She'd just been meandering the streets, re-acquainting herself with Destiny City and, OK maybe just a tiny bit trying to escape her homework when she found the little cafe. It was cute, it was tiny and, from the delicious smells coming from the bakery display inside, had fantastic food.

As it turned out, it did. Which was probably why the place was so crowded; every table but the one Aggie was sitting at had multiple people, all trying to cram into the little cafe. There'd been an elderly gentleman making eyes at the chair at her side, but he'd given up once he'd arrived to the same conclusion as everyone else - there was no way anyone of his size was going to fit next to Aggie. She was pretty tall after all, and even with her slim build, her long legs easily filled up the space beneath the table. It'd take someone significantly smaller than the large gentleman was to be able to sit at the table.

Breaktime.

She'd spent the last hour and a half at a salon, getting her hair and nails done, not to mention trying on fabulous shoes before hand. Now, however, the pale Serenity was tired and felt the need for a bit of espresso in her afternoon. A little afternoon pick-me-up, so to speak. Looking around, she smelled some amazing food coming from...

There.

She spotted this small, cute little cafe that seemed to be bustling with customers. Walking up to it with her head high, wavy hair loose about her shoulders, the petite girl went into the shop and frowned.

"Well, this will not do at all," she said to herself, looking at the line. Sighing, she looked down to her school uniform, which she didn't bother to change out of before her spree and then back up. Well, it looked like she'd have to wait a bit before even attempting an order. Her feet were hurting her from her new school shoes. The only seat, however, seemed to be next to a red-head. A tall one, from the looks of those lanky, though shapely, legs under the table.

No matter. This is were being short came in handy. Serenity settled into the seat beside her without much of a problem and set her bags on the table, away from the other's food.

"So sorry to just sit without introducing myself, but it is simply too crowded. I couldn't pass up a chance to sit down and wait." She said, smiling at the other, looking hopeful that the other girl didn't punch her or push her away.

Aggie had been too lost in her totally amazing (fantastic, delicious!) sandwich to notice that someone had slid into the seat next to her. Well, at least until the other girl set her bags on the table. That got her attention, if nothing else.

Blinking out of her reverie, the red-head turned to face the other girl with an encouraging smile on her face. "Oh, um, no worries, that's completely fine!" They could both sit here without it being too cramped, so really, there wasn't much to complain about, and she did enjoy having company. Especially company that could be a potential friend..

Upping her smile a notch at the thought, Aggie nodded to the pale (really, really pale] girl next to her. "Are you a regular here? I'm Aggie, by t-the way. Nice to meet you!" She gave a little wave with the hand that was holding her sandwich. Oh, right! The sandwich - she'd totally forgotten about that. Putting it down on her plate with a slightly embarrassed smile and a blush, she hoped the pale girl didn't think she was a total mental case now. Who went about waving sandwiches around, anyway?

Total mental case? Maybe not. A little klutzy and forgetful? Perhaps. Still, a smile came over the pale girl's face as she watched the lanky girl. Good! There was no problem then. Sighing in relief, the other let her eyes go wide and her cheeks puff up before laughing. "Thank goodness. There's really not much else to sit! It's so busy here," she said, looking around before letting her attention turn back to the red-head.

"Serenity Kinderman. I am, however, not a regular here. I only just stopped by from a break from shopping. The smell drew me, and from the looks of it," she motioned to Aggie's sandwich, "it's as good as it smells." The pale girl only smiled again. "So, Aggie, was it? Tell me something. Is there espresso here? I'm in dire need! Shopping is so energy draining, you know? So espresso is just the boost that'll get me back into the fray!" The other girl kind of bounced in her chair as she looked the girls' hair over. Look, she had smaller ears! That was so not fair. Unconsciously, Serenity's hands went to her own ears, which stuck out rather annoyingly and sighed. Well, maybe the more piercings she got the smaller they'd look. ...Once the swelling went down, anyway.

"It's nice to meet you, too."

The entire time, her tone was happy and slightly hyper. It was almost like she didn't need an espresso.

"It is!" Aggie nodded fervently. "They do really good food, here and," she glanced around, noting the number of coffee cups in the hands of the other customers, "I'm sure they've got espresso as well! They'd be kinda stupid n-not to, right? And I mean, most places have the fancier forms of coffee nowadays. And it's right next to a shopping street, so I'm sure you're not the only one to stop by for something to drink." Really, if the cafe didn't have espresso, they were wasting a good business opportunity, even the red-head could tell. And it wasn't like she was a business-afficionado or anything.

"What were you shopping for, anyway?" She shot a curious glance at the bags on the table, not quite able to curb her inquisitiveness. The other girl was definitely stylish, wearing beautifully crafted clothes, each piece probably more expensive than Aggie's rent. Still, she didn't seem snobbish or anything, the red-head figured - she was pretty, what was it called, down to earth? There hadn't even been one disparaging look at Aggie's clothes so far.

And really, potential friends could come from all walks of life, she figured, so it wasn't like it mattered overly much that Serenity clearly had money backing her. Still, it might make her shopping trips a bit more interesting than those of the red-head's.

"I think they'd be stupid not to. I think there should be espresso machines in every shop ever." She laughed at that and then sighed, looking at the line. It didn't seem to be getting any smaller. It made her fret a bit. She really wanted the coffee now. A hand was ran through her hair as she looked the other girl over. There was no judgement on her face right now. She'd come of snobbish or two by doing just this, so she kept her expression as neutral as she could. Her tastes weren't bad. They were common for people who didn't come from her back ground. However, she knew them to be comfortable. In the comfort of her own home, Serenity put on her own comfortable clothes. An old, over sized tee shirt and shorts. Only on days she knew she didn't have company.

"I'm just shopping for some new threads for when I go out after cram school. You know, with a group of friends. Perhaps finding a gift or two for friends up and coming birthdays. Some new shoes..." She looked down to her school shoes and sighed. They really were hurting her feet.

"All while breaking in the new shoes," came out in a sigh. "I hate new shoes, but I love them at the same time. I wish they'd come not so ... stiff. More comfortable, you know? So they didn't leave blisters on your ankles."

"That sounds lovely." It really did; it kinda made her wish she still had friends here in DC whose birthdays she could shop for. Oh well, she'd get there again soon! And maybe one day she'd meet Imo at the park or something and they could be best friends again!

But maybe not. It was probably best to keep living in the now, instead of speculating about the past all the time. And that meant making new friends - but she'd still keep a place in her heart for her old best friend, the first one she'd ever really had. The reason she'd even started taking being a senshi seriously in the first place.

"Yeah, I t-think I know what you mean. It'd be nice if there was like, some way to break them in without, um, actually walking in them, y'know? So you wouldn't have to get blisters and sore skin and all." She paused for a second, thinking. "I'm sure someone could make a lot of money with an invention like that!"

Listening to the tall girl put a huge smile on Serenity's face. They were on the same wave length with that thought! Giving off a soft laugh, the pale girl nodded a little and watched the red-head. "Yes! I don't know why someone hasn't done that already. You could even build a machine for it so you don't have to worry about people with stinky feet wearing your shoes, you know? Buy a pair, take it to the place and the robots or whatever will do it for you." She nodded delicately before thinking. Maybe she'd run that thought by her dad and see what he thought of it. Either way.

"Oh, look! The line is smaller. Do you want to come with me? I don't like waiting by myself, really," she admitted, cheeks turning a soft shade of pink. Even blushing was pale with this girl, it seemed. She would always be pale. That was something she fought with when she saw all the tan models in magazines in the clothes she wanted to wear.

Hopping up out of her chair, the shorter girl smiled and waited for a response. "If not, that's fine. I mean, it's just right here. I'm being silly." She stuck her tongue out a bit and then laughed, sighing. She was tired, needed the boost and nervous around a potential new friend. She hoped Aggie would be her friend. She always needed more. "You can tell me about yourself after I order, hm?"

"Ohh yeah!" Aggie nodded fervently, already imagining little robots shaped like feet walking around to break in your new shoes. "They'd have to make a lot though, one for every shoe-size." That'd be a lot of robots, in her estimation. "So it'd have be done in like, specialized stores, wouldn't it? B-because it'd be a bit much machinery lying around for just an ordinary shoe-shop, I think."

The redhead glanced towards the line at Serenity's words, "oh, um, sure!" She unfolded herself from her seat, taking care not to jostle the other girl during the process. "N-no, it's nothing to worry about, I'll come with you." Sending a shy smile at the pale girl, she continued, "and, um, I'll try my best? I'm not really all that interesting, though."

Unless one counted the whole 'being a senshi'-thing, but even Aggie was pretty sure that was bad to just blurt out during a first meeting.

"Or just a few, that adjust to the shoe-size," she said with a giggle. Aggie was a lot of fun already! She could be silly with her and it felt completely normal. She might have just found herself a new best friend. Her other friends didn't completely understand her silly ideas a lot of the times, but she didn't hold that against them. She was pretty silly. Serenity let out another giggle before looking back at the red-head with a smile.

"You will? Great! I'm glad it's not as long as when I came in," she said, stepping into line. Sighing, the smaller of the two looked up to the taller and shrugged. "You are interesting to me! What do you do for fun, usually? I ice skate. I love being on the ice. It's very...." She tried to find the word for how she felt with the ice gliding under her. The rush of cold wind on her face, the sound the blade made as she lept and turned. "Magical." She felt lame finishing it like that, but it was all she could come up with. It was one of her favorite places to be, honestly. She glanced back at the table to make sure her bags were still there; she really didn't want what was in them stolen. Some of those pants were too hard to find in her size! But, they were still there, so she looked back up to Aggie with an expectant look.

"Ohh!" She hadn't even thought of that, but of course, the robots could be self-adjustable! "That would be all k-kinds of amazing, wouldn't it? I bet whoever invents those robots can make a fortune in record time." She looked wistful for a moment, "makes me wish I was better at crafts. Being able to make robots would be so awesome!"

Settling into the line next to Serenity, Aggie nodded with a slightly relieved smile - the line had indeed gotten smaller, luckily. "Ice skating? Wow! That does sound magical," she sighed a bit dreamily. "I've never tried it to be honest, but those p-people who can like, dance on the ice are fantastic! It looks so graceful and beautiful."
Fiddling with the hem of her blouse, the red-head looked a bit shy, "I, er, I like collecting ribbons. For my hair, y'know? There's just so many different styles and colours and fabrics, and it's amazing what a difference j-just changing your ribbons can make to an outfit!" She was a bit of a hoarder really, when it came to ribbons. "And geography. I really like studying geography. It's not nearly as magical as ice-skating, b-but it can be really fascinating still!"

Ice skating was pretty magical and beautiful. The feel of the slick ice under her skates, the cold rush of wind that came with it. Not to mention all the dazzling, sparkly outfits? It was her life sometimes. "I skate when I'm really stressed. I can't do all the fancy moves, but I know a few. If I need a break from... well, basically everything, I tend to just go out to the ice and skate away my worries. I listen to the music and get lost in myself. It really helps." Serenity nodded and gave a laugh at her own words, as if confirming them to herself. She hadn't been skating recently.

When Aggie said she'd never skated, her eyes lite up. "Come with me then! I want to skate next weekend. I can teach you." She was sure she was a good teacher! She'd never really taught anyone to skate before, but she remembered her beginning training, so that was something, right? "On Friday, we can watch movies about skating and go Saturday! I'm pretty sure there's a rink close by. Oh, I know!" Her voice hit a high note because she was so excited. Getting a new friend, skating, and potential sleep over? Good day to be Serenity, honestly. With a huge grin on her face, she moved up in line and looked at Aggie. "You can sleep over instead of just going back and forth."

Then was the mention of ribbons and Serenity nodded. She had only used a few ribbons because she usually wore her hair up or in some kind of messy braid, but she had a few of them. "I see. I love hair accessories too. Clips and those.. chop stick thingies? Those are good for after a shower to get it off of your neck. Though you probably knew that..." Her cheeks colored lightly as she gave a sheepish laugh. Aggie had hair that was probably the same height as the petite girl, so of course she would know that.

"I'm alright with geography. I'm not the best in the world, but I can at least point out a few places and read a map." She nodded, pleased with herself and gave a bubbly laugh. "Oh, would you like anything when I order? I can pay for it. I don't mind."

Seal the friendship deal with coffee. It was perfect!

"Really?" Aggie's eyes were wide as she listened to Serenity's proposition - that sounded... that sounded awesome! Quite unbidden, a huge smile grew on her face, "that'd be fantastic! I haven't had a sleep-over, in like, years! Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother or anything." It did sound like a dream come true; she'd been pretty sure that they were edging into 'almost friends', but this was full-on friends! Aggie loved friends of any kind, but man, full-on friends...

Giggling slightly, she settled into a smile, "I know! They're a bit useless with hair this long, though. I have to let it hang freely or it takes like, days to dry out properly." She grimaced at the thought; usually she mixed blowdrying with air-drying, and it worked alright, even if it still took forever to dry.

Laughing along with Serenity, Aggie took a second to think before answering, "oh, um, sure! Just a regular coffee, with milk and s-sugar. I can pay though, it's no problem."

Problem? Problem, really?

"If it would be a problem, I wouldn't have suggested it, Aggie," she said with a little, playful wink. Turning to the counter she ordered her coffee and then Aggie's and paid for everything. Who cared? It was just coffee. It wasn't like it was really expensive or anything. With a nod and a sigh, she took her change back and waited for the girl behind the counter to begin making it.

"Well.. What do you do if you just need a rinse off and not a shower? Do you just hold your hair or something?" She was curious now. Serenity had never had really long hair, but not she kind of wanted to. Tossing her just past shoulder length hair off of her shoulder, she watched the other girl, very curiously. Maybe she piled it up and just put like one of those plastic shower caps on it? It made sense, though Serenity had never worn a plastic shower cap, so she couldn't see it working too well.

Aggie gave a shy smile at Serenity's wink, glad that everything seemed to be going well and the other girl hadn't taken offense to her offering to pay for herself. Not that most people would. Would they? Maybe they would, Aggie didn't really know - it wasn't that often that someone else offered to pay for her, so she hadn't gotten very many chances to offer to pay for herself.

The redhead tuned back out to what her shorter friend was saying, and nodded along to the question. "Basically, yeah. I just kind of, um, bun it, really. My hair's really thick though, so it h-has to be a quick rinse off or the bun comes undone." She grimaced lightly at the thought, remembering the many quick showers that'd unintentionally ended in soaked-through hair because of it. Serenity probably never had those kind of troubles; well, at least not to the extent of Aggie. "Do you ever p-put up your hair or anything like that?" She threw an admiring look at the shorter girl's hair, thinking of all the possibilities it held. There were so many hair do's one could do with it!
