Artist - Perhaps the only true gift her parents gave her was an artistic and creative streak in her blood. While they focused on music her heart has always lied in visual arts, in particular drawing, coloring, and painting. Even when they moved from place to place or lived out of cars a box of crayons were easily toteable in her pocket. As she grew however her love of art also began to support her.
Her great aspirations are to be a doujin artist, but that's easier said than done while living in the US. For the time being she sells art and comic commissions online via various websites and occasionally creates fan doujins for 'pay' sites that she makes minimal money off of.
Anime connoisseur - Partially for job research, partially for enjoyment Adagio watches A LOT of anime and reads A LOT of manga. Something about the colors and styles is just much more enjoyable to her then the realism of 'the shitty real world'. Genre doesn't matter that much she'll watch anything, but this is especially true when it comes to hentai (both for research and lulz). Need someone to suggest something a good/terrible/ridiculous anime/manga or hentai? She's your gal.
Tumblr/Reddit/Interneting in general - The internet is both a great tool for her livelihood (offering her much pirated anime and manga and a place to hock her skills) and a beloved distraction from life. She can spend hours browsing message boards and/or bullying idiots on the internet. Her laptop and drawing tablet are her most expensive and prized possessions.
Smoking - More a vice than a hobby. After watching her parents excessive drug use she won't ever touch hard drugs (or even really light stuff like pot) but Adagio can't help but smoke cigarettes like a chimney. Due to her age has to buy then off older students.
Virtues:
Motivated -- Because of her strong feelings of inadequacy and the struggles of her youth Adagio is strongly motivated to prove herself as a worthwhile person both to herself and others. This motivation to greatness drives her onward nonstop to always reach for higher and better. She wants to be the best of the best and will do whatever it takes to get there.
Hard working -- Not only does she have the motivation to go someplace, she also has the drive and persistance to actually work towards that goal. As long as it's for something she desires Adagio doesn't mind getting her hands dirty and putting in the effort, even over long periods of time.
'Adult' -- Due to her neglectful and abusive parents Adagio had to learn to take care of herself at an early age. Dressing and cleaning herself, cooking and often times even finding the money or resources to feed herself - she's been fending for herself since as long as she can remember. Just before her 16th birthday, to avoid being put into the foster care system when her parents were arrested, she became emancipated. Though she certainly does some irresponsible things (like smoking, sleeping around, or staying out all night) she's responsible when it counts. Paying bills, going to school, filling out paperwork etc etc.
Flaws:
Napoleon complex -- Adagio was always a pretty shrimpy kid, but when she still stood no taller then 4'8 after puberty had struck Nina was horribly crushed. Because she feels inferior in a world where most tower over her, she lashes out and tries to make herself feel more superior in other ways. She's prone to throwing around her weight whenever she's in a position of power (for instance group leader during a school project), vigorously highlighting her own worth, and is often downright nasty and short tempered due to frequent frusterations and limitations that her height brings. Any teasing or jokes (even good natured ones) are taken the worst way possible, as Adagio always feels the need to defend and protect herself.
Belligerent -- Due to her short temper and aggressive nature Adagio can get downright belligerent at times. Compromise is a foreign word to her. When frustrated or in the heat of things Adagio does not know how to stop, instead becoming a brick wall of loud, temper tantruming, combativeness. More then a few of these occasions have escalated to physical fights, which is what helped land her in St Magdalena (along with arrangements dealing with her emancipation).
In it for herself -- Given her crappy upbringing, gruffness, and goal driven personality Adagio isn't the greatest at making or keeping friends (she grew up believing it was her against the world after all). She views herself as number 1 and will put other people's needs or desires on a back burner if it means accomplishing something or gaining something for herself. Sometimes keeping yourself alive and successful means shoving someone else under the bus - survival of the fittest.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Body type: Very short. 4 foot 8 inches (though she'll argue it's 4 foot 8 and 1/2!) Despite being short it is obvious she is fully grown (she has curves) and is also proportionate.
Eyes: Colorist Choice!
Hair: Styled to try and give herself as much height as possible.

Clothes: Adagio's wardrobe is on the small side and very utilitarian. She has her St Mags uniform for school, a handful of comfy tshirts and leggings for hanging around home, and a few nicer things that could be classified either as business casual or club wear whenever she's out trying to pretend she's older than she is. Regardless she always wears platform shoes to try and boost her height.
