Remarque was quickly becoming familiar with the aura of Corrupted Senshi, though familiarity did nothing to discourage approaching them. While they would never be as close to him as a fellow Dark Mirror Senshi, he supposed that the Corrupted Senshi of the Negaverse were the closest thing to allies that they had. Nothing necessarily against the rest of the Negaversers, but Remarque had long since noticed the differences between them.
He might hold a slight grudge against their Corrupted Senshi, but as long as they were working together, he reminded himself that it wasn't worth getting upset over. Even if they would have been better off joining the Dark Mirror Court.
Remarque had always found himself wondering why—what was so appealing about the Negaverse—what did they have that the Dark Mirror Court couldn't provide? Was getting a hole in the chest really more appealing? Or was there some greater picture he was missing?
He walked, casually towards the energy signature. It was strong—an eternal?--which must mean that they knew what they were doing. They had to have some answer, some logic.
A list of questions—and a demand for answers—prepared, Remarque nearly forget them when he spotted the senshi he'd been seeking out.
He'd known he was walking toward a corrupted senshi—but Albireo?
The girl had been lost in some in-between state last time, torn by her stance and unsure of where she stood. Certainly it was good to see her free from the White Moon, but the sensation was almost surreal.
He had met Albireo before he'd ever really known what a senshi was. He remembered her at the foot of his bed when he woke up in the Surrounding. And here she was, before him—changed.
Maybe there was hope for the White Moon, yet.
Her aura might be different, but he'd have recognized her anywhere—corrupt or not. "Albireo," he greeted from where he stood behind her. "…It's been a while."

Albireo was sitting on a bench, looking up at the night sky, twisting long strands of hair into a braid, and just letting her mind wander. She had such a sense of calm ever since she had been corrupted. Sure, the very moment of corruption had been difficult, and there was that small bit of fear, but, she was glad that Zinkenite had known that she was strong enough to work past that fear. She really was pleased.
It was difficult though. Difficult to not remember just who she was, just who she had been before corruption…she remembered a lot of who she had been as Albireo…but any sense of who she was when she was not powered up was just a very muddy, hazy, dark blur. She felt an aura approaching and glanced up, giving a rather quizzical look. It felt strong, and…and it was chaos aligned…maybe it was…A dark mirror senshi…
The girl gave a little smile. Maybe it was Leto…Maybe…But, no…no, it wasn’t Leto.
She gave a soft little laugh. “It’s never Leto is it…” The eternal senshi murmured, sighing slightly. “Hello there…It was Remarque, right? I’m pretty sure your name was Remarque.” Just because she remembered things, didn’t mean that it didn’t take a few moments for her to really sort out who they were. It was confusing to now count who she thought was enemies as allies and those who were supposed to be allies…
Oh those poor misguided fools.

Remarque glanced over the girl, taking in her new appearance. Senshi corrupted by the Negaverse were still strange and new to him, and even with her standing before him, it seemed strangely dreamlike.
She seemed to remember him better than Eos had—but at least she had remembered him. He'd have been offended if she was asking who he was, too. "Remarque, that's right. Why, were you expecting Leto?" he prompted.
It wasn't that he had anything against the now Captain of the Dark Mirror Court, just that he assumed she had better things to do than meet up with stray allies. Particularly allies that used to be enemies. If memory served, there had once been quite a feud between the two, though perhaps things were different now that they were both on the same side. "She's probably busy. Official Dark Mirror Court things," he said, waving his hand nonchalantly as if to dismiss Leto altogether.
He nodded approvingly at the eternal senshi before him. "You look good. Black suits you. I'm liking the wings."

She shrugged. She hadn’t been expecting Leto, but she still rather longed to see the girl again. “She was my friend before. And I wanted to see her again, that’s all.” Albireo stood up, unable to resist giving a little twirl just to show off.
She had to admit, she even thought that she looked good like this. The blue and green stood out so much against the black and she just felt…so much graceful, so much stronger. Perhaps that was due to the fact that she was now an eternal, or perhaps it was due to the fact that she was finally on the right side of this stupid feud. She was finally able to start protecting the earth. She would be among those to help keep the earth safe now. She had the ability to lend her powers to the cause.
“I like the wings too. And the colors. And the fact that I’m not agonizing about making the wrong choices anymore.” She still twirled a lock of her long hair around her hand and gave a smile, free of the sadness and guilt that had been there before, full of a freedom that she had never really felt. She had purpose. She had direction.
And now she had someone to really show off too.

A small smile twitched it's way onto Remarque's face; Albireo did seem to be in a much better mood now than before. "Glad to hear that, too. The Negaverse treating you all right?" he inquired; he knew that they were allies, though perhaps he felt a little torn that Ares had not gotten to Albireo before the Negaverse. Albireo might have an ally of the Dark Mirror Court, but he couldn't be sure that she was truly saved. On a better path? Certainly. Being the best she could be?
…Maybe not.
But it was too late to change things now—even if she could convert to the Dark Mirror Court, he was certain that the Negaverse wouldn't like Ares snagging their agents.
He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back casual as he watched Albireo; seeing her smile brought a warmth to him that he didn't often feel. He was happy for her—genuinely happy. She didn't look worried or anguished; she looked at peace.
If Remarque had ever had any doubt about where he stood in this war, it was gone as soon as he saw her, like this, free of the misery that had always lung to her before.

“They’re treating me just fine, thanks.” She smiled, nodding. She was happy, really. At least, at least when she was powered she was happy. When she was powered she had a purpose, an identity. When she wasn’t…well, that was something that she had to start getting used to. “Hey, Remarque…do you know anyone that’s looking for a roommate or something…you see…”
She hesitated then shrugged. “I kind of don’t have any…life anymore. When I power down, I don’t even remember just who I am, or who I was…I have a new name now at least…so that’s good…but I need a place to stay…and I need someone to live with. Some…anchor point to really start over, I guess you could say.”
Albireo drew quiet, glancing away. She didn’t want to seem weak, she really didn’t, but…but she couldn’t stay powered up all the time, and sleeping on people’s couches just..was getting old. “I guess I should get a job too while I’m at it…money would be a big help…”

Ah—another case of picking up the pieces of a broken life. He'd watched Ophelia work at starting up a new life, and looking at Albireo he wondered who was luckier—the girl who knew what she was leaving behind, or the girl who had no idea what she'd lost. "Money would probably be a very big help," he noted; he couldn't imagine a life where he didn't have a steady flow of income—or a home.
He thought of Ophelia for a moment—how she had jumped right into getting a job and how she was saving to move out. It wasn't that she was a burden, but it had put a bit of a strain on his and Raven's relationship. He wasn't in a rush to kick her out, though he was in a rush to smooth things over with Raven.
And Ophelia was looking to move out, soon…
"And if you're looking for a roommate, I might be able to help you," he mused. "There's a girl staying with me—Dark Mirror, but she's looking to find somewhere to anchor herself so she can start over, too. Don't know if I can help you with a job," he paused; he'd been around town with Ophelia enough that he had a lengthy list of what places were hiring, though he hadn't the faintest idea of what Albireo might be looking for—so he asked. "Did you have something specific in mind? Something you might be interested in doing?"
