The sun rose high burning away the mist that obscured the meadow in the morning. Evaporating the dew that gathered on the plants and on those who slept there. It started to warm the air, and flowers turned their faces toward the sun. There was no more beautiful sight to the arion.

Branimir fluttered his wings lightly. It was a beautiful sight and a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the flowers blooming, there was a gentle breeze... he could ask for mothing more. But there was still something missing.

A pair of songbirds chirped as they flew playfully around the Arion before flying away. That was the issue. He was lonely.

Aeysel walked slowly across the grass, the rising sun bright in his eyes. He rustled his wings and settled them back in against his body. A light breeze tousled his hair across his face, and he shook his head to clear his eyes. He heard the beautiful morning song of two birds, and looked up to find them. They spiraled around one another in the air. Aeysel snorted lightly. He wondered what it would be like to enjoy the company of another, but the concept was so alien to him that he could not visualize it at all.

As he watched the pair of birds, they descended out of the sky and flew around a handsome stallion. Aeysel felt an immediate draw toward the stranger, but did not know what to make of it. He stopped walking forward and stood, watching.

He did not notice the presence of any others about, did not feel the weight of the gaze that watched, not necessarily him, but the birds and, incidentally him. Grass green eyes watched wistfully as the songbirds flew away together. He smiled, a soft and gentle smile, a secret smile, knowing that they were happy together, that they were not alone.

'Oh how I wish I could find something like that,' he whispered under his breath, knowing how unlikely it was that it would ever happen. He was different. He did not want a female companion, their soft gentleness was not what he desired in a companion. He longed for a strong male to dominate him and protect him. Desires that led him to become an outcast. Desires that led him here to this meadow, and left him all alone. How could he ever find someone like that?

He stood motionless, still watching the stallion, and the birds that swirled away from him. Aeysel realized that his mouth had fallen open at some point and quickly closed it, feeling foolish. He was glad no one else was around to notice.

What has gotten into me? This just isn't like me at all, he thought. He had the strong compulsion to go over and greet the stranger but had no idea what he would or could possibly say. He opted to move a little closer, unobtrusively, and maybe then he would be noticed instead. I don't even know why I'm so interested. I don't need anyone else for anything, he scolded himself. He shook his head and began to graze, unsure of what to do next.

Some sound or scent or even a change in the air, something, alerted Branimir to the fact that he was no longer alone. The soft smile faded and was replaced by a neutral expression. Just how badly had he embarrassed himself? Until he found out, he would remain careful, cautious, as unlikely -for him- to worsen the situation as could be achieved.

He looked around, trying to find out just who or what was nearby. Please, just be a meadow creature. Or something small and fluffy. He thought, but was proven to be in vain. He quickly spotted the solara stallion, how could he not have? The other just stood out, looking so out of place in the meadow. He snorted, but then he didn't exactly belong here either.

'What are you doin' around here, stranger?'
