This was the spot. Petit was sure of it. Nox had described it perfectly, too. A small clearing beyond the edge of trees outside their pasture, with tall grass and beautiful bushes of blooming flowers. Petit instantly recognized roses there, pink and yellow and vibrant red, with a patch of both daisies and daffodils close by. This was it!
...so where was Nox?
Petit took short, bouncing steps across the taller grass and craned his head this way.. then that way... then back again to survey the area. Nox had promised they'd play hide-and-seek here (and the spot was ideal for it too!), but Petit was there... and his half-brother Nox was not.
"Hrmph." Probably another one of Nox' tricks. Send little trusting Petit off to get lost in the woods under the veil of a game of hide-and-seek. Typical, really.
But it didn't seem to bother Petit in the slightest, though! There were pretty flowers to smell -- and that is exactly what he did. Wriggling his little rabbit tail, Petit dipped his head and inhaled deeply, with his face all but buried in the pink rose bush. It smelled heavenly and that was enough to subside any lingering feelings of annoyance towards Nox and his silly tricks.

Aidan had been gathering flowers and looking for pretty stones when he heard someone prancing around in the clearing. Scooping up his gathered flowers he heads off around the bushes to see who'd come. The image that greets him is a pony's backside, the pony had his or her head buried in flowers.
Setting his flowers down, Aidan approaches the pony. "Hello." He says, coming up on the other's side. "They smell wonderful, don't they? A smell befitting their beauty."

That was unexpected! Jumping with a startled whinny, Petit whirled his head back and sideways to peer at the other pony that spoke up. He was a bit wide-eyed and he did, indeed, stare rather hard at the pink-maned pony... but for juuuust long enough to collect himself again.
"Hello," he replied, repeating the greeting in a slightly strained but nevertheless cheerful tone of voice. "They do! They're beautiful."
This stallion was one Petit had not seen before. Certainly not from his home pasture, or from Elycion Glades where some of his more familiar siblings lived. Petit would have noticed him before, surely, if he'd seen this pony before!
"Are those wings?" he asked, once his startled veneer had subsided. It was a curious question, queried in a tone of almost... wonder. Petit's head cocked a bit, to one side, as he inched backwards a little to stand more closely to the pink-haired pony. "They look like hearts!" And then he beamed, wide and amused, as he inched just a fraction of an inch closer, with his muzzle tipped to peer at the other pony's side. You know, to investigate. "Are you cupid?"

Aidan grinned at the other pony and gently head butted him. "I'm not Cupid but they are wings." He flutters them a bit, backing up enough to make a few slow spins and show them off. "They are a bit small but I can fly for short distances."
