 Name: Duchess Velera Rovinare Age: 28 Relationship: Married (technically) Separated Gender: Female Personality: Velera is... strong-willed to say the least. She knows exactly what she wants, when she wants it. And she's willing to wait and work for it. She is quick-witted and sharp-tongued, usually sarcastic to the point that most don't even notice. She always wears a calm smile and pleasant eyes, but one can usually see that calculating spark in her green eyes. She will never shout or say a blatantly inappropriate word. However, she will never reveal her true self or her true plans. History: The Duchess Velera was born in the Tuscan countryside. She grew from a quiet, contemplative girl into a beautiful, intelligent, and intimidating woman who became of the most desired and frightening at court. Eventually, after making a respectable, fearsome reputation, her father tried to 'tame' her rapidly maturing capability for intrigue. He married her to a Viscount from Milan. He was a calm, patient man but had been in love with another woman. Velera hadn't been offended, but rather thankful. She arranged that there be a getaway in Milan for her dear husband, the then-Duke Fiorello, so that he could live there with his beloved (they're expecting their second child soon) and Velera had free reign in their Venician home. She is unofficially 'divorced' without the shame, and people are too intimidated by her to dare gossip. With the dilemma of the Red Death, she has been tapping into all of her hidden resources to figure out the nature of this development. Personality: Tobiah is a typically easy going and laid back guy with a suave air of humored intelligence surrounding him. He can usually be found in a cheerful mood and loves joking around and sharing good times with others. However the harmless and goofy guise often hides a far more cunning and icy personality and he has the potential to turn deadly seemingly at the drop of a pin. Itโs hinted he used to be far friendlier and genuine in the past but after the death of his young beloved wife his personality turned rather frigid and now he wears a convincing mask of smiles and polite frivolities. He is one of the more humble Nobles yet retains his air of aristocracy as is expected of him. He can often be witty and sarcastic. His personality resembles that of a two sided coin, however you flip it is the side youโll see.
History: Tobiah is a Marquis serving under the Duchessโ rule. He is in charge of a large estate and the neighboring lands and is the current recent head of his prestigious familyโs name. When he was a teen he was engaged to a young woman who miraculously turned out to be the love of his life and the two instantly fell hard for one another. A few years ago they were joyously married however they barely had the time to bask in one anotherโs love before fateโs ironic hand intervened and his dear wife caught the Red Death. The once beautiful and lively young lady withered away in front of his eyes before eventually passing on much to Tobiahโs grief. After his wifeโs death Tobiahโs personality changed, he became more withdrawn yet polite and gained a rather aloof and cold attitude so much unlike his normal cheerful self.
Time has passed and itโs clear the wounds from his belovedโs death are still open and festering yet he hides it well from the public. It is considered unbecoming for the head of the family to continue without a doting wife by his side and the family has begun pressuring for a second marriage. In an act of defiance Tobiah wearโs his wifeโs wedding ring on a chain around his neck. As the head of the Fiske family he has his hands in many of the Nobleโs business and has a tact for uncovering information and swaying people into trusting him. After the untimely death of his wife he has secretly been looking into the Red Death on the sly and the controversy surrounding it and will stop at nothing to discover the secrets regarding the strange plague.

 Name: Infanta Isabelle Navarre Age: 23 Relationship: Single Color: Red Gender: Female Personality: Isabelle can best be described as adventurous. Often, she appears snooty. This is unintentional, of course, but her background has given her certain privileges many have not been able to receive. Some of her favorite things to do involve scaring the cooks, flirting with innocent men and searching for hidden passages. She has a thirst for all things representing strength and beauty, particularly the color red. History: Isabelle is an Infanta, royal blood. She will never have the opportunity to reign as Queen but she receives all the benefits as if she would. As the youngest granddaughter of the large royal family, Isabelle was always allowed a little more freedom than the others. She took advantage of this allowance, slowly becoming the dare devil she is known as today. Her governess always looked onto Isabelle with disapproval, constantly shaking her head at the fiery spirit she had. Eventually, Isabelle grew into her family name and learned the importance of propriety. However, she was never able to fully let go of her inner-fire.

 Name: Baroness Lunetta Donatella Age: 22 Relationship: Single Color: Violet Gender: Female Personality: Lunetta is very relaxed and typically has good judgment, yet at times her feelings cloud that judgement. Her imagination has often led her to believe several fantasies, and so the thing she fears most is her own mind. Few have ever seen her temper, and those who have aren't too willing to speak about it. She never feels as though she should approach others first at parties, but if she sees a chance, such as someone sitting all by themselves, she will take it. History: Lunetta had been waiting until she married to take over her family's manor, yet when her parents were taken by the Red Death the month before, she was forced to take it over, or else watch as it crumbled to the ground. Being an only child, she had no siblings on which to pawn off her responsibility. Many people see her position as one that should bring her family shame, yet she sees at as a chance to show she's capable. That doesn't stop her any from looking for a husband.

 Name: Professor Rafael Salvatore Age: 26 Relationship: Single Role: Professor Gender: Male Personality: Rafael is observant, a watcher. He tends to be less of a social butterfly and more of a scholar. He is quiet, but that isn't to say he doesn't have his own opinions. When he does start talking about something that interests him, he gets fired up and spirited. History: A scientist. Rafael's father was a scholar and his mother was the one with the title. His mother, a Countess, has known the Duchess for years, even though she is still young. His father is still alive, which is why Rafael has not inherited his father's title yet. He was engaged to a young lady from Spain, the link their families, but she broke it off for an older noble from her own country. Since then, Rafael has been content to bury himself in books. He hasn't met much of the Red Death, but he's heard of it and has studied it extensively. He is one of the few in the University he spends so much time in that seems to be on the verge of figuring out this plague. His temper is frequent, but not harsh. He is described simply in one word: done. Having seen his share of the world, and having been stepped on by higher nobility, Jethro resigned to simply donning his houses colors and existing. History: Jethro wasn't always so dull or disconnected. He was almost lively, if not still quiet. His temper was a spectacle to be read in the papers, but more for his actions than his words. He had a spark of passion in him, if only just a spark, and those who were privy to information heard rumors that he was a notable lover. Upon his rising to his father's viscountcy, Jethro began his spiral down the drain into who he is known as now. The responsibility, etiquette of nobility, and the restrictions of royalty crushed his spirit beneath their weight, creating the only Jethro anyone really knew. With the visiting of the Red Death, Jethro had had the opposite reaction of most people who encountered it. He saw the years he had missed in his daze, and the things that could be done. Slowly but surely the Viscount Jethro Cunningham is returning to who he once was. and regaining his passion.

: Lumaniere Marie Annet (Marionette) Age: 23 Relationship: Single Role: Mysterious stranger Gender: Female Personality: Lumaniere is, well, a mysterious, yet, exquisite lady, and, oh, does she love it. She is a strong believer in passion, kindness, and imagination. She would sometimes leave her face covered when meeting strangers to allow them the chance to imagine her facial features, only by voice. However she knows it is not needed, she doesnโt need to be told how gorgeous she is. Though she loves to flirt and play, never does she flaunt her god given gift of beauty. Making other females jealous just seems so juvenile, and Lumaniere is everything but that. History: Oh please, does history really matter? Lumaniere loves to be mysterious, everytime she gives her life story, itโs different. And if the listener doubts her stories, she will give them a shrug, and leave it to their imagination. She does not live near the Tuscan countryside. The only information I will give out is that She traveled a long way to come to this masquerade. She comes from a massively wealthy family, and is the heir to one of the largest gold and diamond mines in the eastern part of the world. Her clothes and jewelry mostly consists of these two types of jewels.

 Name: Lord Sebastian Gabriel Vicont Age: 32 Relationship: Widowed/Single Color: Indigo Gender: Male Personality: Sebastian is a proper, courteous man who has impeccable manners. He is an honest man, maybe a bit too honest as he can come off blunt. Sebastian is a calm yet aloof man who has a sad gleam in his smile; however, he is a friendly and social man. He is a mature man who is observant to those around him. History: Sebastian was the second son of the Vicont family among four children, he being the second oldest. Because he was the second oldest male, Sebastian would not be the one to become the next head; all he would receive would be an inheritance and the title of a Lord. Sebastian did not mind this at all as his young, baby sister was the most unfortunate of them all. Being a girl, she was resigned to being married off to a man with a title, whether she loved him or not. Knowing this fact, Sebastian doted on his baby sister who was fifteen years younger than himself. Life continued as normal until tragedy struck, two of the Vicont children died. Sebastian's older brother died in a duel while his younger brother died of influenza. That left Sebastian and his younger sister as the only remaining heirs; being the second oldest, Sebastian would become the head of the family. Years later, Sebastian was married to the daughter of a wealthy merchant. She was not the most well mannered or proper woman nor was she the prettiest, but Sebastian still loved her. Unlike many pompous women who had thrown their selves at his feet, she was a real person who did not care about status or wealth. They were happily married for five years and were expecting their first child. It was going to be a baby girl. During labor, his young bride died along with his child. It completely devastated him and for a year, he drowned his sorrows in alcohol. He was somehow able to overcome his depression and return to society. Sebastian soon met the Duchess whom asked him to be one of the hosts for Carnivale. He reluctantly accepted after some persuading. He is the host for the dark indigo room.  Name: Vittorio Rovinare Age: 27 Relationship: Widowed Role: Drunkard Gender: Male Personality: Vitt is sarcastic, he doesn't care about what people have to say, so he feels no one cares about what he has to say. He abhors sympathy. He doesn't like to be serious and is a drunk, but a fun-loving drunk. History: He and the Duchess were children together, as cousins, that played pranks on each other constantly. As they grew, they grew apart. Vitt married a young woman, named Constance. She was of a lower rank than the Rovinare family, causing him to become the black sheep. They were together for 2 years until the Red Death claimed her life while pregnant with their first child. Since, he's turned his tendency for drinking to a habit. And from habit to life's passion.
