Namaqua...isn't quite sure what had happened the night before. He knows he'd gone to a large soiree thrown by....Guardians only knew who...some important folks on the Isle, he presumes. Perhaps he'd had too much to drink, which....alright, wouldn't be terribly out of character. But this morning he's awoken to a headache and a feeling he can't shake that he'd done something that perhaps he ought not to have done.

Thaddeus squinted his eyes as the morning light hit his face. Why did it have to be so loud? He groaned and rolled over, moaning into his pillow. He could feel his feathers hurt...What happened? He went to that..Party thing...There was booze...Then something hurt...Then it went black. What happened...Where was he? That may have been the most important question of this morning...But every just hurt so badly...And he was so sore he had no clue what happened and what was going on.

Namaqua groans and sits up. His muscles feel tight and sore, like he'd been working out the day before. Which he hadn't done. Hmph.
He goes silent as he hears noise in another part of his cavelike home. Hm. It appears he's not alone this morning. Keeping low to the ground, Namaqua creeps along the walls, careful to position his feet as he takes steps so as not to make a clop, clop noise with his hooves.
He peeks behind a heavy blanket hanging between two rooms. Another male Pae, grey with skin like stone and vibrant red hair, is awaking. He looks just as poorly as Namaqua himself feels.
He clears his throat discreetly, alerting the other male to his presence. He's fairly confident that, should he become violent, that he'd be no match for him.
[Hope those pronouns were clear. >.>]

Thaddeus cracked an eye open at the sound of someone clearing his throat...His...Another male-wait where was he. This wasn't his...Crap shack. He didn't know much of building and after the hurricane he found himself homeless and scrounging around for materials. Despite being a mess, it was probably the most comfortable sleep he had gotten in a long time.
Who was that anyways? Probably his home...Why was he here. He didn't do sleepover after all. He struggled to focus his site on whoever that was. So many strips..Some sorta goat man? What were they called...Faun...Why was he near a Faun? He rattled his brain trying to think of what he was told about Fauns before but all he could really remember was glaring at his childhood rival. That seemed like forever ago now.
He grunted a response to the other male, not really willing to get up just yet. His entire being hurt too much. "Where am I?...And who are you?" He finally managed to mumble out. The other male seemed familiar though...

Namaqua shrugs, rolling his shoulders back to stretch them. At least he wasn't as disoriented as the poor fellow, though he still wonders what he's doing in his house.
"I'm Namaqua," he answers, leaning on the wall, opposite hand on his hip. "You're in my house. So I might wonder the same of you--who are you, and why are you in my house?" he asks. His voice is quiet, gentle, but firm. He wants to make it clear to this other male that he's on his turf, but from the look of him, he's probably nursing the same headache Namaqua himself is.
Despite himself, he feels a strange sort of attachment toward this stranger. A type of fond familiarity, though he can't imagine why. He doesn't remember anything from the previous night. The thought occurs to him that he might have....no. Not possible. Namaqua never brings men home on the first date. But he can't shake the fleeting memory of the softness of feathers, somehow...
"You weren't at that odd party yesterday, were you?" he wonders aloud.

Thaddeus dropped his head back at the firmness of the other male's voice. He had no cares to give with this headache. Why was he her anyways? These were all good questions he just didn't know the answers...Well, he know the answer to the last one. "Ya, I was at that odd party last night." He mumbled to the other. " I don't remember much after a certain point...Something...Hurt...Then I remember....Smooth talking?" Thaddeus lifted his head again and ran a hand through his red hair. Smooth talking? That was as far away from him as he could get. That..Didn't make sense.
"Maybe I'm just too hung over...That can't be right....I'm..Never like that...Maybe it was just some sorta nightmare."

Namaqua gives another shrug. At least where he'd come from is no longer a mystery.
"It seems to me everyone there had quite a lot to drink. Me included," he adds, touching his head. "It's possible I invited you to stay the night here, if you weren't capable of getting home on your own. I don't remember much of last night either." He pauses. "D'you want something to eat?" he asks.
Namaqua moves toward the circle of stones near the entrance to his cave home. He still has enough wood to burn; he wouldn't need to go scavenging for more until tomorrow at the soonest. He starts a fire going in the pit, then picks up a couple of squashes from a pile he'd picked earlier in the week. He'd found that they're excellent roasted.

"Umm..Sure.." He didn't get his thought out before Namaqua started to move. He slowly sat up, sitting on the edge of the bed and just thinking and feeling... Awkward. Why was he here? More importantly what happened last night...And what was knew feeling of maybe he didn't want to know. I mean, he didn't swing that way...Did he? Thaddeus bit his lip while in deep though. He never truly did think about that stuff, ever so content to just be be himself he wasn't even too sure he HAD a preference.
He let out a long sigh. He was probably just worrying too much. Who knows. He didn't. And he wasn't about to worry about it. He rubbed his head ones again before slowly getting up, moving to where Namaqua was working, leaning against the nearest wall and crossing his arms, watching him.

Namaqua gets a nice fire going and sits comfortably in front of it, the two squash he'd picked out in his lap.
"How do you like roasted squash?" he asks with a bit of a smile. He picks up one of his roasting sticks, a long wooden stick whittled to a point on one end, and impales the squash with it. He holds it over the flame, turning it every so often.
He tries to replay the events of the night before in his mind. It wasn't much use...he must've had quite a lot to drink. He can't shake the feeling that they may have done more than sleep, he and the red-haired Pae. He glances up at him briefly. Hm. Perhaps that wouldn't have been so terrible.
"So...." he realizes he doesn't know the other Pae's name. "What was your name again?" he asks.

"Since the hurricane? Not that fussy. Can't be. Hard enough to find food.." Thaddeus rubbed his eyes and sighed. To this faun he must sound pathetic. "I'm not much for finding my own food, I won't lie. Guess we were all just spoiled by the HQ...Now that it's gone it's been hard for us...No homes, no supplies..." Sighs before running his hand through his red hair, lost in thought for a moment before blinking to him. "Oh ummm...It's Thaddeus..."

Namaqua nods, turning the squash slowly on the stick. It should be done soon. "Well, Thaddeus, you seem a decent fellow. You're welcome anytime in my cave. I know I'm one of the lucky ones who's found a safe and permanent place to dwell. It's not much, but it's certainly better than nothing, and with a fire like this it's quite cozy."
He smiles a little and pulls the squash out of the fire to look at it. "This one looks done if you want it," he says, offering the stick over to Thaddeus.

Thaddeus looked at the squash and nods to him, taking it slowly and sits down near the other male. "Thank you..." He felt odd being here but he was thankful for his hospitality. He took a bite of his squash before raising a brow as he spoke, chewing slowly for a moment. "Well...That's...Nicer than I've ever been treated..." The poor male was clearly unsure how to handle it at the moment. Everything was so...Weird right now after all.

Namaqua chuckles and picks up a second stick, puts a squash on it, and begins to roast it in the same way. Clearly his guest is unused to hospitality. "So tell me about yourself," says Namaqua, repositioning his hooves more comfortably beneath his haunches. "What do you like to do? Do you have any family? What brought you to the party?" he gives some examples.
He frowns and looks behind him. He feels like he's being watched. It's a creepy-crawly feeling up his spine, and sets his teeth on edge. He tries to ignore it, though, and smiles pleasantly at Thaddeus.

Thaddeus looked up once again from nomming on his squash. It was pretty good after all. "In order? I've lived a solitary life so not much, don't have any family and I went because free food was hard to pass up...Plus I didn't have anything to do that night anyways." Even admitting that to the other male sounded sad. Man he had done nothing with his life. Maybe he should change that.
He looked over to where Namaqua turned and raised a brow. "Something up?" He said as he leaned over to get a better look and...Whatever it was.

"I dunno," says Namaqua, standing up and walking toward the back of the cave. "It's probably nothing..." It's never nothing. "I just can't shake the feeling like we're being watched." Probably just a squirrel or something that snuck in.
He looks around for a while, and just when he's about to dismiss it as nothing, a slight movement catches his eye. There's a basket by his bed that hadn't been there before, he's sure, covered in a thin blanket. He stares at it for a moment, completely bewildered, and jumps slightly as the blanket rustles a little.
"Huh," he says. "This basket definitely wasn't here a moment ago..." Apprehensively he reaches out to lift the blanket....and gasps at what he sees.
