 It had taken her awhile to reach this point. Akane lifted her head as she stared ahead of her. If she passed this test, there would be no going back. She knew she wouldn't be able to have second thoughts while she was fighting. No. Better to have them now if at all. Her pride was dead. Gone. She wouldn't go back to a life like that. Her face hardened with determination. This was the right choice.
"I Challenge!" Akane let her voice ring out. No going back. She would use all the skills she'd aquired over the tough months on her own to win. Her eyes searched for someone coming to meet her challenge.

 "and i accept that challenge. now prove yourself worthy of joining." Huojin came closer as he got ready to duel this challenger. since his usual spar partner Aodhfin was not around at the moment to do a friendly duel. Huojin had taken it upon himself to duel a outsider that was looking to join the pride. he was not about to lose his end just because he had the extra responsibly of a family. no he was a solider and he was not one to be lazy. standing tall and proudly, he waited for the outsider to make the first move.

She didn't wait long. A large red male came to answer her. Akane wasn't sure about greeting him, or just attacking. He didn't give her name, so she wasn't going to give him hers. Then he just stood there. Suddenly she understood he was giving her first chance. Well she'd use it. With a roar the dark red lioness charged.

Huojin was almost caught off guard as she came charging right at him right off the bat. a grin came on his face as he felt that she was being foolish to charge him and so he braced himself for her charge. when she hit him, he was knocked off balanced but not to the ground and went stumbling but not before he took a swing at her with his paw to make her back off. his swing missed but he hoped it would do the job as he got his balance back.

Roll 2 It almost shocked her when her reckless dash worked. She wasn't sure how it happened but she would work with it. The resulting off-balance allowed her to easily dodge around his attack. Embolden by her first success, she closed with him again. This time trying to take a bite out of his pretty red coat.

lol remeber 1 = miss, 2 = bide, 3 = hit )
Huojin took the opportunity of her biding, to launch his own attack. he went to slam down a paw onto the top of her shoulder to make her think before charging him again. but he ended up missing his strike. snarling, he tried to regroup himself to not be so open in case she quickly attacked because of his miss leaving him open. he was not pleased with his performance so far.

samus x Sorry! >.< It's hard to type a reply before seeing the roll. Roll 3 Akane saw his defense and had decided to bide her time. She saw the large paw coming for her and skittered to the side. Expecting an attack, her body had tensed. But no pain registared. She blinked as she realized he had missed again. Was he playing with her? Akane saw him pull back to regroup. Now was her chance!
The red female leaped forward to close the distance between them. Her yellow eyes searched the nearest target. A piece of his body offered itself to her. Immediantly she clamped down with a vicious snarl.

no worries xD i always just roll and then edit my post after seeing the roll )
Huojin was not pleased when she got a hold of his leg. he gave out a vicious snarl towards her as he tried to free his leg so that he could back off and bide his time. "this is a duel not a blood bath." hissing, he assumed she was just getting a bit too caught up in the duel. but that didn't mean it didn't piss him off to have his leg chomped down upon.

Roll 4 His voice startled her into releasing his paw. Weren't they suppose to hurt each other? How would they know then who was really suitable? For a moment she hesitated. Did that explain his pulled hits then? He was faking it?
Akane shook her head. No turning back. "I don't duel by halves," she hissed back at him. Her goal was to prove she was worth it. That she deserved to be a part of this pride. She took the chance to follow up. Her claws took a swipe at his nose.

Huojin gave a loud snarl as his nose got clawed in his attempt to stay back and figure out what he was going to do. he was use to sparing with Aodhfin whom he had mentored when Aodhfin had been just a young juvi. he was not realizing he needed to spar and duel others besides Aodhfin. with his current performance in this duel he felt he needed to retrain and train even more. he took a swing with at her face in response with his own claws extended but just barely managed to miss.

Roll 5 Her claws came back with a couple drops of blood on them. Instinctively Akane crouched. She felt the wind as his paw went right over her. Where her head had been. That would have seriously hurt. She wondered if she'd finally made him mad enough to really strike at her. Good.
Her eyes blazed as she prepped her next attack. Backleg tensed and her butt wiggled. Just as she made her leap from below, a small rock turned under her foot and threw her off balance. Of all the times! Silently she cursed as she went into a controlled roll away from him.

Huojin took one last opportunity to try to land a blow against her but ended up missing once again. growling, he now backed off so that he could catch his breath so he could speak. " enough. you have won your duel." snarling a little, he was more pissed at himself than anything as he felt he had not given his best. but he would just have to train harder more than ever now as he was not pleased to have lost with a poor excuse of a performance. "by the way i am Huojin."

samus x Ah thanks for adding it up!
Her ears flicked as he called an end the duel. Gradually she relaxed and nodded her acceptance. "Thank you. I'm Akane'Serkan Enyo. Akane works just fine." She glanced at his wounds, and coughed. "Sorry if I got a little rough."

" i'll live so it is no big deal. and if you ever want another duel i am usually around sparing." Huojin grunted as he gave her a nod and turn his back to her to leave. he was now going to go be with his mate and children after getting his flesh wounds dealt with. oh he was going to have fun when his mate Alma got a hold of him and nagged him about his wounds though.
