Alehandra was happy for the easy day she was having. Normally it wasn't the case, but today? She didn't have a whole lot to accomplish. She had heard of the scandal that was going around them. She had heard of Ruzanski, and his knocking up of the Warlord's daughter. She had to give him props, that was pretty brave of him. But she had tried not to involve herself in such gossip. She didn't want to be known as a Gossiper after all. But that didn't mean she didn't enjoy listening to it from the other Freeborn, and Thralls she managed to overhear.

She was sprawled out on a rather large stone, stretching her paws as far as she could manage. Her claws extended and dangerous. Since her arrival here, her muscles had been toned in the ways she was rather proud of. She looked strong, and she was glad to know it would keep others from picking on her.. Or at least deter them, if they felt so inclined.

"You don't know what you are talking about." The juvenile said, her eyes rolling at her friend. She had never gone anywhere without Canicah lately. She found it was rather easy to take advantage of Canicah if she felt the need.. But for the most part, she really did just consider her a well meaning friend. She knew in time her friend would be strong too, and then she would probably get back all the backlash she gave to her.

"There is no such thing as sea dragons. I don't know why you'd believe in such things." She frowned, and narrowed her eyes. Sometimes she thought her companion stupid, but she knew better than that. The cub was inexperienced, but she was far from stupid.

The cub frowned, her eyes going towards her paws. She hated when she was told she was wrong. Hated it! She hated to be wrong, though it seemed the more she hung around Finna, the more wrong she seemed to be. She wondered why that was.. It never crossed her mind that Finna could be wrong. Finna was bigger, and prettier, (or at least to her!). Finna was what Cani aspired to be. Strong, beautiful, brave, and tough. Though she knew that with her mother, all that would come in due time. Her mother was amazing, and .. powerful. She could see it in her eyes when she looked at her in the evenings. Raw power that was held back by respect. Cani wanted to be just like her.

"Well I heard about it! I heard they take over the oceans and seas, and make it treacherous for anyone around the land around it!" She said, her eyes widening. She was hoping she was teaching her friend something, though the glare she got from Finna just made her feel a little more defeated.

"If that was the case, then there would be no such thing as Pirates.." Finna said, looking at her friend, exhasperated. Sometimes hanging around a much younger lion, could be so trying. It was hard to reign in her irritation. But then again, Finna still had a juvenile's temper too. She was a very 'do it my way' sort of girl. Being in the family she had come from didn't help, either.

"And then, who would be left to tell the story? So you see, Cani, that there is no way sea monsters actually exist."

The two girls didn't realize they were wandering close to the lazying Reaver. In fact, they wouldn't have much cared had they known. They were happy to just go about their way. But Alehandra smiled as she heard the debate. She liked cubs, regardless of her inexperience in handling them. They were innocent, or rather, they had no true motive. So when she heard the two little voices, she knew she had to make herself known.

"Now why on earth would a sea monster kill everyone, if he wanted the story to exist in the first place?" She asked, arching her own eyebrow and looking down at them from her rock. Her belly splayed out against the rock, she was comfortable, and laid back. No reason for them to be afraid of her actions whatsoever. Not that they would have been.

Finna and Canicah both whipped their heads around in surprise. Though once Finna realized that it was someone contradicting her, her face took on the look of irritation.

"What do you know?" She asked with a roll of her eyes. In a very childlike immature fashion. She didn't know this lioness, but she did know she didn't like others butting into her conversation.

"I've got more years on you, young one. I think that my word would be more believable." She smiled. She wasn't perturbed at all by the little girl's words. They were after all, just that. Words. And Alehandra wasn't the type to let a little girl get to her either. No one besides herself, knew of her pirate past.. and she had heard her own stories about sea monsters.

"I don't care how old and crusty you are!" Finna said, her voice rising a little. Cani believed what she said, and the fact that this lioness was disrespecting her rather upset her.
"I know what I'm talking about. And Canicah believes me, and not you." She said with a huff. She raised her nose to the air, looking ever like a snob. Finna was starting to realize she couldn't wait to be an adult.. If only just to put lionesses like this in their place.

"Tell me, small one, how many times have you adventured in the rogue lands? Seen that wide open ocean's waves, and smelled the salty sea air?" She rose from her rock position, leaping down so that she was in front of the girls. Canicah took a step back, growling a little in her throat, though Finna held her ground.
"If your answer is never, which I happen to believe is the case.. Then I'd say you don't -really- know what you are talking about after all. Right? And spreading lies, well.. That's no better than making up stories of sea monsters." She said, using her wisdom that she wasnt sure would actually get through to the cubs.

"I was born long after we left our seashore home! Of course I've never been there. But my grandfather has. And I promise you he tells me his stories. I don't have to have stepped foot outside my home. I don't care who you are, or what you think either." Finna snapped at the female. Her words were rather poisonous, and she felt like a viper. It made her feel good.

Canicah gulped, and looked at Finna, before casting her gaze back at the teal eyed older lioness. "So.. have you seen them? Are they really real?" She asked, childlike innocence still playing in the face of the cub. She was obviously still pure in her thoughts. Alehandra wondered exactly how long it would take before she was like her friend. Uncaring of anyone but themselves..

Aleh lowered her head, looking at the cub on a more friendly level. She could see the wonder playing behind the small cubs eyes. The cub that had been called Cani, looked at her as if she wanted to trust her, and Aleh's heart fluttered for a moment.

"Oh yes. I have seen big and monstrous sea monsters in my time. All with sharp pointed fangs. And some smelled really, really badly." She grinned. She was talking about her Pirate counterparts, but there was no reason for the cub to know that. For now, she could continue on believing in the things that made life interesting.

Canicah smiled, her paws stamping in place as she couldn't contain herself. She had been right! Oh she had been right, and that was a blissful feeling. She didn't want to rub it in Finna's fur, because.. well.. that almost always ended badly when it came to Finna. Cani didn't feel like being lunged at, anyway.

"Oh I knew it! There just had to be things like that out there. Otherwise there's no mystery!" She grinned. She couldn't wait to go home and tell momma. She wasn't sure if momma would much believe her, but that didn't matter. She knew it was true now! From a first hand Reaver!

"Thank you, for helping!" She said, and then looked at Finna who was staring daggers at her. Canicah chomped down, keeping herself from saying anything else.

"You are very welcome, little duck." She said with a pat on the cub's head. She hoped that Canicah stayed as open of mind as she was now. She really did hope for the future, that stories of lore wouldn't be discontinued for lack of facts.

Finna pushed past Alehandra, casting one final glance to Cani.
"If you are coming, let's go." She commanded, completely ignoring Alehandra. She turned her head, and continued on.
The little red cub smiled once more at Aleh, before bolting off after her friend. She knew the rest of the way home was going to be a b***h-fest about the lioness.. But she didn't care. Because she was right.
