has gotten him into trouble more often than not. Sure, he'll set himself up as a rival to someone else in his class when it comes to test scores and that ends up working to his benefit (pushing him to get better grades) but he usually gets far too caught up in up in things. Sports should be played without worrying about winning or losing, but Zach hates losing and will get angry or frustrated if he's on the losing team, taking this out on his teammates. He's lost friends this way. He also competes with his sister despite the fact that they have completely different paths in life - if she does something, he has to do it five times better and will actively work to achieve this. He's also concerned when it comes to ladies - if he has his eye on a girl and someone else is vying for her attention, Zach will get right in there and wage war if he has to - he has to win.
Gullible - Zach likes to believe that there's goodness in all people and takes what people say as truth. He doesn't like to think of others as liars or cheats and it's backfired on him a few times. If someone presents something as concrete fact, Zach will be inclined to believe them and may be horrified at finding out the truth at a later date. Someone he believes to be a friend may turn out to be using him for money or the like and Zach would be totally heartbroken, unsure of what to do or how to cope. Pain and betrayal hasn't hardened his heart... yet... and his naive, wide eyes will continue to get him into trouble until he learns not to blindly trust people.
Reckless - If someone's in trouble and in desperate need of help, Zach has and will drop everything he's doing to assist in some way without stopping to think about how this should be done or what sort of consequences could arise from his actions. He would be one of the first onto the battlefield despite a severe power disadvantage, believing good always wins in the end and the knight never dies to the dragon. In mundane life, he's fallen from trees and broken bones in an attempt to win a tree-climbing contest, and taken a shortcut through Destiny City's seedier parts of town just to get home in time instead of calling ahead and taking the bus. Zach generally doesn't look before he leaps, having much faith in his luck and abilities.
