The lioness padded along the sands, alternating between vigilance and admiring the color of the sky before the sun rose. She preferred to rise very early to stretch her muscles and warm herself up before training. She wasn't the only one to rise early- many others were on their way to their duties, or were on patrol at this hour. The sand was cool beneath her paws from the clear night sky for this dawn. The sky continued to lighten and she began to wonder when she should turn back to go for her training... She had quite a while yet, though, and could continue to explore her new home. If one hoped to be a strong soldier, they had to know their territory. Strength devoid of knowledge was a wasted effort, oftentimes.
It was with this in mind that she decided to investigate a landmark she had seen peeking over the sand- a patch of rock that had intrigued her for days. One last glimpse at the sky confirmed that she had ample time as she began in that direction.
