Her morning exercises with her father were done and now Aquitaine had a little bit of time to herself. In a bit there would be a dance lesson with mother. Learning the skills from both of her parents could be tiring some days but Aquitaine loved it. She wanted to be like her mother but at the same time be like her father. It really was a balancing act and she liked to think that she was fairly good at it so far. Her brothers didn't have a love of dance like she did, they called it a girly activity. That was fine, Aquitaine didn't mind, it meant that she had something special with their mother that they would never have. Laying in the cool sand of the beach Aquitaine used her long slender tail to draw in the sand. Soon the sun would warm up the sand and make her retreat into the shade but that also signaled the time for her dance lessons to start. Aquitaine let out a sigh as she scrawled a few lines in the soft sand. They reminded her of the waves on the ocean. Glancing up she looked out over the massive body of water.
Deciding to do something different Aquitaine got to her hooves, giving her pelt a shake to rid it of the sand that had collected there. With a quick gaze at her sand scribbles Aquitaine headed off for the trees. The berries had reached their peak and a snack would be great right about now. Training always made her hungry and her father had told her of the importance of keeping ones strength up. She could not continue to train is she didn't eat enough to restore the energy she had spent earlier today. The last thing she wanted was to not be able to dance because she lacked the energy. Trotting into the trees Aquitaine set out to the area she knew held a small berry patch not far from her home.
The sight of the plump blueberries covering the bush made her mouth water and her stomach growl. With a quick glance around to make sure her brothers weren't going to pounce on her suddenly Aquitaine lowered her head and began devouring the sweet delicious berries. Dark blue berry juice ran down her chin as she took a mouthful of berries, left ear flicking as a fly landed on it.

The ocean breeze played through the mare's fur, her braids swaying as she walked along the beach. She couldn't remember how long it had been since she had left Majesty and her remaining basket. how long it had been since she had betrayed all that she held dear to her. Even Alexander had seemed rather distant ever since the incident. Could she really blame him though? What kind of monster sold her own basket for some voodoo magic? And to think, it had all been for nothing. The beast had lied to her, tricked her. Yet she hadn't been able to go back on her word. If she hadn't given up the one, it would have only put the other in danger as well. She knew if she had told Majesty he would have wanted to protect them, but those creatures. She shuddered as she thought of the mare and her mate. They wouldn't have let them alone, she had had to pay the price or all of their lives would have been forfeit. Yet why did she feel as if she had made the wrong decision?
With a sigh as heavy as her heart, Zarita forced herself to clear her mind of such thoughts. What was done was done. Majesty and the baskets were gone and there wasn't a thing that she could do to bring them back. All that she could do now was to try and go on with her life. Perhaps one day she might be able to find and meet her foals. If she could hold onto that thought, she could keep herself going.
A sudden chill brought the mare out of her thoughts. Quickly she looked down and noted that the tide was coming in. Reluctantly, she changed her course to move inland. Perhaps she could find a place to cool off and rest. Later on when the tide receded she could continue her journey.

Oh these berries were delicious. And they would certainly give her the energy needed to do her dance lessons with mother and then play with her brothers afterwards...as long as they wanted to play something that didn't involve roughhousing of course. Scooping up another mouthful of berries Aquitaine's long tail glided back and fourth. Perhaps she should go find her brothers so that they too can enjoy the berries. But the problem was here brothers had this bad habit of wandering off farther than they should, not to mention almost always getting into trouble due to their adventures. It was the reason Aquitaine spent a good chunk of her time alone instead of playing with them, because she did not want to get in trouble with her parents - even though she was confident daddy would never punish her. The upside of being daddy's little princess was she could do no wrong in his eyes. Not that Aquitaine ever tried to get into trouble. There was too much for her to do training wise to bother running off chasing on critter or exploring beyond the area their parents had told them to stay within.
With a final gulp Aquitaine finished off what she could eat. There were still plenty left for her brothers and parents to have later, and even after that the bushes would still have a decent amount of berries remaining on them for the other creatures who lived in the area like the birds. Speaking of the birds, they had gone a bit quiet. Their song still filtered through the trees but they had moved further away. Curious to see what had sent the birds away Aquitaine abandoned the berry bush and headed back towards the beach. Stopping at the edge of the trees Aquitaine's gaze looked out over the sand. Why if it wasn't for the dark mane and tail Aquitaine would have almost missed the mare coming up along the sand, her coat nearly matched the sand she walked on. Look how long that mane was, and it looked so pretty brained like that. It vaguely reminded her of her mothers hair, though mothers was blue and was always left loose. She wondered if her own main would grow to be that long or be on the shorter side like her fathers.
The stranger was coming this way and Aquitaine watched her approach. Taking a step out onto the beach Aquitaine smiled at the mare, though remained quiet for the moment, the mare looked to be deep in thought and the filly didn't want to interrupt that just to say hi. When the mare noticed her then she would say hello.
