High in a tree, a dark shape was slouched over a tree branch. The fluffy tail hung low, waving in the breeze that was also ruffling the long hair on top of the leopard's head.
Brunhilde had just eaten and was enjoying a little bit of peace to herself. The remains of her meal were scattered on the branch before her and on the ground where the bones had fallen off the tree. A few shreds of meat still clung to it, drawing the attention of scavengers. Vultures circled overhead, unsure of whether to land for a bite to eat with the leopard so close. Brun opened one eye to glance up lazily before closing them, again. Far as she was concerned, she didn't care if the birds swooped down for the carcass. So long as they didn't disturb her.
After a few moments, the birds could obviously take it no longer. Circling closer, the first one dropped to the ground to pick at the remaining meat, dragging a leg bone around with it as it tried to shake the desired meal off it. Above, the leopard stretched her front legs out, knocking the rest of the carcass down to the ground for the birds to squawk over and hopefully not bother her.
The tree remains landed close to the bird with the leg bone, causing it to jump in fright and let go of the bone. It looked up at Brun lazing about in the sun and rose to her level. When she paid it no attention, it swooped on her, pecking her in anger of the interruption. The leopard let out a loud growl of surprise and equal irritation, jumping down from the tree with the bird in pursuit a few steps until it remembered the meal behind it.
