Nationality: Japanese (a girl living in Bakumatsu, Late Tokugawa Shogunate, final years of the EDO Period)
General Appearance: Hourglass figure, Long brown hair, brown eyes,

VERY BRIEF personality/history: Rin would have been living in Bakamatsu and when time broke her village was surrounded by the current year. Having been in the middle of fending off bandits from her home, she chased them into what appeared as the current day in the middle of a city wielding a blade. She was arrested perhaps. Seen on TV News? And possibly rescued by Lotus because of her ability to use a katana(maybe for field work) and her knowledge of western medicine as her mother studied it--which western medicine would have been a rarer thing. But more importantly, if she were to find out about Lotus, she would surely want to investigate a way to return everyone to one time period.

Rin worked with her family on a plantation growing rice. Her mother studied western medicine because she firmly believed it was better than what they were currently using, and wanted to heal her husband; who was sickly. Western medicine was first brought over by the Dutch. Anti-western sentiment was growing however. And her knowlege could be frowned upon. What she knew she passed on to her daughter though. But her father eventually died of TB This left Rin behind to take care of her mother and younger brother. In an effort to protect her family from bandits and rogue ronin (which was common due to the fact Loyalists to the Emperor of Japan began to commit acts of murder and violence in Kyoto, the imperial capital.) she took lessons in self defense and learned to wield a katana.

This isn't my opinion as a staff member, but just a quick note before I head to class. I would think of better reasons for her to join, as right now it seems very unlikely that they'd court her on the basis of her knowledge of two languages and her popularity, especially if Japan has become nationalistic and enclosed, meaning that she likely isn't very well known outside of Japan (and peoples' knowledge of her before the time break wouldn't count, as most people existing now aren't from her time period). I would focus less on the idea of a Japanese model, which is a fun idea and would be good in another shop, and more on the idea of a character who would have a strong and legitimate reason for joining a group like LOTUS.

okies thanks! and I changed my post to my back up. Feudal Era-ish. Would her being brought to the current age via time warp be plausible? And looking for a way home be a good enough reason to join Lotus? xD

Hey Erina! My opinion on the time warp--
More or less that would be plausible. The way time works in lotus is less like a time warp, and more like this:
When time 'broke', time became non-linear and little pockets of different time periods popped up everywhere. So in Japan, for example, you could have a pocket where there's modern day Japan, another pocket where it's Feudal Japan, and another where there is Japan during WWII. This threw everything into disarray, so nations started to become very nationalistic and tried to bring everyone together under one specific time period (the time period chosen varies on the country and on who had the most power, influence, etc. at that time). People from all eras exist right 'now' in the lotus setting and they're all very confused about what's happening. xD
So Rin could absolutely be feeling very lost in current Japan, and wanting to find a way home. And she could definitely hear about lotus as an option. xD
Does that clear things up a bit?
