"I hate it here on the mortal realm," the goddess complained to her smaller maned wolf as the pair of them padded across the savannah. The wolf simply rolled her eyes to this statement, but Din continued, perhaps more vehemently now. "No, really! How do you stand it, it's so hot. Of course I can stand it, but really, I like being up there where we belong," she said, speaking of other gods and herself. This was a lecture Aki had probably heard a million times, but she listened to it every time. As a mortal herself, the wolf wouldn't be able to see the place in her lifetime, so whenever Din mentioned it, she would pay close attention. Din knew it, though, and didn't feel like humoring her darker little partner. "At any rate- It's nice up there, but boring. Other gods are fun, but heaven help you should you step on someone's toes too hard. Mortals, though, they're good. No risk, all reward." She didn't know why she was feeling talkative today, but what did it really matter?
Wings folded at her side for any to see, she could have been a spectacle to behold. The goddess dwarfed the wolf at her side, who was starting to perk up.Aki was perking up indeed- ears straight forward. Her job mainly with the goddess was as a guard, sentry, or messenger. She was treated with a general apathy, and spoken to in such a way as someone would speak to themself, but generally, she was alright with the arrangement with the darker goddess. It kept life interesting, but more importantly, in return for essentially being a slave, she was given food and shelter. The gig was pretty good, to her mind. "Hey," she barked lightly. "Mortal lion, right over there," she said, turning her head slightly off to the left. "Do you care?" she asked, turning back to the goddess and swishing her tail slightly with boredom. Often Din would turn these up, but often she hoped she wouldn't. Such encounters always proved for the most excitement.Din turned too, spotting the other on the savannah. "Hmmm..." she said quietly as she pondered. "Yes, we care today. Oh, we care soooo much," she said, turning her paws towards the other. Many days Din didn't feel like talking to mortals, but there were plenty of days that she did. The pair of them headed in that direction- the goddess didn't bother to disguise herself as a mortal.

Unlike every other day for longer than she cared to remember, Mau had woken up and known which direction she would travel next. Or rather. She knew where the destination would be but not the path to take. It was fine, though, part of the journey was learning the way and she was certain she'd manage to it out. She always did.
It was during this search for direction that she was found, trotting at a reasonable pace towards the path of the gradually rising sun. It was nearly at the peak of it's arc, a time where Mau would have normally stopped to nap for a few hours beneath some sort of shade to wait out the heat. The lioness was considering just this course of action when she noticed movement from the corner of her eye and turned to see what had made it.
She saw first the small, dark maned wolf trotting along side the largest lion she'd ever seen. Dark colored and with their head held high. She stopped, dust settling about her paws, and waited for them to approach politely - they were obviously headed in her direction. As they drew closer Maudua realized what she had first assumed was a particularly fluffy mane on a male lion were actually- "Wings." Her voice was scarcely louder than a whisper of awe. She'd been told stories when she was just a small cub. Of Gods and Goddesses roaming the very land. The original source of her gift of sight.

The goddess continued forward beyond the point where her wolf had stopped- Aki knew how Din was with mortals, and she personally didn't enjoy partaking in it. After all, Aki was mortal: Din understood. Aki couldn't possibly understand how fun it was to fiddle with her kind. The lioness before them looked tough enough to Din- dark and red. She had a quick thought run through her head, but chased it out. A thought of prides and bloodlines, but it quickly faded.
It was obvious to Din what was generally running through the lioness's head. She'd seen it more times than she could count over her lives. The stranger was awestruck- and this was one of the few things she found endearing about mortals. She loved two things about them- watching them entertain her as they went about their lives, and watching them stare at her as if they were staring at a flying whale. She stopped as she approached and remained on her feet, wings still at her side, eyeing the other for just a moment more before speaking. "Afternoon, mortal," Din said simply, eyes fixed on the lioness before her. She supposed she should introduce herself, considering that the other was amazed, apparently. "I am Gravity- Din-tei," Her voice was flat, but her gaze was expectant.

A Goddess was standing before her, speaking to her, and she was left wordless for a few moments. The dark lioness had enough time to think on how normal the other had sounded, no booming echo or cracking thunder. Just a normal voice. It wasn't what she'd expected at all. She shook out of her thoughts quickly and dipped her head down, trying to decide which would be the proper way to greet a Deity. "I'm Maudua." And then as an after thought, "I'm honored that you would come to greet me."
She couldn't help but wonder 'but why'. Why would the Goddess of Gravity want to speak with her. What did a ruler of gravity do, anyway? It was what kept her four paws firmly on the ground but that was honestly all she could fathom on the subject.Light Atago Tag! Sorry for taking so long.

Come to greet her. That was a funny notion- that Din interacted with any mortals for the sake of the mortal. A nice head-dip though, she appreciated that. "Maudua..." She pondered the name. She actually liked it- a rare thing to say of a mortal from her. "I didn't come here for you, I came for me. From time to time, I like to... keep up with the lives of mortals," she said simply, deciding that "toying with" wasn't a good choice of words- not right off the bat. It was more fun to watch them figure out on their own just what she was always doing.
"So, that's my purpose here- what's new in the mortal realm?" she asked, though she had been down here quite a long time herself- she had a pretty good grasp. "Or at least, with you," she amended. Sometimes the events of a single mortal were more interesting than the current events of all of the prides on the savannah.radiumshine No worries- RL owned me this week until today too. :3

She remained standing, deciding that it would be rude to sit while the Goddess was not, and blinked. Her brow furrowed, a crease forming between them as she regarded Din-tei. If she came for herself then why would she want to know what was new with Mau specifically? She spoke slowly, as though choosing her words before speaking them. "I. Do not quite know, to be honest. I have just been wandering."
She teetered on the brink of saying anything more. In general she didn't speak of the things she saw to anyone, it rarely ever mattered to others. She only saw things involving herself and unless her fate was somehow twisted with that of theirs it was of no importance. But a Goddess was asking and a small part of her wanted to impress the deity. Even if she hadn't come to specifically speak with Mau she still had chosen to in the end. She decided if she was vague it would be alright, it might even cause some intrigue. "I'm waiting to see which direction my path will lead next. It's eluded me for a while but I'm sure eventually I'll know and then I will make my way towards it."

"And not seen anything interesting along the way? How boring," she said, somewhat disappointed in that. Such was a response she would get from many rogues. She could understand, but it was still less than ideal- she had wandered her fair share of days and seen nothing but the same grass and scrub. Occasional herds of prey. Occasional scuffles at the water hole. All of these things insignificant in the grand scheme of things. She supposed all of the dealings with mortals were insignificant compared to all other things, but still...
What she said next, however, piqued her interest, though just a bit. An opportunity to question. "Ah, I see. And how can you be so certain? Time is something not on your side, how long will you wait?" the goddess asked, sitting back on her haunches finally, tail curling lightly to her front paws.

"I guess I've seen some things of interest." But before she could detail the lioness she'd found that made musical sound when she walked or the youngling that had gotten lost in the forest the Goddess continued. Maudua remained on her feet, tail flicking side to side as the question was posed to her, a faint smile curling her features. With Din-tei's interest it was nearly impossible to not be just a bit prideful of her abilities. "I am so certain because time is on my side, in a way."
She finally sat down, her tail sweeping the dusty ground once, twice, before settling, the tip curled in her pleasure at tempting the deity with her secret. "I will wait for as long as it takes, I can be patient."

Din couldn't help but let out a couple of chuckles at Maudua, "Time is never on the side of a mortal," she stated simply. It was a law of nature- they only had so much time. Younger mortals, though, tended to see life differently. As if they had all the time in the world- later to discover just how wrong they were. And oh, how they tended to lament it then. "You seem so certain time is on your side."
But then her thoughts turned back to what the lioness had said before that... "So, you have seen interesting things? Care to divulge?" her second question was less of a suggestion- Din had a tendency to simply command things of mortals. Those beneath her should take orders from her. Whether they saw her like that or not was up to them, but many figured that, as she was a winged lion, they ought to do what she said. She could never be sure, though, that everyone would take her that way.
One way or another... Between her certainty in something so incorrect and her tendency to be vague, Maudua had a precious gem of information- something Din would take interest in, and she wasn't telling. The goddess started to get a hint of that impression.

There were two ways she could take the question, she had a suspicion the Goddess had caught on that she was skirting around something and was trying to get more in that vein. Mau decided to go the more mundane route instead. "A lioness who wore bits of things to make music while she walked." She looked skyward to try and recall more of that conversation but couldn't quite dredge up more than just that. "And another who was lost from her pride in the forest where they live. Really of late that is all of any interest that I've seen. I'm sorry."
Though why she had not Seen a future meeting this great, dark, winged lioness she couldn't fathom. Was it not an important enough encounter in her thread of life to have a vision it? Perhaps an exchange of news was all this meeting would turn out to be.

The tip of the goddess's tail twitched minutely as she listened. A lioness wearing things that clinked. Someone who got lost. These were the mundane occurrences of the mortals that were highlights of their lives. If there was anything more interesting for her, Din was certain she would have to torture it out of Maudua. She didn't feel like divulging. And Din felt too lazy to pester her for it, in this heat. As far as she could see, unless the black lioness could come up with something more quickly, she was through here.
"I see," she responded simply, her expression going back to her normal one of boredom. She rose back to her feet, stretching her legs as she did- preparing to get going again. "Well, not much is going on on the mortal plane, then, I suppose." As usual. She though to herself.radiumshine We can have it finish or keep going, depending on what Maudua does next. :3 Up to you/her! X3
