It was his first solo patrol, and one Lt. Natron was eager to prove himself as a member of the Negaverse. He was on the lookout for civilians to drain, of course, but more importantly he was looking for Order-aligned auras, because he wanted to go toe to toe with one of those damned space invaders. He was starting to feel a little bad for draining random civilians, admittedly, as well.

But he was doing it to ensure they stayed protected form a menace they could never even know about!

When he felt a blip on his mental radar, specifically an Order-aligned blip, the Lieutenant headed off in that direction. He needed to get into a real fight. Heck, maybe he could even go back to Painite and tell her he'd beat some Senshi into the ground! That would be something his General could be proud of, right?

Troy Page had no good reason to be in his powered form. He was just coming home from a disappointing night out (clearly disappointing - he was coming home alone and sober, after all) and figured that he should waste no time. Powered up he could run faster, jump higher, and have more energy to quickly get around the city with. Of course, it also came with the consequence of attracting unwanted attention from Chaos agents, but he never thought much about that...or much about anything, truly.

"s**t," he groaned when he detected the chaotic power signal. He leapt down from a rooftop to an empty street and waited around for whatever the signal was to either approach him or pass by.

Lt. Natron was trying to feel more brave than he was. Hey, as long as he was powered up, he was stronger and tougher, right? So he had absolutely nothing to be afraid of.

He ran towards the Order aura, enjoying actually feeling something like tough for once. He was used to being the one shoved in lockers, so power was not something he had often. He clung to it.

Once he was in range, he dropped into the street, where he could make out the outline of someone male, and his aura sensor said that this was, indeed, the signal he had been tracking. "Hey, alien scum!" That was one way to get someone's attention.

"Whaaaaaa?" Troy turned to the voice with the look of total confusion. "Where? Oh? Me? I ain't no ********' alien...ya a*****e!" The space in his skull did that thinking-thing until he remembered that it had been about a year since he first met the Senshi and thought they were aliens. Now it looked like others thought he was the alien! But if he could come around, maybe this guy could too.

"I'm not an alien, I'm from 'bama," he explained, scratching the back of his head. Being persuasive was really difficult. "Like, I was born and raised on Earth all my life, not up in space or nothin'. Why the hell do you think I'm one of them aliens?"

Lt. Natron glared rather harshly at the person in front of him. "Don't try to trick me! You feel all...off! You're one of them, and I know it!" At least he was very dedicated in his convictions.

"I don't think you're one, I know you're one. General Painite told me all I need to know about you White Mooners. You're from outer space and you're here to take over our planet and I'm not going to let you." And then he decided that talking wasn't going to get him anywhere, and he pegged his dodgeball at his opponent.

That was clearly the best solution.

Seriously?

Troy caught the dodge ball and pegged it back at the skinny punk's face.

Dumbass.

Yeah okay getting his own weapon thrown back at his face was not part of Natron's plan. Also, clearly this was someone far better at dodgeball than he, and he ended up taking a bit more of a solid hit than he'd dealt out.

That was definitely not something to share with Painite.

Okay, new plan required. He dismissed his weapon back to subspace and ran forward with a yell, arm drawn back to punch. He might not be particularly well-trained in fighting, but he'd been on the receiving end enough that he had a fair idea of how one was thrown.

"You've gotta be ********' kidding me, boy," Troy rolled his eyes as the lieutenant took a swing at him. He rose an arm to block the punch, then thrusted out his elbow to hit the kid in the jugular to wind him. It was probably an unfair match, but he was relieved by that. Too many of his past encounters with Chaos agents have been with Senshi - and that was never fair with their magic and such. Hand-on-hand combat was a drunken Saturday night to him and he had enough muscle to pack a punch.

"Don't ya know not to mess with someone bigger than you?"

Natron had enough sanity left to realize when he was horrifically outmatched. Of course he had to pick the one Order member who was technically on his level power wise, but clearly far physically stronger. The force behind the elbow to the jugular was enough to show him that he was..,well, pretty damn well outmatched.

He was having terrible freshman year flashbacks.

The Lieutenant took several gasping breaths, then made a very sad attempt at a kick. This was getting more and more embarrassing, but he was just not going to admit defeat.

"I've...taken on...people bigger than me before!" His declaration's drama and intensity was reduced by the fact that he was gasping for breath. (Also, in the mentioned encounters, he usually ended up facefirst in a trash can or a toilet bowl.)

The kick landed successfully but did nothing. Well, that wasn't true. It did anger Troy some more as he shoved the boy to push him down to the ground, then pinned him down as he climbed onto him to 'typewriter' the kid. For the brief time that Ricky Cunningham was in high school before his mother pulled him out for the school teaching the sciences, he was a bit of a bully - and this brought him right back to those times. Not that he had any guilt about that. You need to have humility to feel shame or guilt.

"Dear Troy," Troy 'typed' as he poked hard on the lieutenant's chest. Based on the random way that he was poking him, it was clear that he had no idea how t to type, and probably had little idea how to spell either. He then backhanded the lieutenant across the face. "New line! I promise I ain't gonna call nobody an alien for no reason no more." He backhanded the lieutenant again. "Sincerely..." He backhanded the lieutenant again.

"What's your name boy?!" he shouted to him.

Apparently there were some things Gabriel Blake, no matter which identity he donned, was never going to escape. Bullying topped that list.

He was already feeling deep, immense regret for picking this fight. That regret only deepened when he found himself pinned to the asphalt by someone far bigger and used as a human typewriter.

He felt moved to argue his case that he had not, in fact, called the Page an alien for no reason. It had been because of his Order-aligned aura and Order auras meant aliens. But really, he'd clearly already lost this argument. The backhands he was receiving made that especially, humiliatingly clear.

"Natron," he squeaked when his name was demanded. So much for any kind of brave resistance. Oh good lord he was going to be a mass of bruises tomorrow.

Troy nodded when he received the name. He smiled. For a moment, he may have seemed nice and friendly.

Then he backhanded Natron again, ending his typewriter letter. "NATRON!"

"Now say that you ain't gonna call me an alien again," Troy demanded. He then spit onto the lieutenant. "SAY IT, b***h!"

For a brief, flickering moment, Natron had hoped that Troy might just be done with him when the Page smiled.

Of course he wasn't. The last backhand seemed to hurt all the more since he was not as well braced for it.

"I won't call you an alien again!" He whimpered. The Lieutenant fell very easily into the role of "beaten victim." Being called a b***h and spit on? Yeah, this was all feeling very, very familiar.

Some distant part of his brain realized that he was an utter and absolute disgrace to the Negaverse. Really, this was just sad.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 08, 2012 10:04 pm

"Good," Troy loosened up a little bit, but still focused on keeping the lieutenant pinned down. He wasn't quite done with him yet. "And ya understand that we ain't aliens, right? And ya ain't gonna just attack us or throw a ********' ball at someone as if that's gonna do more than get the s**t beaten outta ya, right?"

"We're born here, on this planet just like you, boy," he explained. That much he knew. The whole matter of how space actually did tie into their lives was more confusing. "Now there's like, that we get our strength from space or whatever but I reckon that ain't much different than how you get your strength from whatever them Negaverse fellas hooked you up with. Ya understand all that?"

Troy never thought he'd be an edumicator.

Right about then, Natron was willing to agree to just about anything Troy said in order to get the Page off him and get out of there. It didn't necessarily mean he was internalizing, but he was in full survival mode, and temporarily denying all he held sacred really felt like a fair price.

"I understand, I understand," he said. Understood that he would have to be a lot more careful about who he picked fights with alone. Maybe he should stick to patrolling with other people for a while.

"Born on Earth, okay, okay," he had definitely not expected his further education in this war to come at the hands of someone beating the s**t out of him, but hey. "Yeah, I got that," the Lieutenant acknowledged.

They were totally still alien scum. Bullying alien scum at that.
