The stomach full of scotch and head full of bad ideas powered Jerry forward. In his head, it played out well. He'd be there just in time to stop H from getting his fingers on Sasha, stop a disaster before it could happen, and hopefully salvage the situation.

How this would actually help matters, he hadn't quite worked out yet but it FELT right, it FELT like what he needed to do, and so clinging to these flimsy rationalities, he wobbled, hobbled and kicked his way into H's office door."YOU STOP RIGHT-IGHT NOW!!"

While it wouldn't be entirely out of the ordinary for Jerry to have disrupted H in some sort of lewd sexual act, the hunter's timing proved to be less than dramatically ideal for his passionately enraged mind. Dwight stared at him, eyes wide, hands in the middle of gesturing over a set of schematics draped over the doctor's desk. Edith, always quick to act, had her weapon summoned and ready, her expression coldly set.

Eyebrows raised, the doctor drawled, leaning against his desk, "Well, I was starting to feel that this meeting had gone a little long, really." He caught Dwight's eye as the younger man appeared to be trying to edge away, showing a rather decent sense of self-preservation. "The prototype needs further testing, I would suggest modifying one or two of the training areas. Would that suit you, Ms. Carr?"

Mouth tightening, she gave Jerry a warning squint and then nodded, "As long as your not sending it out on the field as it is. My people aren't guinea pigs."

"Unless they get offered a nice bonus, of course."

This time it was the doctor who got the squinty glare before the Moon leader briskly exited the office. As she passed Jerry, she paused and inhaled sharply. Another glare. Following after her, Dwight's look was more speculative. The betting pools would likely get interesting today.

And then it was just Jerry and the doctor inside the office. Perching on top of his desk, the doctor looked at him with an expectant smile. On his bookcase a dove cooed softly in the background.

The moment the other two Hunters had passed by, there was a sudden barking blast and a horrified squawk.

The good news was the dove now had a lovely new window to peer out at and ponder flight.

The bad news was H now had a sizable hole in his wall.

As the dust settled, Jerry's face was white, and his weapon desummoned in an instant from his trembling hands in a burst of green and he was sent swaggering uneasily from the sudden shift in weight.

"Sorry!" He managed.

The doctor smiled pleasantly at Jerry, "Yes, you are indeed, quite sorry. No, don't worry, I've heard so much about your hmm...loose cannon, that I am thoroughly unsurprised at your ah...hair trigger, Jerry."

Jerry's face had gone green, but as H's words sank in, his expression contorted clumsily into an enraged scowl, "N-now you... you... you s-see here-ee here!" He wobbled, trying to remember why he had barged in there to begin with, aside from the instantly percolating hatred. Maybe that's what H stood for. "Harold. I'm s-sick of... of your-" He wobbled towards the desk, gesticulating angrily as he tried to grasp at the thoughts that couldn't quite pull themselves together, "That thing you are!" He swallowed, straightening after some difficulty with his feet, wagging a finger at him angrily, "When she said-ee said that she was gonna-onna well well ******** you both! AWOOOOO!" and he promptly crumpled over the trashcan with a heave.

"Oh, I haven't been a Harold in quite some time, Jerry." Leaning back on his elbows, the doctor offered a few suggestions as to that thing that he was, "Charming? Intelligent? Benevolent? Honest? Snappy dresser? Yes? No?"

The rest definitely perked his interest though, "She who? And both? If I'm the last to know that I've been invited to a ménage à trois, I will be extremely...pleased, in all honesty...oh do at least try to aim this time Jerry. I happen to like this rug."

Jerry took a moment to catch his breath and offer H the finger.

As his insides sorted themselves out vs. alcoholic content, he had a few moments to try to think.

So Sasha hadn't come here directly... It wasn't until he was swaying over the ornate carpet that he wasn't quite sure what he had hoped to accomplish, really.

Good ******** job, Roar, meanwhile, had given up about ten minutes previously.

He shuddered back to reality at H's enthusiastic offer. "Had a.... had a fight..." He mumbled, gripping the desk to haul himself at least a little bit upright and save what dignity he had left.

In his head, Roar snorted.

"Couldn't help... assumptions and..."

Back to the trash can for a moment, but at least that seemed to be the end of it.

He hadn't been this drunk in a long time. Even with the fear shield, his tolerance had slipped.

"Hell."

Rolling onto his stomach, H rested his chin in his hands and watched Jerry in bemusement. He would look ridiculous, but Jerry had that magic ability of making everyone else in the room look reasonable by comparison. It was an ability the doctor cherished in the other man. "Oh, a fight. It must have been terrible to have sent you, once again, down the road of property damage and..." he inhaled and made a small face, "...cheap whiskey."

"With... with Sasha," He clarified uneasily once he had caught his breath. In and out. Jerry place. The room was still swimming as he leaned back against the side of the desk. His hand shot up to suddenly grab the collar of H's shirt at the edge of the desk, hauling himself up until they were practically nose to nose. "If... if you ever touch her I swear on my grandmother's grave..." Despite his general state of disarray and embarrassing smell, the fire curling in the back of his eyes behind his crooked glasses was deadly serious, his voice hoarse but steady. "I'll blast you so full of holes they'll need shovels to clean you up."

Lips curling in a cheshire smile, the doctor allowed the younger man to threaten him and tug him closer, until suddenly the doctor completed the motion, gripping Jerry's face with both hands and pulling him into a deep, laughing kiss. "Oh Jerry...Jerry...you magnificent mess of a human being."

Letting go, H sat up and hopped off the desk, moving toward his cabinets to pull down a bottle and two glasses, "Really, I'm so very glad you've lasted this long, as you never fail to entertain and my god, you taste awful," he quickly threw back a shot, gargling slightly as it went down. "Now, do tell me what you've done now, or failed to accomplish, to send Sasha flying into my undoubtedly nefarious embrace."

Jerry was frozen in place at the edge of the desk, his eyes wide and round as he tried to comprehend what had just happened. When there was a clink of glass, his eyes drifted over to the bottle before he wobbled and sagged into one of the desk chairs, expression still locked in shock.

"I... we.... she... you just..." There was nothing left to be sick with, and so he simply sat in a stunned silence.

The question waded around in what remained of his braincells before the pent up emotion of the evening rose to his chest and his eyes watered. In a weak voice he managed, "Love her?"

Perching on his desk, drink in hand, the doctor beamed at the sad figure before him, "Ohhhh love? Hmmm...yes, that would be quite problematic, given circumstances." Leaning forward a bit, eyebrows raised, he continued, "So tell me about her, this Sasha that you love enough to send you here, weapon drawn."

Jerry stared at the second, empty glass that still sat invitingly on the table, his brows knit. What had happened? A moment ago h was a ball of rage. Now H was prompting him to spill his woes.

"It... sh-she... nothing," He managed breathily. "Just... just a fight. Everything's fine." He set his jaw, glancing to the door, "Just... just peachy."

"Oh Jerry...Jerry, Jerry, Jerry..." the doctor shook his head and tsked. "Nothing is ever just a fight with you. Once you truly react to friction you can't help but escalate it to a disastrous degree." The doctor was still smiling in encouragement, "I find it quite charming, really. Despite the ah...damage to my office."

The smile grew teeth.

"So quit ******** around, dear boy, and tell me about this woman you love, hm?"

"I'm... I'm woo... worried about her. And she hates me because I'm worried about her," He mumbled, shifting uneasily in his chair. Was this helping matters? He wasn't sure. Things felt clearer when he had just been drinking with Rep.

Perhaps that was a bad sign.
