Is anyone else of fan of the man and his works? His official website can be found here if you are interested.

I have been a fan of Clive Barker's for almost ten years now, I think. I remember that I used to steer away from his books because I had a misconception about the type of writer he was. However, I came across a paperback copy of Weaveworld at a reduced price book sale in the middle of the mall one day. I thought to myself that I would give him a try, especially since the cover looked intriguing (oh how I despise judging a book by its cover). After I read it, I was thirsting for more and Imajica, my second, made me fall in love with the man. I haven't read everything of his, but I have completed a good bit of it. I figure that I would give Abarat another try even though I felt disappointed reading the first few chapters when it originally came out. I kind of miss the detailed and length descriptions, but they're not so much to make it boring. Don't go saying that I only like lengthy works because I adored his children's book The Thief of Always.

I've only ever read the Abarat books, and I loved them. And he can paint too!

I had the Abarat books for weeks, but they just sat on the shelf. I did open the cover... once. sweatdrop Alas, I guess I can't really bring myself to attempt to read that book again. So I took them back to the public library. With all the homework I'll have over the next few months, there won't be time for such extracurricular activities...

There is a painting of his that I would like to see again.

I read the Abarat books first. I thought it was a very interesting story. I do admire his paintings. Normally I despise pictures inside books because I want to imagine the characters but somehow I think the book wouldn't have the write feel without it. I'm planning on reading another one of his books as soon as my mom wakes so I can ask to borrow it.

If you don't mind explicit sex scenes, I would recommend trying Imajica.

I've only read the first two of The Books of Abarat so far, but I'm going to read more of his books from the library. I think he's a wonderful writer.

I'm actually reading the second book of Abarat right now and I'm really enoying it so far...and...Lord his paintings are amazing....they're so different...that's another reason why I love Abarat so much...because I'm an artist.

I haven't read any other of his pieces but I really want to because I've previewed a couple and they sounded very good.
